1341  Economy / Economics / Re: Homes On Wheels? Self Drive Vehicles Will Change How We Live & Dwell? on: March 23, 2016, 11:10:30 PM
I spent about 2 months in a motorhome last year, and I clearly do not want an autonomous vehicle. Actually, that's the last thing I want, considering that being on a motorhome means freedom, living without a fixed schedule, nor a clear destination. I drive, I see something I like, I stop. Living in a motorhome isn't about going from one destination to another, it's about driving. Last Spring I chose the direction, which was Southern Italy, but nothing was planned, and without any more precision.
1342  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How can I create my own religion? on: March 23, 2016, 06:27:51 PM
Religion is a great business these days.
How can I create my own religion and get followers?

I suggest you create the THOUSAND-BTC religion, where you would give one thousand BTC to each new follower. I'll pray for you each and every day after that, and I would always talk about you with much respect.
1343  Economy / Economics / Re: Are electric cars bad for the oil industry? on: March 23, 2016, 06:18:47 PM
Oil companies are energy companies. All of them have already invested large sums in renewables or other energies. I'm not worrying for them. They'll survive when all oil reserves will be depleted.
1344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Africa's Largest Online Marketplace Bidorbuy Adds Bitcoin Payments on: March 23, 2016, 06:15:51 PM
Sure, these are good news, but bidorbuy isn't the largest marketplace in Africa, let alone in its single home country: South Africa.
http://www.takealot.com/ is larger, and they are even bigger online markets in Nigeria.
1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin survive world war III? on: March 22, 2016, 11:07:24 PM
Don't think it would, because the electrical grid would be a prime target. People nowadays are incredibly reliant on electricity, all armies know this. We've seen that in Irak and Syria, people are using generators, and you just cannot afford to leave them on all day. You stay in the dark, that means without BTC.
1346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify promising new altcoins! on: March 22, 2016, 10:59:43 PM
I don't believe in any new altcoins, as I believe in the test of time. An altcoin isn't good till it's at least one year old. There are so many altcoins right now, it's probably the most difficult for a new one: make it last. That the survival of the fittest, let Darwin rules.
1347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Remains Most Popular Digital Currency on Dark Web on: March 22, 2016, 10:54:26 PM
Is anyone surprised? For fast, hidden payments, nothing beats BTC. Some altcoins could be better in the future, but not enough people trust them right now. It would be a dark day for BTC if it's ever beaten by an altcoin on the dark web.
1348  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Explosion at Zaventem airport in Brussels on: March 22, 2016, 10:49:47 PM
Wow! I was at that airport exactly one month ago. I didn't like it, there was no free wifi, but the seats were comfortable. I was in Paris shortly before and after the attacks last November, I guess it's dangerous everywhere, even with increased security. It's taking a bit longer to get to the gates.

It's a good time to travel though, last December in Paris, I got a rebate on my hotel room.
1349  Economy / Economics / Re: Poloniex or bitfinex? on: March 21, 2016, 07:17:56 PM
The 2 hardly compare. Bitfinex is not much useful, you can only trade BTC with LTC and ETH, whereas Poloniex lets you trade dozens of altcoins, so I say it's way, way better. Kraken is also better than bitfinex, it lets you trade more cryptos, but less than Poloniex.
1350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TIP] EDIT: Vanillacoin rebranded ! Now is Vcash XVC #fintech #azure #microsoft on: March 21, 2016, 07:13:45 PM
So Vcash for Vanillacash or Virtualcash, but what we shall see here is that there are some people working on marketing behind Vcash. I say it's good. This crypto is more than the rotten fruit of a team of young nerds with a difficult sex life.

So I say Vcash is clearly superior to the average altcoin, and I guess I'll buy some.
1351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Growing Anti-Japanese movemend in Germany on: March 21, 2016, 07:07:12 PM
1. The English Language fail for this product. What they mean under "sour cream"?

Schmand is something between cheese and yogurt. Think of it as a German whipped cream.

