461  Other / Meta / Re: Account Farmers are the new Ponzis on: May 09, 2016, 04:05:54 AM
Think it is a mix of both and not leaning to far on either side to be fair in addressing why sigs are staying clear. I reference the ponzi issue as it was the last issue and I saw people apolgize out of fear rather then thinking they where right or wrong.
Believe the same applies here and you yourself blew me off by saying some signature users write to much. I read that as go away, am I right?
Would validate my point if so.
462  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Brexit' could trigger World War Three, warns David Cameron on: May 09, 2016, 03:57:38 AM
If Britain gets out of the European Union, then the European Union will lose a little bit of its warmongering character. The United Kingdom was one of the most active backers of the United States, when the latter decided to bomb / invade foreign nations such as Serbia, Srpska, Libya, Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan. So Brexit will be good for the world peace.

Disagree. As much as Britian and the States come across as warmongers, there are plenty of Countries that hide behind what they do on the global stage and others that would suffer without them. Not saying I agree with their tactics all the time but it helps deter issues as well knowing there will be consequences.
Some of these Eastern Countries will be nibbled on as a test that may extend farther West. I know Poland is a bad example for what I am trying to point to.
Just think Europe is for sure weaker without the UK.
Will be interesting from a far, would hate to be in the UK if the vote is yes.
463  Other / Meta / Re: Account Farmers are the new Ponzis on: May 09, 2016, 03:44:42 AM
If you want to ding people for spam it should be only fair that older accounts have all their sock puppet accounts tagged as such, otherwise we are dealing with a situation where you are going after people that are late to bitcoin well also allowing them to be mislead by multi accounts.
Having seen people like Luptin leave three word responses and a person with a signature leave quality responses and be accused of spam aslo seems out of wack. Not a personal attack just a obvious member all would know. Its stating you can put little effort into posting as long as you are positioned properly without a signature. Some serious double standards. The lot getting giddy over clamping down are never happy either with one issue! We eliminate signatures and you will reap what you so desire, but I honestly do not think the outcome will be what you expect.
Notice how few signature members are in this thread! Is it because you are right about all of them spamming or more sinister in not wanting to become a target of the chosen elite? Sadly we know the truth and this discussion like those before it will turn into a closed circle jerk for like minds to scream bloody murder at members of the forum.
Signatures this forums version of a red door?
464  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Brexit' could trigger World War Three, warns David Cameron on: May 09, 2016, 03:00:10 AM
This reminds me of the vote fo independence for Scotland vote, but the talking points are more pointed and fearful rhetoric attempts.
Its interesting and I am not judging just wonder if other Countries in the same situation would handle it differently. I am leaning towards no but think its a interesting route to look at.
A Europe without the U.K influence could make Russia more influential in the East.
465  Other / Meta / Re: Some folks say the forum sucks on: May 09, 2016, 01:03:37 AM
Forum sucks because people either are to busy bitching about it and not addressing the issue by improving their own posts thinking its just the sig spammers.
There is a underlying issue of them vs. us and even the mods are caught up in supporting one aspect in how they view signatures.
The problem for me is I look around and realize I came to bitcoin for a philosophy and the forum is more driven by profit. You have sig spam, scammers and arrogant posters because people are gravitating to the aspect of making money.
A community that helps and encourages each other will not be found here due ti this aspect.
Clean up the forum you will see and then you click on their posts and see its trust building or a business being pushed. Otherwise they woul be leading by example and posting amazing reads.

End of the day what I want for bitcoin is to be free of control and thought a forum should reflect that but I hit a wall addressing this as the meta threads pile in wanting to eliminate more and more aspects.

there are a ton of other (private) forums you can join.
nobody is forcing you to participate here. people are free to voice their opinion - doesnt matter if good or bad.
thats how this forum works since inception but lately i feel too that spammers are getting overboard in a lot of different subs.

I will move along if I do not like what I see, thanks for reminding me that I have this option. Cheesy
No offence but you just treated me like I am retarded but continue down the road of every one being allowed to voice a opinion.

Anyways...

You may not pick up on it but this subtle move along if you do not like it can also apply to the same people going on and on about sig spam. Just because mods agree its like any one that disagrees is a punching bag for every one to pile in on. Go read any thread on signatures, ponzis or investor based forums and you will see that the threads operate in a gang fashion. Come from the wrong aspect and you will meet the same faces in rapid fire over running the one or two people that disagree.
You ask me we need mods that do not all come at issues with the same view points. More balance might help take the bite out of responses that come off like you are dealing with a robot or a person that just wants you to go away.
Forum looks like its polluted when it comes to trust.
It obviously means to much to some people.

466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright just nuked Gavins and Matonis credibility in just 2 days - wow! on: May 08, 2016, 11:08:28 PM
Why would they be so quick to validate him when the potential for backfire was right there for everyone to see?
Are we that hard up to get the creator out so we can move into a new stage of creating a global platforum!

There had to be more to this and some one misfired or got chicken at the last minute. Very odd and I think it damaged bitcoin a little in the public eye.

