Has anyone actually been able to withdraw funds from Cryptsy for one of the wallets that has been "re-opened" for withdrawals?

I got about 10 ETH out of there.

I withdrew blackcoin I had traded.  I wish I put all the btc into that had I known but I only left bit.  Hours before the blog post and the cancelling of orders I got my small dogecoin balance sent out as they did clear out some coins till then.   I do think they should press ahead with some compromised solution and put people out of their misery with whatever losses have occured.  Like one person said above alot just kept random coins here for convenience so at least let them continue to swap even if the main problem of the missing btc is still a loss for many

There are coins there that don't have anyone mining them anymore. It was impossible to withdraw them before the hack. What will they do about coins like that? If they let people trade them again there wouldn't be any buyers because it's impossible to withdraw them unless a miner starts mining them again.

today most official news channel of all supported indirectly Cryptsy

confirmed existence of ''The world's 600 virtual currencies''

because if we would not support Cryptsy - this info could be soon outdated as number of virtual currencies might fall below 200 or below 100

REUTERS

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-eu-bitcoin-regulations-idUSKCN0V32A3

There are too many trash currencies out there. I've heard counts as high as 2000. Hopefully, this cryptsy dive will take out a few hundred that should die.

There might be 10 worth investing into... most of those 2000 are just scamcoins that were dumped and abandoned by the "dev", ages ago

Personally, I'm sick of the overly general or non-global coins. I think the best coins are the ones that have an actual purpose other than "to just buy stuff".

Tongue Tongue Tongue I concur. Using coins to "just buy stuff" is sooooooo overrated. Coins NEED a purpose:

Who is the initiator behind Silver Law group law suit against Cryptsy?

How many people have signed the lawsuit till date?

If it was Cryptsy behind this law suit (inside job), then people get scammed again

Any individual law suit?

Thank you!

Silver Law group has no incentive to act, now that they know all the money is either long gone, or about to be long gone in a divorce.

The class action will be just another creditor in the cryptsy bankruptcy.

Honestly, if Paul wants to climb out of this mess, he should open and exchange in China, then use all the deposits to pay the old cryptsy depositors. Then he can at least get his fractional banking scheme going again and buy some time.

It was initiated by a guy who recently deposited 84 million doge I believe.

Quote
There is now a class action lawsuit against Cryptsy from someone who had deposited 84,000,000 Doge and tried to withdraw the cryptocurrency from the exchange. The plaintiff Jinyao Liu is suing Cryptsy and the pseudonymous Big Vern for over $5 million USD. The suit against the exchange is represented by Jinyao Liu and others suffering from the same hardship. They all cannot withdraw from Cryptsy, and the filings represent the interests and costs of many people throughout various states.

This is one of this big problems I see with Bitcoin even. Adoption is always an uphill battle. Bitcoin is like a shovel looking for a hole to dig. The only thing that keeps bitcoin on top is that it was first, it has organized development, and all other coins are denominated in bitcoin.

Realistically I think the market has to contract to about 50 coins or less. There are just too many now. The only way we get there is if the majority of shitcoins are not listed on most exchanges.

With luck, this cryptsy debacle knocks out a couple hundred shitcoins that deserve to die. Cryptsy has like 266 currencies listed under the BTC list. It's just sheer horror.

How did craptsy generate the fake coins that were being trade. same said missing funds could also be transferred between users. who set up this hoax. who had knowledge of it? We already know horus did know. why didnt the funds vanish from user accounts for anyone to notice? Craptsy were is the real info and not the story? How did you make the virtual currency that people carried on trading/holding in their account and when did you decide to do such a thing instead of owning up to the theft? how did you withholding this fact help or is any advantage the customers who's funds you are claiming got stolen? NOBODY i repeat NOBODY is having any second guesses about who the thief is. its simple its the guy claiming the money was stolen a year and a half ago. but he didnt tell anyone because he wanted to help get the money back. what a crack head.

you are right. too many scavengers opportunist and ex failures in crypto trying to play business man with setting up fake exchanges with intentions to eventually run away with peoples money . Horus were are those corporate guys you keep talking about that make all the decisions?   all your words are lies i put forward that you were never a real exchange in the first place but simply a criminal set up from the start and you only stayed open longer just to steal more money. proof this wrong if you can i dare you.

You know, it just occurred to me that the movie Swordfish with John Travolta and Hugh jackman may have been a secret warning about Cryptsy eventually failing. The really amazing part is that the movie came out years before Cryptsy even existed. Check out some of the quotes from the film:
http://www.imsdb.com/scripts/Swordfish.html

"Look, this is a sweet deal. We go in over phone lines. Pop the firewall, drop in the hydra, and just sit back and wait for the money."

"Won't do you any good. The money jumps every 60 seconds from one numbered account to another and will for the next ten years. 'Course it wasn't supposed to happen for another six hours. The power surge must have scrambled the internal clock. But, you kill me and you never get a single dollar."

"He used to make an elephant disappear in a theater full of people. You know how he did it?"

Lucky for you guys who have moneys tied up in Cryptsy, I uncovered strong proof that Paul Vernon had to be at his office at the helm of the reductions during all of the event; Sadly for me, it's going to take hours for me to document my findings in a coherent post, with the off-chance that my revelation would be used in Paul Vernon's trial.

For those who don't get off from viewing my blockchain forensics, simply follow the change from all the txs above and see the proof yourself, otherwise wait for me to do the work for you, highlighting the relevant parts along the way.

Unless you can track which ip broadcast the tx, it would be hard to pin it on Vern...  being in his office in no way links him to the tx which moved the coins

Wait, so you're sayin' is that anomalous patterns won't hold up in a court of law?  Cry Does that also mean ALL my blockchain forensics has been for naught?

I have seen movement in Cryptsy Dogecoin accounts. Fore sure I know they are deposit addresses, since one is mine.

I have seen that yesterday, there were some Dogecoin movements from Dogecoin deposit addresses that eventually went to a cold storage?.

Money moved from deposit addresses to a big address and then, after some transferences and split overs, the money ended up in a huge account:

Cryptsy's deposit addresses for Dogecoin to another wallet (movement yesterday)

Final Huge address (maybe Dogecoin cold storage?).
