1401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin accepting Electric Vehicle Public Charging Station on: March 04, 2016, 07:22:15 PM
I've already suggested the idea several times at trade fairs and various electric mobility events, but the people I've talked to were not much interested. There are some start-ups out there, but the companies who supply the electricity are big fish, with little interest towards unproven electronic currencies. They all favor the subscription model, by direct debit.
1402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First OpenBazaar transaction went through on: March 04, 2016, 07:16:30 PM
Oh, good to know. Thanks for info. It has been a long wait. I think I try to get on OB some 2 years ago, finally the wait is over. I hope the project will be successful. I know very well how much enthusiasm it raised at the beginning, but after so much delay, many people have looked elsewhere...
1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 01, 2016, 08:49:51 PM
I've sold all my ETH when they reached 0.015 BTC. I feel bad about it now that they're over 0.017, but frankly I feel safe. I don't like it when I'm in front of something I don't understand. There's just no reason why ETH is gaining so much value so fast. Can anyone explain what's going on? The market is irrational. Hey, the quicker the rise, the quicker the fall.
1404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I helping by running a 30Kb/s node on: February 27, 2016, 05:53:34 PM
I've always thought a node should be kept running 24/7. I sure appreciate your willingness to help, and you DO help, we thank you all for what you do, but keep in mind you are not doing much.
1405  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pope attacks Trump saying he is 'not Christian' on: February 27, 2016, 05:42:50 PM
You had a choice. You could have made an apology and say you didn't know anything about the Vatican, but you didn't, so you've lost all credibility.

ROFLMAO! Seriously?

WTF do you think you are? If you cant fathom the truth, then please don't post here. Also, I am not living in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, where blasphemy is punishable by death. You are having some serious issues. By any chance, did you happened to hold the position of a choir boy in any of the Catholic churches, during your childhood?

It is you, Mr Coleman, who doesn't want to face the truth. Please, go to the Vatican, and see by yourself. It's evident from what you wrote that you've never been there, and have no idea of how it is inside. And no, I've never been a choir boy. You have a lot of imagination, I prefer to watch and learn.

Hey,

I don't know you but please stop losing your time and energy Wink
Coleman is just a random dumb person who likes to spread huge hoaxes without checking his sources ever. He sees the world in ONE way and everything different is bad and lies, and everything going in his way of seeing things is good and trues.
He will never apologize for anything cause he can't recognize he's wrong Wink

So just add him to your ignore list and keep going! Cheesy

Yes, thanks for advice. I guess that some days I just have time to lose...

Lincoln wasn't exactly a Christian, same for Jefferson. So it's not mandatory.
http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/02/12/almost-all-u-s-presidents-have-been-christians/

But don't forget US president has to pledge on the Bible, so he definitely can't be a Muslim or a Jew that's for sure.

Absolutely. That doesn't make the US a Christian nation, but most founding fathers were protestant, and all US presidents have always shown huge respect to the Bible and all Christians. I guess Trump has more belief in the US$, then again, it's written on it "In God we trust".

1406  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revocation of the citizenship and exile as a punishment on: February 27, 2016, 05:29:46 PM
The idea is to strip-off citizenship from the convicted felon instead of putting him in prison. Government of his home country can sign a contract with one of the poorest states in the world (Burundi, Malawi, Liberia etc), so in exchange for some monetary compensation the poor country would grant him a citizenship, then his home country will revoke his nationality and expel convict to the poor state.

Compensation for the poor country will be order of magnitude lower than costs keeping him in prison, but deterring effect much stronger than prison time because most people would choose to spend some time in US or EU prison instead of spending rest of life in Sub-Saharan Africa!

You can't do that anymore. Even sending home some nationals is problematic. I remember reading an article about an Algerian national who had committed several crimes in France. When he left jail, he was put in a plane with 2 French policemen to make sure he would leave France, except that meanwhile, Algeria had cancelled his citizenship, so the guy had to to be flown back to France, where I guess he still lives!