468  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Racism and intelligence on: May 08, 2016, 07:17:38 PM
As much as I dislike alot of the racist rhetoric that is posted here for discussion, I find psychology tends to suffer from wearing blinders or dismissing anything that does not reinforce the view. I enjoy it but you have to be alert to left leaning articles like this one.
Racism shows up all along the spectrum of intelligence, its the dismissive stance to pretend that its just poor and uneducated folks that are inflicted.
469  Other / Meta / Re: Why are the Politics Forums dominated by Wilikon's Opinions? on: May 08, 2016, 04:06:06 PM
I actually enjoy his posts and find the other agenda threads as the problem. Racism and religion seem to override all other conversations.
You can always post a topic and take the schill accounts lightly or ignore them.
470  Other / Meta / Re: Account Farmers are the new Ponzis on: May 08, 2016, 03:53:47 AM

This is why the campaigns will never get banned. This forum would have excellent content, but probably not even half of the traffic. I think banning yobit's campaign would be good. Make the campaigns know if they do not curb the spammers they will be banned. Hilarious has told them plenty of times to clean it up IIRC.

Hilarious is actually cleaning house on close to a monthly cycle now that he is in charge. They no longer take Jr. members and this will help cut the garbage posting down, since it was to easy before to just start a new account.

Sometimes I think blaming signatures is a attempt to not see things for what they are, being that there is less draw to this forum for a lot of people due to tiffs, disagreements and lack of depth.
The push to get rid of signatures has allowed people to dictate how they want the forum as opposed to hearing what the majority may want.
No one knows because the loudest bark wins out more than not.
So imagine signatures are gone because so many here that have established accounts look at it as filth. You honestly think posts will improve? Lot of the members I see over and over frowning on signatures do not post indepth threads. They may run business here but is that being part of the community or exploiting them? Think a lot of the services here are the latter, so where is this community that will suddenly reestablish its self!

Signatures attract new people and give them coin to figure the ropes out. I know there is a lot of spammers that come out of it as well and agree something should be worked out, but I do not think you will get this sudden utopia once signatures are gone.
Personally think limiting to full member and up is fine but maybe setup something for newer accounts to get their feet wet. Faucets no longer cut it for this aspect.
471  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM | No.1 for Cryptocurrency Gambling | Provably Fair | 3 BTC BONUS on: May 08, 2016, 03:24:10 AM
Its odd because I sent half that around the same time and it showed up after 40 minutes. Seems like they take longer than most sites for some reason.
472  Other / Meta / Re: Account Farmers are the new Ponzis on: May 06, 2016, 07:25:44 PM
Have to be careful in creating a donation aspect of 2 btc since it creates a mirror image of society in the 1% being those that donated. It would be a little off putting but I think the site should see more revenue coming in,so little torn on that.
The problem you face is there will for sure be competing forum that is going to be set up for those that are anti government and establishment. If there is not yet a place like this as the forum moves towards crossing out a few aspects that draw people here.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do block explorers know who just mined a block? on: May 06, 2016, 07:20:48 PM
Having miner IP out there is not a bad thing? Would think they need to have extra protocol to protect from being hacked. Did not know their was such a connection for miners, interesting.
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First major bank has embraced bitcoin adding it to their services on: May 06, 2016, 07:18:18 PM
The interest is a good thing as long as they are adding and not subtracting from bitcoin and sometimes I worry that some of these big companies are going to attempt to railroad or hijack the coin.
475  Economy / Economics / Re: Loans too risky? on: May 06, 2016, 07:16:00 PM
It depends really in how you go about loaning. Here on bitcointalk you usually get something in exchange that is valued at a higher amount than the loan and means you profit either way. Its just that the amount of loans usually do not amount to much in the interest if the person does payback.
476  Other / Off-topic / Re: In 20 years, what would you like to do with your bitcoin? on: May 06, 2016, 07:14:09 PM
I hope to be alive in 20 years but that said I would most likely split the bitcions between my cousins kids as a way to pay for their schooling. Since I do not plan to have kids I would be looking to help the rest of the family build a legacy.
477  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 (within a month?) on: May 06, 2016, 07:12:33 PM
Only way to achieve that price for me would be the Canadian dollar tanking, which may be possible with the Oilsands being shut down currently due to fire and bitcoin also going up.

With others in wanting a slow build up rather than a quick and sudden rise because the fall usually mirrors the rise.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How long do you play per day gambling like Dice ? on: May 06, 2016, 07:08:45 PM
I have finally figured out dice are really bad for me. I can go up a significant amount for what I put in and almost never walk away with that amount. Tend to always continue when I go cold and lose most of it. The self control is a huge issue for this aspect of gambling because the swings can be so quick. Sometimes I click without thinking to much about it like a trance.
479  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Islamic Fanatic Nazis - Yes, I mean Islamic religious believers. on: May 06, 2016, 07:06:36 PM
Have to admit I had few Muslim buddies growing up and the ones I did always felt a bit distant like I was not seeing the whole identity or they did not trust me with certain aspects of their lives.
One guy never told me till I went to his house and his mother was hiding her face and we did a lot of things that made me question how welcome I was in the house. At that time I was a kid and knew nothing about Muslims but
I got enough vibe to not go unwelcomed to their house.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS: SATOSHI FINALLY REVEALED! on: May 06, 2016, 07:03:47 PM
Wheres my dogpound at?
Cool Think that will go over a few peoples heads. Grin

This may trigger more copycats trying to cash in on a quick bump in fame to hawk a product or two.
Hope that we do not go down that road as it would be a bad look for the community as the media then parades the disgraced folks out to point at bitcoin as a monster.
