Of course Bitcoin is any day better than western union, though this thread is really old I yet would say by now all would have understood how efficient Bitcoin is and I know at times it lags but that's fine. Overall it's very secure plus it's gives us the annoninity features which you can never have. No taxes need to be paid, and no one can ever find out if you use Bitcoins, like ever. You can send as low 10 cents and not even incur fees at times. I will choose Bitcoins over any currency anytime.

Well probably the very reason why bitcoin surpasses Western Union is because of its CONVENIENCE. Things nowadays are almost Electronic and internet based. And that's what Bitcoin is all about. Having Such busy living, we don't have time to go to places and waste time, effort and money just to send or receive payments. With bitcoin, you can send transactions easily by just clicking and you're done, no effort and time wasted.

Because they had a lot of customers throughout the world and those people doesn't have any knowledge when it comes to bitcoin or crypto currency. But I know one day they will be informed about bitcoin and will even try to use it for remittances.

As you said and I could conclude that western union have many customers because of many people still lack knowledge of bitcoin, but, it's have nothing to do with whether which one of bitcoin and WU is better.
There's many services out there that poorly offered and have many customers meanwhile there's good services that only having low customers also exist, the amount of customers have nothing to do with the quality of the service providers.

People are comparing almost everything with bitcoin. And expect to see more comparison about bitcoin vs everything. But when it comes to service I do love both, I've got relatives that doesn't have knowledge with bitcoin and I don't have choice but to use WU when remitting and receiving money from abroad.

Yes me too. My relatives and friends that are used to send me or send them using Western Union are ok with them even though the charge are big. I already told me that the fee's are really huge and they should change the payment by using bitcoin. But I guess they don't to used bitcoin because they heard that bitcoin are used for dark webs so I don't force them anymore. The most important thing for them is that the money went to my account without hassle on their side. But from time to time, I tell them all about bitcoin and hope they chance their mind.

They will likely NOT be shifted after a period of time. There have been banks for hundreds of years. Bitcoin is better for sure - consider the speed of the transactions. Between banks these can happen in even 3 days and the fee is pretty high while a 3 day confirmation is probably around $0.07 in fees if you want to send a BTC transaction and get it confirmed in approximately 3 days. Bitcoin will always remain the superior one but not so many people know about it. If it gets popular, it's against the will of the governments. I guess this is why Bitcoin got rejected in the ETF poll and that's why the Chinese government is starting to investigate Bitcoin as much as they can, and to track the users and the money that's sent over BTC. Bitcoin's coverage is way smaller than WU's, so this is probably the only con.

Exactly, I don't know why people keep comparing two totaly different things like Bitcoin and Western Union and Bitcoin and PayPal. Like they don't know the difference between currency and money service. Western Union is money service that could also be used for transfering Bitcoins, the problem is that they don't support it yet.
So, you can compare Western Union with PayPal or Moneygram or Skrill but not with Bitcoins.

I think bitcoin is better than western union .Because bitcoin  transaction fee is very low and easy to use . You can send / receive money where ever you are and anytime. And it is not hassle because you cannot go to the remittance center. Western Union the transaction fee is depends what amount you send and it is hassle because you can go to remittances center to send/receive payout. Bitcoin provide a payment gateway as well as it serves as a currency. This has made users to move towards bitcoin when the transaction fee with Western Union and other services were found high. Seeing the above chart itself one can easily understand the reality of how bitcoin grew from the scratch to reach the peak crossing several barriers.

I think bitcoin is better than western union .Because bitcoin  transaction fee is very low and easy to use . You can send / receive money where ever you are and anytime. When we compared about how much fees of both of them, sure bitcoin will win for this, no doubt about it. The fees of bitcoin transactions only less than 1 dollars ( depending amount of transactions ) my transactions usually around 20 until 150 dollars. It was a plus point to bitcoin.

I  am still wishing of a  bitcoin type of world currency a peperless country/continent/worldwide. In which we all dictate our own faith to whatever we do with our money. Western union platform is very far from bitcoin and yeah i van say that bitcoin process is way much better

Sooner or later, bitcoin market capitalisation will catch onto WU and even Visa in my opinion, as more and more people realise that there is no need for a centralised banking system, and you can deal without the middlemen in your trades that are taking away a hefty cut of the sum of money you are sending to your relative overseas. There is already a good solution called bitcoin.

Once people realise that, businesses will implement bitcoin into their business model. People will send money overseas using bitcoin and saving time and money in the process. Even from third world countries where people don't have access to banks, now they have access to a fully functional banking system.

With those means my aunt is opt to spend big amounts just for the money to be sent. But with the help of modern technklogy and also the invention of bitcoin it made the transaction of giving and spending money a whole lot easier. For me bitcoin is really much more easy to transact with other than WU or other means. I agree to the idea that WU are now in the situation of finding ways not be overcomed by bitcoin.

A centralized service cant really defeat a decentralized one like bitcoin and they would really see bitcoin as a strong competitor regarding on their service and if people would found out on how bitcoin is easier and does have less fees speaking of money transfers then they would surely lost a customer and would switch to bitcoin.

Bitcoin is much better than Western Union but it still needs lot more time to gain the trust of common man. The current number of Bitcoin users is climbing up steadily. There are large number of people who can't handle Bitcoin properly and have fear. I think old payment processors have no big immediate threat from Bitcoin though it is more cost effective and faster than those.

I do not think we should use the old payment processor, because it's a dog see a lot of restrictions, it's being bugs serious and can not fix, currently, I have not seen any measures Which one can fix it, series of transactions are stuck. The big expense is always the problem when we use something, bitcoin too, we need a more reasonable fee, we can not pay a large amount of money for each transaction, and many This time we will lose a lot of money, so a new technology that will reduce costs and increase speed will be necessary.

Well it depends. Western Union can transfer money from one place to another, but the difference is that bitcoin can store money thats what they call bitcoin wallet. While Western Union cant. But it still depends. What if Western Union can transfer money faster ? Or if the user doesnt have internet to use bitcoin ?
