2421  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: First time bitcoin user - am I getting scammed? on: May 08, 2014, 08:11:34 PM
Talked with him, he was also new to btc apparently also found out he uses bitcoin core wallet. Is that bad/good?

Bitcoin Core wallet is good.  That wallet will continue to broadcast the transaction until it confirms, so it should confirm eventually.  That wallet will not allow him to respend those bitcoins elsewhere while he is waiting for it to confirm.

To avoid this problem in the future, he should change the default transaction fee in preferences to 0.0001 BTC.

Here's what that setting would look like on an Apple computer, it should be similar in Windows:

Danny, wouldn't it be better if he double-spent the funds to another address, then resend with fee?

OP, don't act before Danny responds.

Count me in. Current post count is 73.

You need to post your current post count and also your bitcoin address.
2423  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Am I getting scammed? First time bitcoin user on: May 08, 2014, 06:55:51 PM
If it still says unconfirmed an hour after you see it, something definitely is wrong.
Confirmations supposed to happen every 10 min on average.

It's because the sender didn't pay a fee.

I don't believe you are getting scammed - and my reasoning is that I've had transactions like this in the past.

Give it time - I don't see anything telling me that it won't be confirmed.

The sender didn't pay a fee.

What I just said above is a not that correct. It might never confirm, since he did not add a fee.

Okay, so I'll just leave it and see the money as lost? Did he try to scam me?

No. He is probably just stupid and didn't pay the transaction fee. It might eventually confirm, but it might not.
What client is that guy using?

So I was sent this transaction who seems very weird. Worth noting it's my first time receiving using btc.
I use the wallet multibit and I was sent approx 175 dollars. Theese have been showing up but I can't spend them and it sais unconfirmed.

Here is a screen shot http://sv.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=144blfb&s=8#.U2vI_vl_tVQ.

Also here is the transaction info: https://blockchain.info/tx-index/616b243a3e151963bc875d7cd2a991fc689f717c816769da7fa0c1598bac202b

Should I send him his stuffs or should I wait? Am I gonna get this cash at? It seems really fishy, like he've done something

He just didn't include enough transaction fee. Wait for 1 confirmation, or if you want to be safe, 2.

Okay, so I will receive the money. I haven't send him his stuffs yet so, I'll wait til I can use the money until I'll send. How long will this take do you think?

Don't send him anything until you reach 1 confirmation. It is supposed to take 10 minutes, but can take up to one hour, but usually doesn't.
So actually around 20-30 minutes.

I bought an account from a guy, but now he is delaying to change the email and the payout address. If i submit enough proof, will PBMining change it?

I assume you didn't use an escrow like http://cosign.co.in/ ?

Nope, didn't use escrow at all Sad. He sent me login, I logged in, emailed support to change email, address and password.
Then I paid him, some hours later, support said I had no rights to change the details since it wasn't from the original email, and changed everthing back.

just wondering, how much do you pay per ghs for that account?

It was an auction, I won with 0.073BTC for 26.1GH/s.

2431  Bitcoin / Electrum / Fetching Raw Transaction with Electrum? on: May 08, 2014, 06:11:01 PM
This is a bit of a stupid question, but how do I use getrawtransaction with electrum? getrawtransaction transactionID doesn't work, getrawtransaction (transactionID) doesn't work, and neither does getrawtransaction(transactionID).

It keeps giving me "invalid syntax" on the console.
2432  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is China silently conquering Africa? on: May 08, 2014, 04:19:49 PM
That is correct. However, China doesn't seem that interested in countries near the equator or deserts, they seem to be befriending countries near the coast, or in the south.

Well.. that is only partially true. I agree that the Southern African nations such as Angola are seeing massive Chinese investments. At the same time, equatorial African nations such as Uganda and Cameron are also witnessing Chinese activity on a large scale. (Check the map).

OK. My statement was wrong, China doesn't seem to be that interested in countries near the equator or deserts for food. Of course they are interested in resources, That's a really important thing, since China does not have that much oil and gas.
2433  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: May 08, 2014, 04:07:43 PM
i am a member since january and still havent reached ROI.....yes, i havent reinvested my earning but still...just to let you know guys...

I'm curious. If you buy X amount of GHs. What is the break even time frame assuming you don't reinvest?