Poor countries have their own problems with their own people, and they don't want more problems with foreigners. Even with a payment.
1407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm trying to create a 100% Bitcoin powered music career. Any tips? on: February 27, 2016, 05:18:53 PM
The only thing you should take care of is to make great music. Success will come if you have talent. Now, I would suggest to forget the whole idea of selling songs. Everybody in the cryptocurrency world is good with computers. We all know how to download music (and movies) for free, and we do. You only need a very basic website, you may not even need one. Being all social networks may be enough. Upload videos of all your performances on Youtube, and add at the end that you'll do concert for BTC.
1408  Other / Politics & Society / Re: online credit cards on: February 24, 2016, 11:43:18 PM
Why don't get a Bitcoin debit card? It's a good solution. It's accepted like any other debit or credit card and you have full control on your funds.

I have heard of bit  coin debit card. It will be really good if it works in all countries. Can you tell any site which is offering bitcoin debit card for most the  countries and also free to issue ?

I'm using Xapo and I'm very satisfied. I have used it in my own country and in many countries abroad without any issues or problems at all. I'm from Europe if that helps you but you can check all the details on their web site
https://xapo.com/

I have a Skrill card and it doesn't work at gas stations, or places which have an additional charge called "padding". I've been surprised to read on Xapo accepts this system, only with a €85 limit, which is quite low (so, you can't rent a car with it).

Have you ever been refunded with the Xapo card? Cos, I made one payment with the Skrill card which was later rejected. I've been told last Saturday, that I shall be refunded within 7 days, and I'm still waiting. So I'd like to know if Xapo would be any better.
1409  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 10 Most Expensive Virginities Ever Sold on: February 24, 2016, 11:34:29 PM
Some people don't know the world they're living in. In several African countries, you can buy a "fresh" girl for $500. Or less. What? She'll be black? Does that mean she's worth less? I'm sure it's also possible to get a cheap girl in Thailand, or Cambodia. It won't be the girl selling herself, though. Her parents would arrange the deal. It's awful, but when a family if 5 or more has a monthly income below $100, every option, no matter how sad, is on the table.
1410  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hate Speech should be legalized - Hate Speech is Free Speech on: February 24, 2016, 11:23:32 PM
Of course, it is free speech, but free speech is a lost cause in most of Europe. The US is the last big country where free speech is allowed. In France, some people have been sent to jail for spreading terrorist ideas. In the UK, supposedly a free country, one guy has been sent to jail for offensive tweets. Same thing in Germany for glorifying the third Reich.

1412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strip Club Visitors Told to Pay Bitcoin Ransom or Risk Character Assassination on: February 24, 2016, 11:07:42 PM
Why would anyone pay that ransom? This isn't like having an affair. This is no cheating. The guys went to a strip-club. Or is that club actually a brothel in disguise? Do they have pictures of men with their hands on the bum of a waitress? If it's only pictures a car parked on the street in front of the club, there's no need for alarm.
1413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'll try to pay my dentist with BTC on: February 24, 2016, 12:09:37 AM
Well, it was worth trying, but it won't happen. I used my most enthusiastic voice, but my Hungarian dentist had never heard of BTC. With other people waiting, there was simply not enough time to explain, let alone convince about the virtues of the electronic currency. I guess I'll try again next year.
1414  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you with or against "the U.K. quits the European Union" ? on: February 24, 2016, 12:06:27 AM
The UK needs the EU much more now than when it joined in 1973. Just look at trade data. The UK alone cannot even feed its population. If all trade with the EU would stop, the British would starve to death. That won't happen of course, it just means the UK must have good relations with its major trade partners.
1415  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tony Blair admits he is baffled by rise of Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn on: February 24, 2016, 12:00:15 AM
Being part of the establishment doesn't matter much. What's surprising here is that those guys are promoting ideas which belong to the past. I just don't understand how those 2 guys can get young supporters. Are they all losers, unable to get a job, nor a date? Is supporting Jeremy Corbyn the last step before joining IS?
1416  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pope attacks Trump saying he is 'not Christian' on: February 23, 2016, 11:55:28 PM
This is getting ridiculous! You grabbed some names somewhere, and you say you mixed up hotels with museums, but that just shows you don't know anything about the subject. The names of palaces you give, there's a museum, a library, and the Sistine Chapel (!) in there. I have to agree the Sistine Chapel is a huge room, and that it could house many refugees, but I'm not sure it would the most appropriate place for them. I don't think anyone but you has ever suggested to use it as a shelter for refugees.

