In other words, it has nothing to do with Bayer Leverkusen playing the second best season in the history of the German Bundesliga scoring 90 points is not the reason why Bayer Leverkusen won the title because if Bayern had played better, they would have won the title. You can't actually take away their performance for last season and down play their trophy winning season because you think Bayern Munich had a bad season. Bayern Leverkusen really worked hard to be exactly where they were last season. Those guys went unbeaten all through last season in the league. In fact Bayern Leverkusen were unbeaten all through the first half of the season in all competitions. That alone proves a lot about that team and how they were formidable last season. They only lost a final to Atlanta in the closing stages of the season and of course a team with that form, there will come a time where fatigue will set in and I think that was the moment. Bayern Munich's success in the Champions league games is not a surprise to me because if we take a look at when the Champions League began this season after Bayern Munich lost to Barcelona and Aston Villa who were basically in form as at then, they picked form and the only time they lost again was against Feyenoord but after then they have been winning the rest of their Champions League games and Bayern Leverkusen is a familiar side to Bayern Munich since the both teams plays in same league in the Bundesliga and due to what Bayern Leverkusen did last season, Bayern Munich don't want to give them that chance again that is why even when the two teams met in the Bundesliga this season, Munich didn't give them any opportunity to win again like they did last season.