If you get some referrals, your break even speeds up very fast!!!

If you don't buy anything and just get referrals, you won't need to break even, and earn free.
2434  Economy / Auctions / Re: qoinpro.com sale start 0.01 on: May 08, 2014, 04:04:45 PM
You actually own that site or am I missing something here? Looks a bit fishy.

He's selling an account on that site, which is a huge pyramid automatic faucet. Like, it collects coins every day, but mostly dust, but if you have tons of referrals, you can profit.

OP, how much are you making with this account?
2435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how many watts does all algo ? on: May 08, 2014, 03:58:41 PM
I have 2 x 290 non x and 2 x 270x.

if scyrpt is 1000 watts

how many watts are each algo:

n-scrypt:  ? watts

x11 :  ? watts

groestl :  ? watts

I have now 2 psu ( evga 1000watts gold and rosewill 750w gold.)

if I want to build mining rigs, one with 1000w and other is 750w gold with the following gpu and 2 more 270 non x gpu. can it be done or not?

NOT OK. The 290s can use up to 500w under full load, and the 270x up to 250w. Get a 1200w psu, and a 800w if you can.
2436  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is China silently conquering Africa? on: May 08, 2014, 03:56:30 PM
i have read some articles months ago
africa is the future of world food reserves
because china has the biggest world population and need food for their citizen
so they had to secure the African farmland for their future
imo

No.. by area wise, the amount of farmland available in Africa is very less, when compared with that available in Russia, Ukraine, China, India or Canada. That is because a large part of Africa is covered with deserts and forests. And any extensive agricultural programs might need gigantic irrigation schemes, which is not possible currently as there is simply not enough water.

That is correct. However, China doesn't seem that interested in countries near the equator or deserts, they seem to be befriending countries near the coast, or in the south.
2437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: transaction hash on: May 08, 2014, 03:50:37 PM
Thanks a lot for all your answers.
I'm using a wallet provided by localbitcoins but I don't know where to look up the hash.
Moreover, I tried to search it on blockchain by typing in the address but it didn't work.
Any ideas? I'm thankful for everything.

You still haven't explained why you want it, but localbitcoins doesn't make it very easy to find the transactionID (transaction hash).  This is because localbitcoins is not a wallet, but instead is an account.  The wallet is controlled by localbitcoins, so you don't have access to much of the information, and they have the ability to handle the transactions however they like.

The easiest way to find the transactionID will  probably be to search the blockchain for the address that you sent the bitcoins to.  Then look through the list of transactions that were received at that address at approximately the time that you sent your transaction.  You should be able to find a transaction that transferred the exact amount that you sent.

If you send me the address that the bitcoins were sent to, the approximate date and time (and timezone) that you sent the transaction, and the exact amount that you sent, then I should be able to look it up for you and provide you the transaction hash.  I'll even send over step-by-step instructions on how I found it so you can better understand the process.

And also, coins are probably mixed on localbitcoins, so even if your "Account" has 0.01BTC, you won't see that 0.01BTC on a block explorer.
2438  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: loljosh = mintodev = templar77 = Kfahmi = ... = scammer on: May 08, 2014, 03:47:22 PM
Wow.... so like... this "research" of yours.... does it include anything other that the timezone? You know like I too can change my timezone.... does that make me the fifth another alter ego?  Shocked

that guy stoled me 0.5btc, OK?

Ya ya... we all saw that other thread with the screenshots. That's your shit. I'm just curious as to how you came to the conclusion that all these accounts are the same.

I tracked down all the details except the account. OP, how the heck did you get "evidence" that loljosh and templar77 is mintodev?

they make scam a same way, same product, same method. I promise that the thief will get...

Please explain further. I don't like people accusing others without proof.

I updated the OP with some notice about fake rejects issue. Please let me know if it's OK and if it will be understandable by new users (or help me write a better text). I'm 100% into tech issues and ongoing maintenance at this moment and I know that I'm not in my best copywriting form today Smiley. I'm not sure if what I wrote will clear new users confusions or not. Thanks!

That's good, but you really should add that on-site. Like as a banner, next to the servers.

Let me answer this question with a question...
Why do you need a Bank Account Number, instead of giving the other guy your name? :p
