That was an entertaining match to watch between England and Pakistan even though the bowling wasn't all that good but it was great batting by both teams. If this is anything to go by, then we are in for an exciting World Cup with hopefully many big totals like we saw today in this match.

Windies completed a superb run chase of 328 against Ireland and reach the final of Tri nation series.Ireland put 327 with the century of Andy but Windies was too good in the batting.Ambrose scored 148 runs and help the team to reach final.Ireland needs a miracle to reach the final.They must win next match against Bangladesh and If Bangladesh lose next match against Windies only then Ireland can qualify to Final.

The way Fakhar Zaman plays in English conditions is exceptional!

Not Typical English condition pitch per se. we can safely say its similar to Sub-continent pitch lol.

I was expecting Babar Azam to play big as well. unfortunately he didn't. Fakhar was looking different yesterday.

Pakistan middle order is not that bad. Haris Sohail form is very important for Pak. he can single-handedly. manage the middle order.

Exactly, the way their first four batsman played, I thought it will be easy win. Pakistan's top order really played brilliant. Haris Sohail and Imad Wasim may change the result but they were not able to play a better.
If Pakistan won the match, it would be a great inspiration for them in the world cup, imo.

This was another great contest after the England vs Pakistan match. I did not expect Windies to chase down such a big total. Kudos to them for achieving it and proving me wrong.

They deserved to reach the final and could win it unless they play horrible cricket.

Exactly, the way their first four batsman played, I thought it will be easy win. Pakistan's top order really played brilliant. Haris Sohail and Imad Wasim may change the result but they were not able to play a better.

Yes you could be right my friend, the team with the strongest middle order could be the team to win the World Cup. That is where an all rounder could be the game changer in a match, teams with a good all rounder I think could be the difference in winning and losing. I'll be keeping my eye on the warm up matches to see what teams do with their selections as we could get an idea on what teams are trying to do and line up once the World Cup starts.

The current IPL 2019 has concluded in a spectacular fashion and it was easily the most entertaining season among all seasons of IPL so far. MI truly deserved their 4th win and CSK basically threw the game away.

This season displayed which players are in form(MSD, Bumrah, Pandya etc) and which are out of form(Rohit, Virat, Vijay etc) who will be interesting to watch in the upcoming World Cup tournament.

I did not realize that today there was a match between Bangladesh vs West Indies.
Just checked the scorecard.
After winning the toss WI elected to bat and managed to score 247 runs after 50 overs.
I think Bangladesh will win this one too.

Any predictions?

This is very different from the conditions that had prevailed during the cricket world cup of 1999, when most of the teams were struggling to cross 200.

Vishnu Bhai, cricket has changed drastically, try to compare this era with 70's-80's just for fun (graveyard for batsmen) Those days are gone when Bowlers used to rule the cricket field

90's was the era when we had Solid competition between Bowlers and Batsmen. But now time has changed for good and arguably bad. Enjoy this change.

CSK basically threw away the chances they received. Watson was dropped 2 times and still managed to make himself run out in a horrible manner in the final over. MSD misjudged the overthrow though I still think that he should have been given not out due to the split camera views giving different verdicts.

As MSD said, the team that made less mistakes won overall.

3rd ODI between England and Pakistan is going to start within a couple of hours.  The last match was good for Batsmen from both sides, which means a nightmare for bowlers lol.  if Pakistan loses this match as well then they can't win this series because the first match already washed away due to rain and Pakistan team is lagging 0-1 right now in this 5 ODI series.

I am wishing for good contest between Bat and Ball in today's match. give some chance to bowlers too

It is not biased in the favor of any one of them. The same can't be said about the ODI cricket. It is heavily biased in favor of the batsmen. On top of that the bowlers have to deal with rule changes such as free-hit. If the competition is not equal, then in the end it may reduce the enthusiasm levels. I was someone who watched the CWC 1999 as a kid. And I definitely enjoyed the matches then, irrespective of the low team totals.

Agreed it should be balanced otherwise it can get boring easily. But nowadays spectators loves to watch their favorite batsmen or teams to hit sixes-four or big totals, so we have commercial angle too.

As long as test cricket is untouched.  I have no issues with big total in 20-20 format due to commercial point of view and little balanced pitches in the ODI.


Pakistan VS England

Pakistan inning is in progress and Pakistan lost 2 wickets. Fakhar Zaman failed in this match and got out cheaply. Sadly babar failed too despite getting solid start, he was timing very well and his straight drive and one pull shot was treat to watch. Chris Woakes got both wickets.

Imam looking good so far and building his inning nicely, however he was struggling against Woakes and Willey in start.

The reason for these rule changes to favor the batsmen in the shorter format is to attract advertisement and the amount of money they get from broadcasting rights, you just compare these two in the past twenty years and you will get the answer for the rule changes that favor the batsmen, the media companies are spending billions for the broadcasting rights and they are able to spent that much amount because they could get those amount back through advertisement and if the matches are short, it reduces the advertisement time and thus their profit. It is business and money changed the game of cricket .

Bangladesh is the dark horse for this years World Cup as on their day they are a very good cricket team. I can see them upsetting some of the top teams and even making it to the knock out stage of the tournament. The WI don't look good right now which is a shame after coming off a great series against England, they will need to improve if they have any chance at doing well in the World Cup.
