I say yes, bitcoin is better, because people will like the transaction fee from bitcoin than western union that cost much.
If the price of bitcoin will stay at a low level the transaction fees probably will be increased but i hope will not be too much.
The fee will not cost much than western union I think even if bitcoin price falls.

The transaction fee is about $0.1 for each transaction for bitcoin. But if you add all the exchange cost, it could be higher.

I see, currently I'm saving my bitcoin on the wallet that is xapo, and the transaction fee is free.

Bitcoin is way better than Western Union, because of low fees. It's possible to send much lower amounts without fees eating you up.

People that are using bitcoins are so lucky, because of this the fee is low but still sometimes you need fiat because your family don't use bitcoin.

And western union can easily be hacked...
If you have seen, i have senn many hackers hacking western union money WU and selling them in change of btc..
Because they can't hack btc or they can't use stolen cards there..
The blockchain is too much secure than other all..
That's why they sell hacked WU transfer in change of btc..
And btc has fast transaction, lowet transaction fees, and open easy use, no government controls..

In terms of safety neither wins. If you proper secure your financial enviroment.
But the fees open character of bitcoin, makes it the best.

Yeah the fees are really cheap with bitcoin, but still not all of us can do that if you are trying to give someone money that don't use bitcoin so there is no point if doing it.

Oh well I think is at least some good things with bitcoin that is cheap and we can control our money.

I wouldn't use Western Union if you could throw me 100 feet away. Nope. I do not like WU. Too high of fees and you always have to go

downtown to turn in the MCTN to get money. Sure, the cash is nice to have, but you would often rather buy stuff online rather than

have the cash in hand more times than not. SOMETIMES, it might be OK to receive when you cannot get cash in any other way, but not

to send unless so urgent that there cannot be any other way out AND the per5son in question doubts or doesn't know btc.

Im so used to Bitcoin now that whenever I have to use some payment processor like WU I get so pissed off at the insane fees. I don't get why some people here is complaining about fees and wants a bigger block size when it's as cheap as it gets and very fast too.

Last week i sent relief fund worth of 500$ to france through western union I paid a charge nearly 15$ for that. these kind of things will not go with western union in future if bitcoin comes to all where in money transactions means I will go with that itself.

You still think it's better to send $450 one day and receive $370 the next one? What kind of company will afford to have those risk and volatility. No sane person will accept a transfer in Bitcoin, plus they won't be able to cash it anywhere, that's why Western Union is successful. I don't understand how this thread keeps going and going, there's no real research done. Go and open your own Bitcoin transfer company and see if you can keep up with 0 fees.

The only insane i see here is you, bitcoin can be converted at the same time of the transaction, the goal at bitcoin is we community buy and sell between us,that happen at exchanges, but to take it out to real world to get fiat well for me still being easy and fast i contact the person and he says how much he will pay based on the value of bitcoin on that time, soo i dont see what you see sorry.

You don't see that the thread is comparing apples to oranges. In order to provide the same service (fiat, cash in a window) a company using Bitcoin will be exposed to the same problems if not more compared to WU. That's why the service doesn't exists yet, because it's not profitable. I've received a transfer from Western Union some weeks ago, it was $200 USD, they charged the sender less than $10. I got two bills of $100 each in my hand.

Just do your math and see if the same procedure can be done via Bitcoin but cheaper. If you can find a way then you will become a millionaire and kick WU out of business.

If I we're to choose between fee's to pay between Western Union and sending Bitcoins, I'll go for Bitcoins since fees are so minimal, while in terms of accessibility, I'll go for Wester Union, maybe thats the reason why we are paying high fees with those remittance companies like WU

both have advantages and disadvantages of each, a lot of people who still survive and are happy to wear wu for the purposes of sending abroad, like me my family abroad, they could not use bitcoin,

western union is outdated

Yes the transaction with bitcoin is more and more better than western union, but for the facilities like western union is also required. As even in countries where illetracy persists, western union is well-known there and everyone use that. Bitcoin must also have to establish like that.

Yes bitcoin is better then the WU for sure, as bitcoin transaction involves transparency and with minimum transaction costs but the major problem with bitcoin is it is not widely spread like WU, and WU is more popular then bitcoin, and the awareness level of people regarding bitcoin is very less, that makes WU better form them then bitcoins.
