How many BTC are actually in wallets held by islamists? I bet it's a negligible quantity. They probably have a higher share of the oil market than the cryptocurrency market. And they can't mine! I've read several reports about regular power shortages in Syria.

Raise your status?
Frankly, I don't see why. My friends and my family know me for my unconventional and sometimes risky behavior, but I don't see why using BTC would make look like a better person. Are we smart because we use BTC? I've tried teasing women by saying I'm a BTC user and holder, but it didn't work. Better have a nice car.

Like most people here, I haven't spent a single satoshi today, but there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not making BTC transactions everyday. I haven't used my credit card either. So far this month, if my memory is correct, I made 4 BTC transactions and I've used my credit card also 4 times. I'm not using my credit card more than my wallet!

I hope this is discussed at the highest level. I sure don't know how things will turn out, but very few people expect Syria to go back to what it was in 2010. All its borders will be redesigned. Turkey will expect to gain some new territory, and Israel will look at opportunities (as always). The Kurds should get their share, too. Irak too could lose a lot to a new Kurdistan, as it has shown it's unable to maintain the rule of the law within its own legal borders.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Among the people fighting IS, the most ardent fighters are probably the Kurds. They were fighting Irakis before IS, and they're also at war with Turkey. As Turkey has shown many times, it's more concerned about crushing Kurds than IS. Now that Turkey has also decided to fight Russians, Russia should support the creation of a free Kurdistan, just like I do.
The international community allowed the creation of Israel in 1947, it is now time to allow the creation of Kurdistan.

Turkey has many automotive factories. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_industry_in_TurkeyI suppose Russians could stop buying cars built by Turks. There are no Turkish brands, but several foreign brands have chosen to build factories there because of closeness to Europe, and cheap labor.

Nothing much should change for individuals. The big change will be to the banking sector, and to all the people who who make their income by managing other people's money, selling and handling credit cards, transferring money, cashing checks, etc, etc...

Maximum price for a website is 3 times its annual revenue. I suggest you forget the website and focus on selling the domain name. Sorry if you think I'm rough but business is tough. Ask yourself how much Donald Trump would pay for your business. Not much.

In most countries, this is illegal. Since there are taxes and various charges on salaries, they must be in the currency which is legal tender, and that excludes BTC. But you can easily get your salary wired to a company which will exchange your fiat into BTC. At least one person on this board is doing that.

So, where's the trouble? I have no faith in the system, nor in democracy, but that doesn't stop me from having a normal family life. As much as I can, I'm just living without taking part in anything public. I pay VAT when I buy something, I pay airport tax when I'm flying and I pay gas about several times what it's actually worth because I'm in Europe, but I'm supporting any government which I help funding.

One was Pervitin, and there was another one, but I can't remember its name. Amphetamines were legal in most of Europe up to the earlies 60's. And there was a time when they could be bought without a prescription, over the counter. It's another proof that IS doesn't need BTC to get an income. Besides selling oil on the black market, it's also selling dope.

This isn't going to help me much, as many shops I'm going to regularly do not accept credit cards. By the way, is that card anonymous? I like the idea of BTC to fiat conversion, but it can only be useful to people who have an income in BTC. If you exchange fiat to BTC, then BTC to fiat, you lose.

I don't want to get BTC news everyday? Why should I? BTC do not make headline everyday, nor should any currency. I haven't read or seen anything about the $ or the € those past few days, does it matter? It just doesn't. This board is more thn enough, and I don't even log in everyday. I keep calm.

I never had any doubt about who was the biggest and meanest thief.
Note this only talks about registered seizures. Hey, if a cop arrests a drug dealer with a suitcase full of cash, it can happen that a stack of bills accidently falls down, just at the same time his handkerchief falls down. By total inadvertence, the cop puts his handkerchief back in his pocket without noticing he grabbed the cash at the same time. Those things happen, you know.

This shows how bad and how poor Europe is. If Europe wants to be something, it should be able to invade Syria and the fix that IS problem all by itself. Maybe the French president doesn't know history. Some 100 years, Syria was under French control. I know France is no longer what it was, but Europe should be able to do what France was doing a century ago.

It's a difficult question as there are many answers. What are you looking for, the country which has the largest number of miners? The largest number of BTC holders? The country whose inhabitants collectively own more BTC than any other? The country with the highest number of shops accepting BTC? ...

The first article is from Reuters: http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/11/19/us-france-shoooting-eu-terrorism-funding-idUSKCN0T81BW20151119#8CZ7HWAkXbylDZoe.97It talks about BTC and prepaid credit cards. I don't believe they would do much against the second because that would hurt the poor. Most people have a standard credit card from their bank, but millions have a bad credit history. They can't get a normal credit card, nor a check book, so prepaid credit card is the only option for them. Somehow, BTC's a bit like that. Politicians from the left should fight that crack down, if it occurs as poor people would feel the pain much more than terrorists.

With the recent attack in Paris, many questioned 'again' where the hell those terrorist got their funds. Hidden agenda or secret talks? Some people already know the hidden truth about it* and bitcoin already part of their sources.
Basically, because bitcoin transaction is as light as feather, it's really making hard to be accepted worldwide.
What can you say about this?
Are there miners in the part of Syria controlled by IS? Nobody noticed, but BTC isn't a source of funding. It's a currency, and it doesn't grow on trees. IS has oil which it can sell on the black market to generate an income, but if IS has a way to make an income from BTC, I don't know what it is. I'd like to know so I can do it, too. it's about transferring funds not about as "income". Bitcoin facilitates this thing. So the picture above is wrong. BTC isn't comparable at all to black market oil. What it should state is the origin of all those BTC IS is supposedly getting. As it doesn't say anything about it, I guess this is all vaporware. The world has yet to see a single hard fact showing that IS is effectively having an income in BTC.

I have yet to see a relation between technology and the meaning of life. If there's one, it's a dangerous idea because technology continually improves. That would mean the meaning of life now isn't the same as what it was 100, or 1,000 years ago. Could we be on a ladder, with each new generation getting closer to the top? It's a different idea, as it gives 2 meanings of life. One for the individual, and another one for the human race.

OK, OK, we'll keep on living, and that's nice. Hey, I'm listening to rock'n roll right now. Check this vid of Eagles of Death Metal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzIKKbb75s4The police is intensifying its searches all over Europe, and that's nice too, certainly useful, but if we really want to go the roots of the problem, France, Russia, the US and UK will have send troops on Syrian ground, and they will have to get their hands bloody. Sorry, but you can't fight killers by drinking. Air bombings are only the beginning of what's needed.
