1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is getting out? on: March 24, 2017, 06:51:31 PM
Someone buys and someone sells, price is not important measure for BTC. When you browse archives few years before you can find almost identical questions and doubts in this forum, what is wrong here?

I think otherwise, price is important measure for BTC in traders view.  As a matter of fact, I do not care if BTC will scale or not, it is the developers job.  I am here to take advantage of the opportunity that Bitcoin gives.  I will use it or trade it as long as it benefits me.
1702  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading on: March 23, 2017, 04:14:45 PM
In altcoin trading,is day trading profitable or trading on a long term basis?
if you are an experience trader? " Day trading" is very profitable because altcoins price fluctuations every minute. To me long terms is not even good for bitcoin talk more of altcoins as the price can not face a directions continuously in a month this creates opportunity for day trader.
Agreed, day trading is much fastest in growing profit than anything else in this industry. Though, it has risk involved anyway but that's normal. every minutes there is bouncing price value happened in the trading platform, meaning you will go with flow of motion in the exchange site market, you will act like a bot more quicker than a bot something like that.
Day trading is better way of profiting through bitcoin. The same cannot be used as a profiting source by every user due to time constraints. With trading the goodness is the regular difference occurring with bitcoin which reduces the risk of losing. Also at times preferring altcoins to bitcoin trade too help in profiting high.
So, unlike long term investment and saving bitcoin for months probably years, day trading involves profiting from short term movements of bitcoin market, this can happen from minute to minute or even less, and since bitcoin has less market cap putting in and taking out from it can push the price one way or another, in easy words if someone out their exchanges like 3 btc into cash that is going to make price move.

Day trading take advantage of fluctuation of the coin on its day to day basis.  If you can do this right, you can have a bigger profit than those who just hold their coins for a very long time.  The reason is that, since we are taking advantage of the fluctuation, we buy and sell when profit is seen.  Doing this stuff, we can get profit while increasing our holding of the coin without spending another cent instead we get profit then buy that profit to get more coins.
1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Exchanges Unveil Emergency Hard Fork Contingency Plan on: March 23, 2017, 02:59:03 PM
This thing might have been answered several times but still I cannot understand why do we need a hardfork when softfork is available,  aside from that, is  it really necessary that a hardfork is needed In order to upgrade bitcoin features?  Sorry for being so noob about this but I do believe that there is a strong reason why these exchanges are so against the hardfork.

though soft methods are available. where by the pools get to vote.
nodes matter. if there are not a good amount of nodes validating the data diversely than data could be corrupted by one party saying "follow me" and non validators blindly accept them. this is a risk

nodes are important. and we should not aimlessly let the node count be turned into a TIER network of one brand setting the rules and other brands playing pass the parcel of data its not checking.

Since you said that nodes matter, I do think Bitcoin Core had been fair here by bypassing node voting since as far as I can see majority of nodes support/uses Bitcoin Core features.  If they use it (letting node vote than miners) the possibility of Segwit being implemented is bigger than letting the miners to vote for the implementation.  (That is if I understand it right)

aside from that, is  it really necessary that a hardfork is needed In order to upgrade bitcoin features?
No. Well, some things can't be done with a soft fork but there aren't any planned hard forks that 'upgrade' existing or add new features.

I get  this as Bitcoin Core believe that hardfork is not needed for the added update / upgrade for the Bitcoin features regarding scaling issue of Bitcoin.  I also read that even with implementation of Segwit the onchain spam won't be solved is that true?

1705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: March 23, 2017, 03:24:12 AM
Bitcoin's only competition is Gold and other precious metals because they have a limited supply. Bitcoin is only maxed at 21 million coins and if that limit gets reached then the people will want the coins or there might be only one person with all the supply at the end and nobody will want to purchase it. Having precious metals could get noticed by many people and they will want some of that as well so the price of precious metals will have a longer term of value compared to Bitcoin.

