Will it bring improvement in Bangladesh bowling ?

This is the first time i am hearing about Ottis Gibson and hopefully he will help the Bangladesh team improve their bowling, i was checking who was their former bowling coach and i could not find any and in that case i do think he is the first bowling coach appointed by Bangladesh and if Ottis Gibson can help them improve the fitness and quality of bowling then it is great for the team.

Does the coach in cricket matter the most ? I don't think so. This is not football where a good coach can change the fortune of the team. Cricket is a different game altogether and a coach cannot make much different to a team.

I think you're wrong. A good coach is always needed in all games to win the matches. To come up with a good strategy against a strong team you need a good coach and captain for the team. There are a lot of things players can learn from these experienced coaches and it will help them then they are under stress.

Every match has a strategy and building the best team requires a good coach and a captain and the bowlers will plan and have a strategy to get the opposite batsman out and every batsman will prepare to face specific bowlers and coaching is an integral part in any sport, India reached the top during the reign of Gary Kirsten as a coach and Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the captain and they captured many tournaments including world cups as every player in the team has specific roles in the team and without a good coach these are not possible.

Very exciting match between England and Australia ongoing at the U-19 World Cup. Australia need 253 to win, and are comfortably placed at 127/2 after 25 overs. This can be explained with the matches played between teams with young players and the teams with experienced ones. Recently I saw it on the match between India and Bangladesh, when India lost the match the squad of India is full of young and new players. Finally in the third match where the series winner is decided Bangladesh has got the increased winning possibility. Here the lack of experience from the players and the lack of coaching caused them loss to India. So, unlike the game Coach is much more important.

India have won more U19 world cup as they won 4 till now and then comes Australia with 3 and then comes Pakistan won it twice. India is the defending champions and they are really strong to win and retain the cup this time around, i am also not following the matches this year but last year i watched a few matches because of some young fast bowling sensations.

If i was wrong then why the Bangladesh team was not able to make any significant improvement in their bowling department when they have hired a new good bowling coach ?  They lost the two T20s recently.

Ottis Gibson join Bangladesh recently. You can't expect a change within this short time. One of our key bowler is passing worst times. We are missing the one man army Shakib while the regular batsman with a significant average Mushfiq is also missing. You can't expect better performance with this team.

Ottis Gibson joined just before this series so its too early he need some time for better result no one can give any good result in just few days so be patience he will bring some good changes as he is good in coaching Bangladesh board spending good amount for long term results which is good for them and future bowlers.

The second phase of the U19 World Cup starts today. Two of the four Plate Quarter-Finals will be played and test nations will be involved in both of them. In the first QF, Sri Lanka U19 will take on Nigeria U19, while in the second QF, England U19 will take on Japan U19. Both England and Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the Super League. England was placed in a tough group along with West Indies and Australia, while Sri Lanka was placed along with India and New Zealand. Super League matches will start tomorrow.

Can you please not mixup the politics and game..? The decision of whether to play/tour or not will not be an independent decision of players. The board decides that and based on a yes or no, players will be asked.

Personally, I'm happy that countries are starting to tour to Pakistan, security is always a concern IMO.

Anyways just saw the news of Prithwi Shaw making a debut against New Zealand tomorrow, I have a bet on him as he have shown great talent and India may get a new opener for themselves.

Don't expect a lot from the youngster, things can pretty much go into the wrong direction. No, doubt Prithvi is good batsman but is a slow starter. I think this will be his first international debut.

Good to hear that big names will be travelling to Pakistan. If the game happens then it will be good for Pakistan team as the lack international match exposure.

The only concern for these teams will be security which I am sure Pakistan will provide by declaring a complete shutdown of that city. Which by the way they did when srilanka was playing in Pakistan.
