I think this is fair to ask for more detail on how the funds will be utilized.  A proper breakdown of anticipated manhours spent on the project, and how much you think that warrants as far as a salary.  Timeline on how many developers you anticipate, and at what stages, as well as feature roll outs, etc.  I find the project intriguing, but with ICO there is always skepticsm when dealing with that amount of BTC in funding.

you have to be kidding. lol.

Hi guys

Reading the OP now like 10 times, but have to ask what it is in here that cost 4000 BTC to develop, or even 800 BTC as you so kindly can do with ?

Many coins already claimed or have many of the ideas so once again what takes 4000 BTC to develop here..

THIS is no FUD I might invest in it if I get good answers, but for me this is like draining the market for things that can be develop for much less money. please correct me with good information.

Hi flubber and thank you for the question. It's been brought up multiple times and we have answered it, but at 32 pages now, some posts have gotten buried in the thread.

Please see these 2 posts I've made to help answer your question.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1141617.msg12276783#msg12276783

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1141617.msg12228712#msg12228712

I'm not sure what other coins have "claimed" to have made or not, but what we have outlined in the ANN is what has already been completed in the core code. Those things listed on the roadmap are features for us to continue coding and testing prior to their potential addition to the core code in the future.

stoner19: as an investor, I have to ask myself what I get from my investment, so far as I look at it I don't want overpayed work or lambos for the crew for my money. If I hire a dev or a team of devs, I pay for the work and code I get back, a working solution right ? , so then why do I need a whole team on a payroll, to just sit and watch the working code I already payed for, don't get my wrong and I do hope it work, but I would never pay people to just sit and watch all day and then report back, "yes sir it works today also."

That's why I think the claim for so much BTC must have a much better specific budget, so investors can relax and get what they pay for

you have officially made my day

to stoner and r3d devs: i am thinking about buying 1 r3d, even though i feel the price is too expensive... could you please spend the rest of your day detailing an hourly rundown of what you and the developers will do with it
thank you
btw interesting project
ps - too expensive

edit: i forgot to add... whatever you say doesn't matter of course and you could be just lying and it wouldn't mean anything but please do this anyway so i can sleep better at night

* full disclosure i own over 6million r3d at the moment

seriously guys, everything you are asking has been asked a million times and we keep having to go around in circles explaining why none of that shit matters.  The only reason you want that info is to make yourself feel better about spending money.

Did you give a crap when you bought your car and it depreciated by a third as soon as you drove it off the lot?  No, you spent the money because you wanted it.

Not everything needs to be an investment.

And really, I put in 2.5 BTC not even giving a crap about ROI.  Maybe a couple of bitcoin is too much for some of you turds who needs to be coddled with random numbers on a word/excel document to feel "safe".

its also been answered a million times as far as i'm concerned to the best of what they are prepared to answer, which is more than enough in my opinion..

here is what i said about it on irc:
(4:19:43 PM) [yAK]: yea i think 800min is what... a couple hundred grand at this shit btc price?
(4:19:57 PM) [yAK]: thats 1 dev a few years salary even if they are paid low
(4:20:09 PM) [yAK]: 2devs couple years salary if they are paid low
(4:20:24 PM) [yAK]: 4 jr devs a years salary
(4:20:51 PM) [yAK]: unless we are talking about hiring indians or russians or something
(4:21:09 PM) [yAK]: which if we are is a completely different but related issue with this whole thing

edit:
then you see people talking on here and irc about it saying that they hope it gets funded but only the minimum so there are 'less coins so they would be worth more' its like lolwat? you want them to get the LEAST possible amount for their time that they are comfortable with.... and then people ask for up to the second expense reports? get a grip people

I first became aware of R3D earlier today. Stoner and the development team strike me as being keen enthusiasts in new, cutting edge technology rather than staid, financial counter-casters. They may have plucked their figures out of the air as ballpark estimates, or they may have costed down to the nth degree. I will say this though:

  • I'm well-used to constructing business plans and cashflow forecasts to put before potential investors. My experience is that the more detailed you are; the more danger of someone 'stealing' your blueprint, or gazumping what you are trying to achieve;
  • The R3D team seem to be established, well-respected members of the altcoin world;
  • Maybe the R3D team are thinking of consolidating the legal aspect of their operation, purchasing banks of servers, marketing in specific ways etc. etc. - as well as development, including the hiring of specific talent to undertake specific, sensitive assignments; ... and are requiring the investment to accelerate quickly into the big-league;
  • Perhaps they are thinking of novel applications of interest to big business ... etc. etc.
... whatever.

We have asked questions. It looks like the R3D team have been as candid as they are prepared to be. It's right to express an element of caution.

With some reservation and based on my impression ... I'm in!

yup, that's why I feel this is different from other projects out there.  This is not POS or strict POW generating coin from thin air to dump at the exchanges.  This system is designed to reward those who start their own sites and also those who like to provide content to those sites.  It also makes it more expensive for trolls to do their thing, unless they are baller trolls and put their money where their mouths are.

Do you feel better now? Glad you put 2.5 BTC in a crowd funding that fell 750 BTC short of the minimum.  Clearly something was missing.

Not sure what you're getting at with how long it took me to reply? But you always seem to pop up with a pointless response.

ok, what i was getting at is your post was a complete waste of however many minutes it took you to peck it out single fingered while staring at your keys AFTER the amount of time it took you to *LITERALLY* come up with something you felt was clever enough in your 'brain' that you decided to type out........... figured that was pretty obvious? no?

What hypocrisy.  Like your comments are any less pointless?  I do feel good by the way,  why wouldn't I?  I at least believe 75% in the project so far, and a small amount of Bitcoin like that doesn't even make me break a sweat.

Didn't realize how long it took me to type on a tablet was a big deal. What is this a dick measuring contest for how fast we type? And we got Billy bad as over here not worried about losing a few BTC.  I made a post along with others wondering what the number to raise was exactly for, and got flamed.  Good luck with the project, but clearly no more info is necessary, I have no more reason to check this thread.

sorry we didn't treat you with the respect you so believe dearly in your heart that you deserve.

EDIT: BTW I have no affiliation with the group, my comments are my own and do not reflect the opinions of the R3D team.

Same here.  I am mining Navajocoin at infernopool and dumping for BTC to buy in still.  I like the devs and the project for R3D.   Grin
