Some people just don't get it. They act like they know everything and fail to do proper research. They are acting like the commonwealth is one part of the world and the rest of the world is another part.
Hilarious indeed. They probably were never interested in Cricket to begin with which is why they make these wild and silly statements.
Obviously you can't compare cricket with a sport such as Football. For example, football is being played in all the continents by almost all the UN members. To be fair, cricket is also played in more than 80 nations, but in most cases these "national" sides are 100% composed of expat Indian and Pakistani players. You can check cricket teams such as UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia.etc, which don't have a single citizen as a player. Why can't you compare Cricket with Football? Soccer is the most popular sport in the world while Cricket is the 2nd most popular sport in the world. Both sports are famous around the world, but more countries are involved in the game of Soccer. Also, the players origin does not matter. What counts is which country they represent. For example, Imran Tahir is from Pakistan, but represents South Africa.

A well deserved merit for the statement and the example. I am not sure why origin matters so much? Anyway, I am off from the debate since there are no point to debate. I will come back when the hell freezes over :-P

The first (and last) T20i match between England and Pakistan seems to be getting interesting, as the opener Babar Azam and 2-down batsman Haris Sohail both have reached half-centuries. IMO, they're going to give England the target of about 175 to 180 runs, which will definitely be defendable.

As expected, this was a cake walk for England due to a bad bowling effort by Pakistan. Archer carried his great form from IPL into the match while Morgan seems to be in excellent touch. Nothing surprising at all.

Tom Curran also bowled really well. Perhaps the selectors may get unhappy about the performance by Archer, as they had overlooked him for the world cup squad. On top of that Willey's performance was not that great. But they can always justify their choice by saying that ODI is different from T20 and also they can argue that Pakistan is a relatively weak team.

Tom Curran bowled excellently indeed, but I am still surprised that they did not select Archer for the World Cup Squad. Absolute stupidity. Archer has been in excellent form recently. Will miss watching him bowl in the World Cup.

I didn't expect Pakistan to score such a big one. I always had the feel that there's batsman are in no way to make a big score. I'm wrong, proved. Pakistan can have a better world cup if their batsman can perform well. Since their bowlers are good, not decent though.

It was good to see Warner and Smith back playing for Australia again yesterday in their warm up match against New Zealand in Brisbane. Warner didn't open the batting but came in at number 3 and batted well for his 39 however Smith didn't do as well getting out for 22. It will be interesting to see how Australia work out the top order as maybe Khawaja can go down to number 3 where he used to bat and have Warner open with Finch.

It will be a tough decision to take although I think same mostly as you think. Khawaja was never a good batsman at 3rd position while at opening, he got brilliant success in recent series. On the other hand, it will bw foolish if Australia think of Warner to play at 3, he is best at open. He will be there. Now that Finch and Khawaja, one of them, probably Khawaja will play opening. If not. I guess Khawaja will not be selected for the playing XI in world cup. Better we discuss those at world cup thread.

Really good to see Warner and Smith back in the game but the concern will be the form of Smith after a long suspension from international cricket, Warner is striking the ball even in the IPL but i could not see the old touch of Smith, would like to see Warner to open along with Finch and Khawaja to come at one down followed by Smith and Marsh. I guess Khawaja will not be selected for the playing XI in world cup.
Khawaja is one of the in form batsmen for Australia in the past few months and you think he wont be selected is just silly.

I would like to see Warner and Finch open followed by Khawaja coming it at one down. The primary problem with Australia is that their middle order has not been firing lately based on what I have seen. Handscomb could have been a good middle order batsman.

Guys anyone is watching Bangladesh vs West Indies? After winning the toss WI elected to bat and so far they have scored 64 runs without losing any wickets after 12.1 over.
What is your prediction?
We have an IPL match too today.

Bangladesh performs really well in conditions where it will help the spinners and they have some good spinners in their team and check all of their wins because their spinners are potent in Asian conditions and since they are playing in Dublin there is no way the pitch will help their bowlers and if West Indies can post a huge total, i really do not see Bangladesh chasing that.

Looks like WI is aiming for 300+ runs. This latest partnership is responding well. Hope is outstanding. Few runs away from his 2nd century in this tournament.

West Indies is losing wickets at constant intervals which is why I don't think they will post a total greater than 300 and will instead settle somewhere close to 280 primarily thanks to Hope and a couple of other batsmen. I am expecting Bangladesh to win this one.

I am too seeing hope for Bangladesh. At one stage WI were looking like they will score 300+ runs very easily but now after 48.2 overs they managed to score 251 for 8 wickets. May be they will add more 15 runs (max)? Bangladesh batsmen are capable to chase this run if they manage to get good partnership.

I actually thought Smith did okay in the IPL, remember he is also coming off an injury which might take some time to get 100% fit and healthy again. There is no doubt that Warner needs to open the batting along with Finch which means Khawaja will go down to number 3 or maybe Australia can try him at number 4 and have Smith at number 3 to sure up the middle order. I think we'll see a lot of changes through out the warm up matches with most teams but Australia is the one I'll be watching the most to see what they do with the top order.

No one deserve permanent privilege. For example, look at Zimbabwe. They are still having the test status, despite performing below par for more than a decade now. IMO, there are far better teams out there, which deserve test status. On top of that because of their test status they receive 10 times more funding from the ICC, when compared to the other teams such as Nepal and Netherlands.
Politics destroyed cricket in Zimbabwe, there was a time when they had top class players like the Flower brothers (Andy and Grant), Eddo Brandes, Alistair Campbell, Neil Johnson, Heath Streak, Murray Goodwin and right now they do not deserve test status, Afghanistan has a much better team than Zimbabwe. As expected, Bangladesh will easily win this one. Iqbal and Sarkar played really well though they missed out on centuries. Remaining players will make sure they win this one easily. This is why West Indies is not the dark horse of this tournament.
Bangladesh surprised me with this match, i thought they will choke outside the sub continent but they batted really well and the openers gave a good start. Is West Indies playing their top players in this tournament or those players are still playing IPL, with Chris Gayle and Andre Russell in the world cup they can be the dark horses and those two players could change any match situation in their favor.
