Bitcoin is more better than Western Union in many ways and there is no comparison between both whether it is about sending charges/cost,ease and freedom.Bitcoin will be main source of remittance in near future because of its unique features.It is already being used mostly for transfer of funds successfully.
But still many people from almost all the countries using western union just because of lack of awareness on bitcoin and it's advantages. This is means they are still rushing to the old trend even they got easiest and cheapest way. It's not fair if we still delaying on spreading word on bitcoin to them. Simply bitcoin is better than Western Union in all departments. May be bitcoin is created to replace this kind of inter border money transfer in mind. Bitcoin will do better what Western Union so far has performed for people with very less fees. |

You can send money to the most backward stone age shit hole halfway around the planet and know that it'll arrive. Bitcoin can do a few things but that's a way off yet, if ever. |

This is much larger than exchanges. It is better if we can be paid with bitcoin. |

Sending money through bitcoin is much better than Western Union.
There is no fee (or very low fee - few cents) per transaction.
You can send millions via bitcoin and there is still few cents the fee.

the best for this to happen is to set up readings in several places and show them actual bitcoin usage in real life. that might help them to get the motivation to use bitcoin. |

I think overall when you have more fiat to bitcoin exchangers become widely available that don't ask too much for your details that is when bitcoin will overtake wu. Right now despite having all the advantages we are still trying to catch up. It's a matter of time that it will happen.

Bitcoin is good if only I can buy groceries and buy fuel for my car directly without exchanging to my local currency. I receive monthly remittance from my wife overseas but we still use Western Union because she is paid in USD not in BTC.

But apparently after receiving the bitcoin remittance from person A to person B, it has to be converted again to fiat to be useful to the receiver since bitcoin alone cannot buy general goods that people need in order to live. |

apparently people don't care about low fee, or they would use bitcoin only, security is what matter more for them, kwoning that this isn't true or to hard with bitcoin they prefer more convenient and well established method of payment it can also be that we need few generation of new people to achieve massive adoption, and get rid of the old monetary system, maybe satoshi predicted that, and it is why bitcoin mining will end in 2140 |
