Bitcoin is far better than Western Union, for a lot of reasons. With Bitcoin you don't need to trust a third party that will charge you about 10% to allow you to do an international transaction...

Ii will just take time for more people to realize the facts.

Bitcoin is a problem for the people who are not using it or who are not aware about the benefits of bitcoins, once they are aware about bitcoins and if they come to know the advantages associated with bitcoins I am very much sure they would never enter the door steps of WU as they are charging heavily on their customers and in fact they are cheating to their customers who are loyal with them since many years.

If bitcoin can be used in many places, then there is no need to use Western Union. If not, Western Union can still be useful.

REALLY???

change from australian dollar to chinese yuan costs 9-10%

i done the same for australian dollar to indian rupee

again 9%

i also done it for american dollar to indian rupee and had 6%.. all of which gave the recipient far less fiat at the end that they would have got using western union

bitcoin still isnt perfect for remittance, not until the "spread" that brokers/traders buy and sell at is brought down to 0.25% or less each side.. which will never happen.. as thats just not good profit for someone to risk handing over bitcoin or fiat to someone wanting their service

This. the fee on Western Union is disgusting and for bitcoin the fee is small and you can do it online and can stay anonymous. bitcoin is better than western union.

When people can learn where to get btc debit cards that are accepted in their country AND can instantly deposit iinto the card

from an online transaction from their address where the btc was deposited by a family or friend to, they will really love btc.

I hope this will soon knock out Western Union. I hated WU every time I saw a kiosk for it or storefront anywhere. I know it is

used by millions of scamers and so forth. The fees are also bad too.

We already surpassed Western Union:

We are making progress. Next victims will be Paypal. I want to see Elon crying because he didn't get on Bitcoin when he could. He is the kind of person that needs to be humbled down for not fully respecting Bitcoin.

FINALLY, guys! I see BTC getting over on Western Union. Still, concerningly enough, Visa and Mastercard have a LOT in this right now. I wonder when BTC is going to rise to that part of the graph chart? So far, so good. Paypal is still more, just yet, but I hope Paypal shrinks more and is run off from this chart along with WU. Discover Network is so sickeningly close that they are just getting ready to be our next victim if the Paypal doesn't get pwnt first.

we all know that the year 2015 be good enough for bitcoin, one achievement is a rival and even beat western union in the number of transactions, but I think bitcoin is still losing in popularity of western union.

That is right. Western Union is used by 10 million people or  more. Bitcoin is used by fewer people. In the next 5 years, there will be more bitcoin users.

More people use Western Union. But in the future, when bitcoin is used by more people, the user number will exceed WU.

this sounds a bit retarded if some people are waiting for other to use bitcoin, to start use it also, why they simply don't begin to use it now

the fact is that many people don't even know about bitcoin or feel unsecure to use it
