sorry to interrupt the heavy discussion, but is anyone having a punt in-play on big bash final?

Big bash final was won by Sydney sixers by 19 runs. Batting first they scored 116 runs with 5 wickets down. Melbourne stars failed to chase that score and were all out in 97 runs. Josh was the match of the match as he made 52 runs in 29 bowls only and turned the match in the favor of Sydney sixers. Also to mentioned that the match was reduced to 12 overs each.

Melbourne Stars was looking weak in the bowling department, probably due to the absence of Sandeep Lamichchane (he is currently playing a tri-series for Nepal against the United States and Oman in Kathmandu, which is a part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2). His replacement (Haris Rauf) proved very expensive in this match, and that was one of the reasons why they lost the match.

Now it is a very tricky question of choosing between your nation and the T20 franchise. But my personal opinion is that Sandeep should have chosen to play for the Stars instead of Nepal. Stars was the first franchise side to select him in their playing XI, and it was playing in the BBL that made him famous (and not his matches for Nepal).
Your all point is valid but as soccer Leagues cannot stop players from joining their National teams just one case they announces retirement for staying in League and Lamichane is still very young and he want to play for his country just because of this he go back home and playing in try nation Haris Rouf was good in early matches but fail to handle final pressure.

I'm glad that this final went ahead as it wasn't looking good with the bad weather Sydney was having. The Sydney sixers deserved this win even though I thought that they could of scored more runs but it was their bowling attack that won the sixers the game so all the credit goes to the bowlers and once again the stars lose another final. That's two BBL finals in a row they have lost and I just wonder when they will ever win a final as they seem to choke in finals.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Sandeep Lamichhane is the only player with international/franchise experience in the Nepal team. So they wanted him to play the League 2 matches. These matches are very crucial for Nepal, as the outcome of these matches eventually decide how much international exposure and the volume of funds from the ICC they will receive. I would say that Nepal needed Sandeep Lamichhane much more than the Stars.

It is not a war you dumb!! It is only a game, there is nothing to be afraid of..  Influence comes with money. Apart from India, Australia and England which other cricket playing nation is generating revenue for ICC.
These are contrasting statements, if it is simply a game then why the political intervention, involving politics with a sporting event is not a good concept.

India is a different nation now and the government of India has a completely different approach towards Pakistan. BCCI cannot do anything without the governments permission.
Apart from cricket India and Pakistan are playing other sports and that is the double game of the political system from what i understand. The ICC is not getting involved because of the money power and the ICC should take actions irrespective of the wealth to weed out politics from cricket.

I have to remind everyone that recently the BCCI had faced a lot of setbacks during the ICC meetings. All the other countries grouped against India, when the plan for annual fund allocation was presented. As a result, the fund allocation for BCCI was reduced significantly. Now the BCCI is with a new president (Sourav Ganguly) and he has said that BCCI will fight against any loss of its dominance.

Dear some time ago we was hearing about Big 3 which was flopped idea because others face not good so then ICC drop this idea now we are facing some other troubles as you already saying Ganguly is going to fight against dominance so I am feeling its not good we have many other organisations which are handling sports and have no issues like these because these all working with mutual understanding and respect of others here as India came in power we have many troubles which need intention from others as well but India  want all things under their control which is not good for spirit of cricket.

I am not aware of the inside battle but money always rules and India does provide the bigger share of profit for ICC but this is the only sport where a single entity controls over the other boards and the international board if that is the case. I just watch cricket and not following these battles but we need to have a fair resolve rather than a battle who reigns supreme.

You cannot rule out money in every game. I am sure Sourav Ganguly will change a lot of things within BCCI as he did when he was leading the Indian team. India is not looking to control ICC, India is only asking it's fair share as it is the only country that has been promoting cricket and generating revenue for the game.

The other countries are not comfortable with the higher share given to the BCCI. They argue that every other sports body treats the nations equally and there should not be any discrimination in cricket as well. For example, the funds given by FIFA to Brazil or Germany is lower when compared to the amount that is transferred to India and China every year.

From what i understand the majority of the revenue that ICC earns comes with the help of India and so is the reason they are having some voice when it comes to these allocation, i want to see India and Pakistan play cricket as it was once the most anticipated series after Ashes but the political intervention and their political tensions deprived the fans from watching these high octane matches and if it was any other country i am sure the ICC should intervene.

Oh.. not again. We had hundreds of posts here discussing a resumption of cricketing ties between India and Pakistan. But we needs to be realistic. To be honest, I don't think that a bilateral series between these two nations will happen during the next 10-15 years. As of now, these two teams are facing each other in the ICC tournaments and I guess we should be happy with these matches.

Being a non-pakistani and a non-indian cricket fan, it clear as air the cricket council is centered towards BCCI. Largely could be due to the monetary value the Indian fans hold.
This is hurting the adoption of cricket in the long run. Though they have softened for associate teams, they are still not as friendly as any other sports community is.
They are even boycotting a major team due to political influence of BCCI. That is the last thing people would expect from a game that calls itself a gentlemen sport.

Politics is interlinked with sports nowadays and my personal opinion is that you can't just put the blame on cricket. Other sports are also not free from the influence of politics. Russia was banned from Olympics for the use of Meldonium, while the American gymnast Simone Biles (who won the gold) was let scot free for the usage of the same drug. The excuse given that she needs the medication for her ADHD medication. How bizarre this sounds? Who needs a performance enhancing drug such as Meldonium to treat ADHD? And similarly, Russian Maria Sharapova was banned for the usage of Meldonium, while the Williams sisters tested positive for it and yet faced no action against them.

Politics and money were always associated with sports. Without money big sporting events cannot be organised nor without governement authorization. BCCI is not holding the cricket council. It is a democratically operated council. Adoption of cricket is going as the way it should, Indian board is not stopping any country to play cricket.

BCCi is most rich board in cricket just because of this they have some strong influence on ICC but they have no power to stop any country from playing cricket but they are disturbing things very badly which is very bad political and economical influence happend in sports but not like this as they are doing right now just dual policy and dirty politics nothing else.

They are even boycotting a major team due to political influence of BCCI. That is the last thing people would expect from a game that calls itself a gentlemen sport.
Your statements are illogical to a large degree. You do realize that the Indian team is one of the major contributors towards the sport of Cricket, don't you? India and Australia have been the most dominating entities in the sport of Cricket over the years which is why it is understandable why BCCI primarily influences the ICC.

Cricket as a sport has become a lot more popular over time which is why I have no idea why you people are interested in mixing it with dirty politics. Cricket is one of the most dignified sports out there(Just watch Soccer and NBA to get an idea as to how dirty they can get at times).

BCCi is most rich board in cricket just because of this they have some strong influence on ICC but they have no power to stop any country from playing cricket but they are disturbing things very badly which is very bad political and economical influence happend in sports but not like this as they are doing right now just dual policy and dirty politics nothing else.

I am not a big fan of BCCI. It has been under the control of powerful politicians and businessmen, who care only about profits. But at the same time, it is not right to blame them for the cancellation of bilateral tours between India and Pakistan. In India, the public opinion is not in favor of any renewed sports relations with Pakistan. So there is not much the BCCI can do about it.
