De Villiers when he gets going there’s no bowler in the world who can stop him, he had a rough start early on in the season but it looks likes he’s back in form. While it’s too early to say how long will he alone be able to score runs and win the match for Rcb, but so far he’s looking good but he needs support from his teammates. As for the World Cup he had his reasons to retire, and now he looks determined to win the IPL trophy for Bangalore.
I did not expect him to recover his form so quickly, but he is playing brilliantly and he is basically the Russell of RCB currently. One more loss and they are out of the tournament which is why every team member needs to give it their best and win every game if they wish to qualify for the playoffs.

~snip I'm sure that India will do just fine playing on English pitches as they showed that they can play well on similar pitches in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year so I'm not too worried about India playing on English pitches. I also think New Zealand is a danger team and can upset the top teams on their day so I would dismiss them. Like I said its going to be a exciting World Cup as there are at least 5-6 teams that can win.
I heard some where that in this world cup edition home country (ECB) doesn't have any say when creating pitches. ICC took over charge of pitches conditions and curators will work accordingly under ICC. So chances are we will see good batting ( Not very seaming or grassy wicket) pitches in world cup. I am wishing for good competitive wickets here so that we can see fierce contest between bat and ball. It has more to do with the weather conditions. During the summer season, the temperature in England is mild and there is a lot of humidity. It allows the growth of grass. Also, the conditions create more swing in the air as well. If the curators make it very very flat, then we may get a pitch that supports neither the seamers, nor the spinners. Else, the pace bowlers will get a lot of support. Lets just hope the pitches are fair for all teams but like I said India should be fine no matter how the pitches play as they have gained experience and shown that they can bat and bowl on any pitch now days and that's what the great teams can do. India now have a well balanced team that can take them far in any tournament.

Teams such as New Zealand and Pakistan can progress up to the semi-finals, but beyond that is not very likely. The other teams (AFG, BAN, WI, and SL) don't have the capability to advance to the semi-final stage.
Makes sense. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in a bad place right now and I cannot even imagine the state of the Sri Lankan team after the horrific incident in their country recently. I am expecting NZ and SA to reach the semis while Pakistan will lose in the quarters. In cricket match some time it is impossible to guess which one will prove themselves to be the world champion because now every team has their negatives but we have to wait and see how far the nations will prove themselves to be a champion. Sometime we will never expect which team will become the world champion.

Mainly Bangladesh is now passing difficult situation in Cricket world. They lastly played against NZ and did not win any match of the series. So I also think Bangladesh is not capable to reach semi-final.

~snip~ No hope for the rest? You are underestimating teams like NZ and overestimating teams like Pakistan. Pakistan might not even reach the quarters thanks to the state they are in currently.
Recent form is a major indicator of a teams performance and Aus, India, England have been performing really well in that area.
LOL yes, no hope for the rest but I have my wishes with them :-P Some of them might get place in the next round but taking the world cup race I would say the race is in between Australia India England I would like to say South Africa too but not sure much. I'd agree with your post. IMO, there are four teams that are capable of winning the trophy this time: India, England, Australia and South Africa (in that order of highest probability to the lowest). Teams such as New Zealand and Pakistan can progress up to the semi-finals, but beyond that is not very likely. The other teams (AFG, BAN, WI, and SL) don't have the capability to advance to the semi-final stage. South African have got no chance of winning the World Cup, as they just choke in the big matches. On the other hand, writing off West Indies is probably not a good idea, they can surprise everybody.

It all comes down to the team that can adapt to the English conditions the quickest based on my research. I am not expecting any surprises though. Yea you are that Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are now in very very bad position. Mainly Bangladesh is now passing difficult situation in Cricket world. I don't think Bangladesh are capable of reaching the quarters in their current form. They were actually a much better team in the past, but are completely messed up currently just like Pakistan.

Yes, Excatly. That's where curator comes in play. if they can leave little grass on the pitch then we can expect competitive contest between bat and ball. Winning the toss can play big part here as well. For example : Ball performing tricks during the first 10 overs then batsman need to show grit and determination to survive first spell, swing bowler and specially left arm swing bowler could be lethal. after that pitch will become easy to bat on. but on flat pitches (not dead wicket) good wrist spinner can do wonder if batsmen not taking him seriously. The longer you bat-stay on the pitch, it gets more easy to bat on during the middle overs.

The list of match officials for the tournament has been published by the ICC. There are a total of 22 officials and out of them only one is Indian (Sundaram Ravi). I was expecting this, as the preference is given to the umpires in the host country. I am not very pleased about the selection of Ravi either. Anyone remember the RCB vs MI match? Repeated errors from this guy cost RCB the match. He ignored a clear no ball from Malinga in the final over. And now he has been rewarded with a slot in the CWC 2019.

Hahaha I agree with you bro that he did terrible mistake during IPL's match but ... we should cut him some slack here because he is good umpire over all. Aleem Dar and Ian Gould did some mistake on same match and on the same ball (according to Bangladeshi point of view) Ian Gould did many mistakes as well Kumar Dharmasena did fair amount of mistakes too some time he was on field umpiring and some time as a third umpire. The point is they are human too but I agree that umpiring level going down as a overall and umpire should focus more on the game because every bad decision can change the tide anytime.

Everyone makes mistakes. You cannot simply displace him just because he messed up a couple of times here and there. It all comes down to consistency at the end of the day which is why they must have selected him. Lets see how he performs during the World cup.

Today I saw a news report about the possibility of West Indies being the dark horse in this edition of the tournament. What do you guys think? For sure, they have some great players and on a given day they are capable of beating any of the teams out there. Can they win the trophy, just like what Sri Lanka did in 1996? Look at their players: Russell, Gayle, Bravo, Lewis...

In my opinion, they have no chance of reaching the quarters since they perform nicely in T20 tournaments, but they aren't performing well in ODIs or tests in recent times which is why I don't think they are the dark horse.

I was impressed by Ireland sometime back, but they disappointed me later on which is why I will observe if any of these can consistently perform in the long term. Tier is a good thing but they should make it more transparent. Let 12 teams stay in tier one, hold worldcup with them. The lower two teams should relegate to the 2nd tier and the top 2 of the 2nd tier get their chances to the first. Same should be done with test cricket also. There should be no permanent privilege for any teams.

Why shouldn't teams get permanent privileges? They deserve such privileges completely and this applies to every single sport in the world. Some teams are just better than other teams at the end of the day and that will always stay true due to multiple factors like experience etc.

Morning all, hoping all you fellow cricket fans might be able to help me out with something... I'm currently planning to host a competition for the Cricket World Cup - free to enter with bitcoin prizes up for grabs. The idea was to run a basic match predictor, or bracket prediction competition, but we have done a few of those already and I was looking for a slightly different take on the format. My question is - are there any particular aspects of cricket games that you prefer to bet on other than the money line? Run Rate, fall of wickets, amount of boundaries, etc? I'd like to go with something a bit more fun than the usual 'who will win game x?' tournament. I know I'm basically asking you to do my job for me but hey Ronnie @ Cloudbet

There was some guy who was asking about sportsbooks where you could bet in the upcoming World Cup and I recommended your site and Sportsbet. I advise providing bets on boundaries and sixes since I am expecting many of them(Especially from the West Indian players).