I am not talking about the chapels and libraries. Don't divert the topic. I was talking about the guesthouses, residence of the arch-priest, palaces, and the Swiss guard barracks.

I'm not diverting the topic, you are. You talked of hotels, the Palace of Saint Charles, the Apostolic Palace. Not me, you did. There are no empty palaces in the Vatican, and we may doubt there is single free room in the Swiss guard barracks, since security has been increased several times those past few years.

You had a choice. You could have made an apology and say you didn't know anything about the Vatican, but you didn't, so you've lost all credibility.

Indeed, there are a lot of Catholic nunneries which have plenty of room.  I know of at least one which I visited when I lived in the Bay Area.  Come to think of it, every one of the many Catholic monasteries or whatever-the-hell they were had walls and fences all around it and not a lot of riff-raff within the confines.  I will admit that one with a nunnery did have some crazy religious lady in the parking lot who told us about the nuns.  It was down in or near San Jose IIRC.

Yes, definitely. In Northern Italy, there are some large buildings which are not much used these days, but we must keep in mind those buildings are anything but modern. They all have very high ceilings which make them difficult (or costly) to heat. That wasn't an issue with monks who were used to live without any comfort, but it would be more difficult nowadays. Also, don't expect anything looking like a bathroom close to the bedrooms.

1417  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pope attacks Trump saying he is 'not Christian' on: February 22, 2016, 11:44:44 PM
Mr Coleman, if you say you've been to the Vatican, you're a LIAR!

I'm sorry to point it out, but had you been there, you you would know there are no hotels. I'm not saying there's only a few hotels, I'm saying the truth which is that there isn't a single hotel in the whole country. No hotels, and there's never been one. Guest houses? No guest houses either. Not a single one. I suppose they have some guest rooms, but I know that when they have a congress, some priests have to sleep outside the Vatican, so there should not be many of them.

Calm down ya batty! There are a large number of palaces in Vatican. When I meant "hotels", I was referring to them. Examples are Palace of Saint Charles, Apostolic Palace, Belvedere Palace.etc. Then there are other buildings such as the Swiss Guards Barracks, Domus Sanctae Martae guesthouse, and the Residence of the arch-priest. You are claiming that none of these buildings can be used for housing a few dozen refugees?

This is getting ridiculous! You grabbed some names somewhere, and you say you mixed up hotels with museums, but that just shows you don't know anything about the subject. The names of palaces you give, there's a museum, a library, and the Sistine Chapel (!) in there. I have to agree the Sistine Chapel is a huge room, and that it could house many refugees, but I'm not sure it would the most appropriate place for them. I don't think anyone but you has ever suggested to use it as a shelter for refugees.

Just like Buckingham palace. Please write to the Queen to tell her she should house refugees. And don't forget the Harrods store. It's closed at night, but thousands of homeless would be happy to sleep there.
1418  Economy / Economics / Re: Is America a failed nation? on: February 22, 2016, 11:34:55 PM
All nations are failures for men. They were invented to enslave free men. A nation can only survive by enslaving its people, so if people revolt, or just stop supporting it, the nation just fail. It just vanishes like it would have never existed, and that's good. Imagine a world where nobody would have a passport. That's a dream.
1419  Economy / Economics / Re: How can my country lose money if I send bitcoins away? on: February 21, 2016, 07:28:07 PM
This isn't about BTC, it's about income and spending in different places, and it's very common. For a while, I've been working in Switzerland (higher pay) while living in France (cheaper rent), thousands of people do that everyday. There are also many Africans earning money in Europe and sending it to their family at home. Don't worry about it.
1420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the network really congested? on: February 21, 2016, 07:23:23 PM
Am I the only one to remember what happened last July? I had one transaction which didn't go through, and another which took more than 12 hours to get confirmed. This may happen again next week. I agree BTC's running fairly well most of the time, but we shall not hide from the fact that we are very close to the limits. To sum it up, we're walking along the cliff!
