Do you hear the silence ?
I think that's it.

No new posts since 7. April

To be fair, they have written 25+ posts in this thread since 7th April. The latest post being on the 17th, 5 days ago.

In my opinion, people need to give them a break. It's not like they have taken anyones money yet, and their reasons for not revealing more details are fair enough. They don't want to promise anything they can't deliver. Due dilligence is good and all, but companies are going to be scared of entering the bitcoin market if they can't even express their intent to release a product without being labeled a scammer and being dragged through the mud for no reason. For the record I have no affiliation with KNCminer or ORsoc, but I have placed a preorder with them.

KNCminer, I have a question I was hoping you could answer: I signed up for the initial 1-500 preorder, and received a confirmation email with order number, and everything seems OK so far. I have seen you say that people should register at your site to receive further information about the preorders, but I have not done this, I only filled out the preorder form and placed the order. Am I still OK to receive this information or is it mandatory to sign up on the site? With all due respect I would rather not sign up if there is no reason for it. The information provided in the preorder form should be enough. Please advise if I need to sign up on the site for my order to be valid.

Thank you and good luck in development. Regards from Norway Smiley

Your question was not important enough in their eyes.

The only way asic manufacturers could make bitcoin mining to not basicly become worthless in 2014 is if they limited orders to certain amount of GH power per buyer. That still would only work if there's only one asic manufacturer though.

Asic screwed bitcoin mining completely, greed has done the job once again. Only those who have ASICS in their hands right now will profit from it but it's very short business for them too, others are doomed, if they would be happy to meet ROI they can expect some very, very limited number of additional coins, not worth of investment risk. I'd be very, very mad if I'd be BFL buyer, not only they missed a chance to profit a lot with them being advertised as early, early ASIC manufacturing company but it's even a question if they'll make their investment back at this point.

ASICs are worst thing that happened to Bitcoin so far.

Yes, I think ASIC mining device manufacturers might consider establishing some kind of association like OPEC, so that they could limit the total hash rate from exploding and protect their profit and their customer, that will also help to stablize the exchange rate of bitcoin

Bitcoin is a deflative currency and encourage people to save more and make wise investment decision before they risk their precious coins. But on the other side, to generate the coin, people might get into the most fierce arms race and employ what ever possible technology to enhance their edge

Since their registration, the bitcoin price had crashed, BFL has started to deliver and ASIC miner is selling blades, Avalon is selling chips, lots of market condition have changed

One year ago when lot's of users pre-ordered ASIC devices, it was just a concept and many those buyers were purely gambling on a new mining technology. Now the result is out, the gambling is over, people need to see more concret product and compare the performance before they make a purchase decision

Look, I get it. I'm skeptical as well, but not receiving an answer within an hour or so is nothing to whine about. Your post reminds me of this lol:

Read some BFL's posts since 2 years ago and you will get an idea about how their last launch of FPGA product line looked like  Wink

I hate BFL and hope Josh breaks both his knees, but even I'll admit they're shipping a small amount! The units look nice.

Interested in the response to this, was wondering the exact same thing.

Hi again all,

There has been a lot of talk in this forum thread and we simply don't have time to reply to every post (we are quite busy) but this one seemed genuine enough and I thought needed clarification.

On our site www.kncminer.com there are a few ways to get on the mailing list, The first one is to register for a pre-order and tick the box for the mailing list, The second is to add your address to the mailing list only.

Either way you will receive the same information. The only difference is that the pre-order registrants have a place in the queue when we launch the products. (which they don't have to use, as anyone can just not progress their registration to a full order and give up their queue place if they so wish)

I hope this helps anyone who is confused. We will try to make these things clearer in the future.

Best regards

Ok, today I met orsoc CEO Johan personally and I can confirm 100% this is not a scam

He is interested in bitcoin and knows a lot about it. He acknowledged that they have been discussing this product offering with kncminer for weeks and there will be news published later this week

They will have a more concrete technical specification for the product soon

Happy to read that. I happen to be one of the person here that think they really sounds legit. We will have to wait more, as we've seen many scammers so far, but it definitely looks good knowing that a company like Orsoc will help develop the product.

Can we know how and why you have been able to meet him?

Well, I'm afraid the will ask for money in advance in order to fund developing before having working units, and you know how that turned out for BFL, bASIC, etc.

Hope I'm wrong.

"discussing this product offering with kncminer for weeks"

Week to week, ..., in a very short time, network power at 328Th/s and BTC could "drop" to 50$,...,
Week to week, ..., BFL, Avalon, ASICMINER,...., 1500Th/s-5000Th/s network power, BTC in 50$-100$; 50GH/s machine could be a "non profit" device (54$-104$ month), years to ROI without electricity costs in the math,...,never ROI.

What about the device specs?

Week to week,...,week to week.

Elacoin-ELC,Betacoin-BET,Neutroncoin-NTRN,Americancoin-AMC,Stronghands-SHND,Craftcoin-CRC,DOGE,BCH,BTC,...,Bitcoin,...(and a lot more)
Linux updated wallets (source code) for: ELC, BET, AMC, NKT, SLING, CRC,...

There is definitely an equilibrium between the bitcoin price and mining difficulty.  If mining looks too difficult, then people just turn off their miners, buy bitcoin instead (and the price rises and difficulty drops until mining suddenly looks attractive again). But you're right that the ROI on these will change on a week to week basis.  The best time to know whether or not you're making a good business decision is likely the moment before you actually send the money.

This is more of a point for newbies, but always consider how much BTC you could simply but at that very moment instead of just getting a miner.

I'd like to point out that Sweden is a cold country. I have no idea if "cheaper heating" rather than "profit" has been considered a goal for a bitcoin miner by kncminer, but it's something other people have been talking about for years now.

The idea is to harvest the heat produced by the bitcoin miner and use it to heat your house during fall, winter and spring. If you consider the mining device more of a heating device, it doesn't have to bring a profit on it's own to be profitable. The cost of running the mining device (electricity - bitcoin profits) can be less than the cost of alternative ways of heating. However, not many houses in Sweden are directly heated by electricity - district heating and heat pumps is quite common, so there still has to be something like a 50% return on the electricity cost.

This kind of use could prolong the "profitable" life time of a bitcoin miner for several years.