I do not think Bitcoin and gold are competitor.  They are two different items.  Bitcoin is digital, gold is physical.  Bitcoin is intended to be a currency  thought people called it a store of value while gold, aside from being store of value have several usage in electronics world.  If we look for Bitcoin competitor, it should be in the same field with Bitcoin.  Looking at its field , there are lots but nothing comes close.
1706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: the easiest way to make a profit from gambling? on: March 19, 2017, 09:41:24 PM
Even with all the freebies and bonuses, there is always a catch whenever you avail them.  You need to undergo certain requirements and fulfill a bet in order for you to withdraw your winnings with that bonus.  This simply means that there is no easy way to make a profit from gambling.  Though betting is easy but winning is getting difficult and difficult the longer you play.
1707  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell or wait? on: March 19, 2017, 09:17:18 PM
At the current dip of Bitcoin price, it is better to hold your Bitcoin.  It is always not wise to sell your holding when every one are in panic.  Best would be buy more. And when it recovers its price, you can sell the Bitcoin you bought with profit.  A simple but effective way of getting profit from trades.
1708  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price is recovering! on: March 19, 2017, 09:00:26 PM
I really don't know what crash the price initially,or maybe is just the handiwork of whales shaken off weak hands, people need to see beyond the present price of Bitcoin, once the scaling issue is resolved I believe we are set for the moon

Probably an announcement from several exchanges about the fork.  Because there is no reason for Bitcoin to drop in price until the announcement where made.  But I think people who wanted to buy at a lower price came into the scene and push the button of Bitcoin to recovery.  I hope this recovery will continue until we are back on where we are before this dip.

1709  Economy / Economics / Re: Which one is good, trading or investing? on: March 19, 2017, 07:46:40 PM
Both are good.  They are almost done in a chronological order.  If you want to invest in a business and do not have much money to start one then you can start with savings.  Then if you have enough you can invest it to the business that you have planned.  They both have important role in order to secure our future so I think neither of them is better or worse.
1710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: March 19, 2017, 07:20:10 PM
Gambling is no way profitable in the long term.  Just think of the scenario where a house have an advantage.  No matter what we do, we definitely cannot beat the house especially when planning to play gambling for a very long time.  House edge always kick in, no matter what strategy we use.
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving bitcoins on: March 18, 2017, 08:03:45 AM
Saving in bitcoin at least 10% of your earning will really help your life one day.  Due to the ever increasing of Bitcoin price, the once 10% would be equal to 100% of your earnings that time due to BTC increased value.

Even with 5% if the 10% is too much especially to those who's salary are enough for their daily needs.  5% of income converted to Bitcoin and hold it for a very long time, 5 to 10 years maybe.  It may not that much today but I am sure this will have a good price after 5 years and what more if 10 years had past.
1712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much of your wealth is in Cryto/Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2017, 06:51:00 AM
I do not have any percentage of my wealth in cryptcurrency since I am not that rich and still trying to grasp about cryptocurrency.  If ever I have the grasp of it and find it beneficial to me, I will have 70% of my earnings to cryptocurrency and just 30% as money for spending.
1713  Economy / Economics / Re: Why dumps are important on: March 18, 2017, 06:14:37 AM
I do agree that market needs some dumps for more spread.  This is what helps Bitcoin to be stable, by bringing in more hands that will support the network and economy.  Few people cannot sustain the system for very long time so they need much more people involved in it.  With this, there will be more fund to flow in the economy and more people advertising Bitcoin to invite new comer to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
1714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better? To gamble or to invest? on: March 18, 2017, 04:56:26 AM
first, you need to understand what is an investment and then you can ask this question.
this ponzi schemes you are talking are definitelly worse than gambling...

gambling is a hobby, you cant have it as a way to earn money.
I think investing is much better than gambling. Because if you gamble you may have a chance to lose a lot of money, you only have 50% chance to win a lot of money. But if you invest you may have a chance to earn more money.

