Check out the first post of the 2Pac support thread. It'll give you better software and directions, and everything there is backward-compatible with the original Compac.

Hi to all,
I'm actually using it at 300mHz and is running up to 40Ghs but the average is around 30-35 gHs. I would like to ask you guys here, if there is any coin you are able to mine with some concret results. After 3 week on slushpool for bitcoin, I'm at around 5% of minimum threshold. And is gonna be about 0.001BTC I tried then multi pool, to mine Digibyte, after a full day, totally zero. Was looking like the difficulty was like 700-900M and I wasn't able to get any share, so just new block and new difficulty, nothing else, a full day lost. Always on multi pool, I'm trying right now to mine mazacoin, MZC, look like as per difficulty level is the only one I could get, but only cryptopia work with this coin, and the website is still not accepting any new account since December. Do anybody knows how comes I'm able to mine the BTC, with it huge difficulty, but not able to mine digibyte? I do believe that is something wrong about the level of difficulty, and I don't know how to solve it. Any suggestion about? Or what you guys mine whit the Gekko??
Thank you in advance!
Andrea

No you don't, unless you're using 2 sticks. However, since the original Compac discussed in this thread went out of production over a year ago it's more likely you're using a single 2Pac, you should probably use the 2Pac support thread instead. That said, stickminers will very likely never be profitable. They're learning tools, or lottery miners (mining solo), or unofficially and unfortunately, a way for greedy resellers to fleece people.

I point mine at bravo-mining.
He gives a 1 btc bonus if you hit the block.
I don’t expect to make a profit on them but if I do it is okay.

So I have what I thought was going to be a simple set up. A Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, a D-Link Powered USB Hub and a Gekko USB miner. However, I am only getting hashrates of around 500MH/s. Way lower that the 15GH/s advertised.
Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
Thanks

I think it's safe to say at this point that nobody who posts questions in this thread is using a Compac. Since the Compac went out of production well over a year ago, and since then we've made about four times as many 2Pacs.
And then there's the consideration that, even if it's a Compac in question, the 2Pac driver and cgminer are a couple years newer and much much better and with current support.
So, maybe people should just stop posting in this thread. And instead go over to the 2Pac Support Thread for questions about 2Pacs. And maybe consider searching in it just a bit before posting questions because almost all of them have been asked already. Especially if the issue is you're using stock cgminer without 2Pac support and your stick is enumerating as an AMU with a ridiculously low hashrate.
So, 2Pac users, please let this thread die. Go somewhere with current (and actual pertinent) information, where the name of your product is in the title.

Okay then, my apologies to anyone I may wake up by posting. That's cute, there's a warning about waking stale topics.
My windows 10 just upgraded to 1803 and my compacs have dropped in hashrate. Anyone have a similar experience?
Yes, compacs, not 2pac.
Yes, 1803, not 1809 (I like to delay as much as possible).
With the upgrade to 1803, I had to reinstall zadig, which had been upgraded since I originally installed it. After noticing the decrease in hashrate (5.5% on each unit) I dug out and applied my older version of zadig, but to no avail.
The version of cgminer as well as the batch file used to lauch it have not changed. Next stop will be the multimeter if nobody else has noticed the drop.
What? I like these little guys.

If you're still using Novak's cgminer-gekko from like 2015, I highly recommend grabbing VH's current cgminer build from the 2Pac thread. He's got a Windows build linked from a post in I think page 107, not sure if it's been updated in the first post or not. VH's driver is much better, and the base cgminer (4.11) doesn't predate MSX. Not sure if that'll help but I guarantee it won't hurt.

Trust sidehack to remain supportive to his baby--much appreciated. Yeah 4.11 didn't make a difference. I tweaked the voltage up (even though the miners were only spitting out about 1 HW error/day) and will monitor to see if that has any affect (I know that it shouldn't). Weird. .earl

I'm stuck in an Amps-Volts-Watts loop. It is turning into a syphon.
I'm running cgminer 4.9.2 on a PiZW, the little single cpu is sleepy when I have cgminer running.
I have a 20 port USB2.0 hub. The specifications on the hub are 150 Watts. I'm in USA 110 Volts on 60 cycles.
I had this running on a Pi3b in June 2018. Family happened. I come back to v4.9.2. I've met all the dependencies, compiled it appropriately (been using cgminer with 333mhz ASIC miners for YEARS.
I have up to 11 working 2pac miners. I have a very reliabloe 5v USB set of fans. I have a 150 Watt powered USB device. It also has 20 ports, I'm using up to 5 so far. Lots of PiZ's to bring up.
I'm starting with 4 sticks. U-L lists 4 devices, I can not get them to go online. What is glaring at me? Thank you!

My first piece of advice is to reiterate something I said four posts ago: ... go over to the 2Pac Support Thread for questions about 2Pacs. And maybe consider searching in it just a bit before posting questions because almost all of them have been asked already...

Looks like the primary issue you're having is that you're trying to run 2Pacs on a piece of software last updated a full year before the 2Pac existed. Asking for 2Pac support in the Compac support thread instead of the 2Pac support thread is a subsidiary issue.

Because Novak is no longer around to do it? The thread was dead for nine months until someone actually had a Compac question, which was appropriate, and now everyone's confused again.

Hello, In the past 3-4 months the cgminer library on github.com has seemed to be shreaded. IMHO. The only version of cgminer that works with the gekko miner is 4.10.0... THE BOYS are updating the cgminer code from what I can tell. There is a version of 4.10.0 with the gekko driver installed. You have to do all the pre-requisites...then procede throuth the compile procedures. Where does this cgminer live? I had to DIG in github quite a bit to find it. Search in GitHub for this branch AJJJJ-Master (that is 4 J's) Using a usb 3.0 hub, adds to the mix... rpi's all/any are USB2.0 devices. I run an Orico 20 port, USB 2.0 hub, 150WATT Powersupply. I have 11 gekko's running at 117Ghz. I use SLUSHPOOL / COINBASE as my pool and repository. IMHO the drive is just an anchor... Save all the USB power for your hub and Pi. I'd suggest finding a real USB2.0 hub. I'm having the problem of it locking up my gekko setup... I'm digging here for that. There may be 2 solutions. 1 of them is working on my Pi2b 7-port USB2.0 hub, six icarus 333mhz chips & one USB fan in the middle. It has been running 3 days & counting. chewing up 2.01 ghz ... hey it's a nCoin. This versioin of cgminer works with the gekko. The locking up thing, I'm digging... IMHO ditch the USB3.0 hub. It has no advantage in a controller (aka Pi) and devices (aka Gekko's) that are all USB2.0. good luck & please report back. I've been running gekko's ~1.5 years & asics 333's for almost 4 (on & off... Moving & crap)

Fix your quote tag.
Stop telling people to use crap software. Get the driver from VH, the guy who wrote the driver. Trust my advice because I literally am GekkoScience and VH and I worked on the 2Pac in parallel.
If you don't have a Compac (the single-chip) and aren't giving advice on the Compac, don't post in this thread at all.
And don't bother giving advice to someone who posted a question over one year ago. He's probably no longer listening, and the problem has probably also been solved with good advice.