I'm really surprised such BS is making the news. This is a non-event from some retarded kids. There's no racism against the Japanese in Germany. It would be stupid as there's probably one Japanese for 500 Arabs right now in Germany. Even the neonazis aren't against the Japanese as they were an ally to the Third Reich. Just a bad joke, we shall forget it quickly.
1352  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should fear a cashless world on: March 21, 2016, 06:56:26 PM
I can't imagine a cashless world this century, except in a few fascists countries like Sweden or Denmark. The only credit card I have doesn't work in the country I'm currently living, where I don't have a bank account, so I just couldn't live without cash. I withdrew cash before coming here, and I will have to leave the country when my cash will dry out.

What would the homeless and the poor do without cash? In western Europe nowadays, it's getting more and more difficult to live without a bank account, and you'll end up paying much more for some services. The cashless society that some see as the future will be hell to the poor.
1353  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you Still believe in Fiat? on: March 21, 2016, 06:47:51 PM
Everybody loves cash, and the poor more than most, because they have no choice. Cash remains the only option which is absolutely free to use. No fees to the banks, or to a network, no need for an expensive mobile phone nor a subscription. Homeless people do not believe in anything but cash, and they're right. You've got to be rich to have other options.
1354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there still active pump/dump groups? on: March 20, 2016, 07:44:15 PM
Just look at that gridcoin thing. That stuff, I don't know what it is, is up 100% today. Who's behind it? Who's buying it? Why are they buying it? When the answers aren't evident, it means it's not real people pushing up the price.
1355  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the minimum amount to start as a trader? on: March 20, 2016, 07:40:49 PM
I started trading altcoins with exactly 1 BTC. The minimum allowed is much lower, but you have to think that the less you trade, the less you will gain (or loose). So, it's more about how much risk you're willing to take.

If you want to trade stocks, you need more than that.
1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why decentralization and resiliency is most important... on: March 20, 2016, 07:36:44 PM
I knew Venezuela wasn't a nice place to live, but it's worse than I thought. I hope they'll get a decent lawyer arguing that laws restricting BTC are very new, and that they were about to close their mining operations.

It's also clear that if you plan to go on holidays and pay with BTC, you should not go to Venezuela.
1357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brainstorming: Bitcoin application in real economy on: March 19, 2016, 12:11:08 AM
I don't see much use for BTC-based systems outside of finance. I think one country in South America is looking into putting its land registry on a blockchain, and that sounds good, but I don't see many businesses interested. The idea behind a blockchain is one of a public ledger with fast updates all over the world but who needs that? I'm using MySQL databases at work, and everything in it is confidential. So there's one central database, with very few people allowed to insert data in it. No need for a blockchain, then.

Governments could use blockchains more than companies.
1358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm holding some ETH on: March 18, 2016, 06:41:17 PM
unfortunately the prices going to down now but this is your decision and i hope you won't be regret about that because actually some people buying altcoins only care about how to get money from that and very rarely to see someone like you and i hope people will follow your steps and not just thinking about the profit

Thanks for your support. I want to look further away than making a small profit, besides my investment is minimal. I'm only holding 10 ETH, that's only $100. I made more than that in the past weeks buying and selling ETH, so I don't mind losing some of my profit. I shall also consider that this was totally unexpected. I hadn't imagined ETH's value would skyrocket the way it did.
1359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoins would you keep if you have $500? on: March 18, 2016, 03:03:07 PM
I'm currently holding ETH and DOGE. The first one because I want to support the project behind the currency, and the second because I think it's undervalued. DOGE can be strong, it's quite old, too and it has some big backers. I also like the fact it's one of the very few cryptos you can buy without getting BTC first.
1360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm holding some ETH on: March 18, 2016, 02:57:45 PM
yes, I'm a proud backer of Ethereum, and I shall add that most people everywhere were enthusiastic about it 2 months ago.

The problem is that a few weeks ago, some folks with too much money started to buy ETH like crazy and the price shot the moon, but I hope those days are over, so that only normal people use and deal ETH.