I don't think we will have even that 50% chance to make a money from gambling because if you gamble for longer hours then most likely that winning chance percentage will be very less and house surely will at the end. So as you said it is best to invest in gambling sites bankrolls to make some decent profit over the time and remember to diversify your funds to reduce you losses.

I agree.  You have said it clearly that we have less than 50% chance to make money from gambling.  This is because Casino have house edge.  And mathematically we are bound to lose in the long run.  So I guess it is better to invest in a house bankroll because there is a bigger chance that your money will earn a profit.
1715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So no one cares about ETF decision, right? on: March 17, 2017, 08:48:49 AM
Bitcoin is still growing and does not yet belong on etf markets. ETF'S are to similar to stock markets, which would only taint the purity of bitcoin and demoralize the values it stands for. Bitcoin is better off independent until it matures and is managed by new era leaders and agents  of this generation. The world needs new money, new leaders and new ideas to move into new era.

Probably you have a point but, I also think that Bitcoin does not need an ETF because as decentralized system, anyone can join Bitcoin economy.  They don't need the approval of SEC to join the community.  After all Bitcoin and regulation does not fit together.
1716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Studios: the first knowledge hub for South East Asia on: March 17, 2017, 08:37:16 AM
Hello everyone!

We wrote an article about the newest blockchain incubator, Satoshi Studios, and we think its a great development in the region especially to countries who are starting to embrace Bitcoin and blockchain. This will result to more blockchain applications from south east asia and increased adoption across the region.

What are your thoughts about this? Let us know  Smiley

Your efforts in making that article was nice but the only problem is how would you make people especially the masses who dont know what is bitcoin read your story. Thus it is not sufficient enough writing an article about bitcoin if you dont make a promotion so that everybody could read your article. But I dont have anymore to comment except for the promotion, your website is well made as well as the articles was written clearly.

I agree no matter how great is the site and its article if it is not promoted well, it will do only a little.  Aside from that I think you should have translated article in their languages.  Most of South East Asian people have difficulty in understanding English, though translator helps but the sentence structure is way different which can cause misunderstanding.  About Promotion, I think facebook is the best place to promote your site.  SEA are fond of using facebook.
1717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: March 17, 2017, 04:22:18 AM
If you pay attention to other crypto currencies, bitcoin is not the only one of its kind, but it is users who make valuable crypto currency due to the demand, and consequently popularity.

It's not about attention, it's all about which crypto currency will give you more profit in future because everyone invest their money to gain profit as a result. So bitcoin has great importance in the market that's why it's demands increases day by day.

If we are talking about profits, then altcoin has more wild fluctuation that can give you more profit than Bitcoin.  But I do not think people look only to that.  People wants more stable in terms of support crytocurrency that is why, bitcoin is said to be no competitors at all.  But when it comes to technology, there are far more advance altcoins than Bitcoin.
1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: March 15, 2017, 11:09:38 PM
If you pay attention to other crypto currencies, bitcoin is not the only one of its kind, but it is users who make valuable crypto currency due to the demand, and consequently popularity. But if you consider the real currency as a competitor bitcoin, then I think that this is wrong.

Well if fiat currency is Bitcoin competitor I can say Bitcoin had already lost its battle.  But in terms of cryptocurrency, Bitcoin being the first mover has almost no competitor at all.  Almost those that wanted to overthrow Bitcoin as leading cryptocurrency failed the moment they intend to do so.
1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin bring any country on its knees? on: March 15, 2017, 10:49:54 PM
I do not think Bitcoin will bring anyone country to its knee.  First it won't be adopted as main currency and if ever acknowledge will always be an alternative.  Nation won't make use of Bitcoin to run its economy so definitely it has not much negative effect on a country's financial status.
1720  Other / Off-topic / Re: How are you earning BTC? on: March 14, 2017, 11:34:20 PM
At the current situation, I am earning BTC thru signature campaign and the amount I earned from the campaign is planned to be used in trading.  I wanted to venture trading because I heard the opportunity of earning there is boundless once we familiarize ourselves and learned the curves of it.
