The NBA's board of governors approved the sale of the Charlotte Hornets to a group led by Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin. Michael Jordan sold the Charlotte Hornets for approximately $3 Billion. He bought it for $275 Million in 2010.
Yup. This was a news already a month or two ago but then that's official now if the boards have finally approved the sale of it. IIRC, it's not an entire sale and turnover because AFAIK MJ will still be left and have a small portion of it. Anyway, this is one of the best investment that a person can ever have but it's on MJ. One of the GOAT and now turned into an entrepreneur and businessman, this is one of his greatest wins that none other NBA players haven't reached yet. Great move by MJ; he was able to make a lot of money from his investment, and I'm sure he will not go poor with the fortune he has amassed. This is the kind of player who should be a good role model. After basketball, he focused on investment and used his finances to grow it even more. There might be some big changes now, and I hope the Charlotte Hornets will be able to become a playoff team. He's been a billionaire and this added more to his wealth. We know that it's gonna take a lot of time if he spends that carelessly to become poor again. But I don't think that he'll ever do that and people like him who's wise in handling their money and finances won't become poor again. It's not just all about his basketball IQ but also his IQ in money management. I agree that everyone in the league should follow him and set him as an example. And talking about the entire team of Hornets, we'll see how the new owner of it will adjust on this. I am sure that he wants to get a title as well.

For sure the tandem of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum is unmatchable when they are into it and they are still young and can still push to their potentials Jayson Tatum 25 years old, and Jaylen Brown 26 years old the Celtics can not go wrong with their decision and both these two players are coplimenting their skills for me they are a tandem on the court that will surely make an incredible play when they are on to it, there are just many lapses in the previous season that they need to be fixed and mostly they also have injuries that is really inevitable for the NBA they just need to improve their other players so they could have some worthy bench players
This is why they worth so much, maybe they didn't win a title just yet, but that duo looks like a duo that could end up winning a title and I believe that they are going to end up being a lot better if they could go on to grow together as well. Sure they were unlucky to face some serious trouble so far and they have faced with some good teams, but I believe that they are going to end up winning eventually and if Celtics could put some decent players around them, then they are going to be able to get a ring. Just two good superstars is not enough these days, it might be depending on the situation but you need proper role players around them. Marcus Smart is much worse than people think he is, and Horford is way too old.

Wise decision for MJ, it's huge profits after some years of owning the franchise, Now, he has the money and if I'm not sure he will still have some portion of this team, that will still give him decent profits in case the new management will manage it to be a playoff contender. A good role model indeed, he still winning even he's no longer around same fate with how he manages his share with Nike, until now, he's still making money even he's no longer playing. Michael Jordan's biggest source of income is Nike. He made a lot of money from his deal with Nike and continues to earn. The man is always printing money. I also recommend you to watch the movie Air.

So much inflation and overhyped on sports, obviusly the worth its much than before, but that number are because of inflation like i said, and plus with the internet and a much more globalized world the sell of Tv rights all across the world. Yeah, but still inflation over 13 years doesn't increase the value by around 1000%. The amounts franchises get sold for these days are crazy. MJ made a great deal, even if he never had any success and pretty much ran down the team with bad draft choices and trade decisions. Still, he got a big payday, as usual. Let's see if the new owners can finally do something with what they have on hand. There is talent in the team, it just has to be unleashed. It was the same thing when Robert Sarver was forced to sell the Phoenix Suns last year because he sold it for $4 Billion dollar and he could've maintained his position as an owner if his attitude were not ugly towards the staff and players as that was the factor why NBA had to meddle in and pave a way to ban Sarver permanently. Anyway, he bought the franchise way back 2004 for about $400 Million and so it has increased for 10x in almost two decades since he bought the team.

I agree because I would bet on them personally if the Boston Celtics will provide this duo a good wingman and a powerful center as that will definitely portray a different image and a threat to their foe, and most importantly, it is likely that they will be participating in the Finals again to fight for the championship. Just one thing though, I know that the Celtics is really looking forward to give Brown his much deserved extension that is worth $300 Million but I do hope that he will be loyal to the team just like Tatum and will not request any trade if in case they will face hardships through their career. I'd like to see him giving his best to the team that provided him his much deserved contract.

...Again, hard to compare him with WB as far as triple double, but there are games that we could see some brilliance or high basketball IQ of Ball. But I doubt that he will catch WB in the record boards.
Following Westbrook's record will surely be a struggle to anyone specially if they are chasing after his triple double record as that same record looks to be unbreakable and by the way, Westbrook is still active in the sport and so he still have some chances to improve his standing and add a few couple on his stats even if it looks like that he cannot be that same triple double machine anymore. But I still believe that Westbrook can still make a difference, he just have to trust himself because his confidence was seriously hurt during his Laker days.

Still active and still have that chance to add more to his stats. I agree with you, he needed to bring that desire back. After losing that confidence playing with the Lakers, he might find it back with his new teammates. Hopefully, there's no trade anymore and he will be adding good numbers if minutes will be provided to him. Still have that capability to bring and impact just need to increase his confidence. Looking to see if there's a good improvement from this upcoming season.

And also he's healthy and capable to play more games since he's not a injury prone player so provably he can retain and add up more on his stats so that this will be hard to break by other player. He might not be the same as before but for sure he still capable to do triple double especially if the coach will trust him and he will have the same role when he is on OKC. He just need his confidence back and with this he will be a triple double machine again.

I don't think he will ever achieve that triple-double consistency now that he is not the main star of the team. Westbrook was the main star in OKC, but now he is with the Clippers, where many stars are playing, so he plays based on the role given to him. For Westbrook, what matters now is winning a championship, as he has already achieved his goal as an individual player. But the biggest goal is to win a championship.

Yeah, and as Paul George, shout out to WB for taking the minimum just to stay with the Clippers at least for this year. Because if that is other players, he might look for still a good contract as WB can still play and become a star in any other team. So obviously, by now his biggest goal is to win a championship ring with PG and Kawhi. It might be a tough road in the West, there are a lot of great teams. But who knows, maybe the 3 can make it to the finals.

No, he will stay for 2 years as that's what his contract says. Free agent Russell Westbrook has agreed on a two-year, nearly $8M deal https://www.nba.com/news/russell-westbrook-2023-free-agencyIf he cannot make it next season, he still has one more season to help the Clippers win a championship. I think it's possible as long as Leonard stays healthy. Actually, even without PG, Leonard and Westbrook would already be enough to lead the team.

As compare to let's say Oladipo or Dennis Schröder by declining a huge contract and then later on signing for lesser money. But in this case, WB is on the opposite end of the spectrum and it could paid off.

Unfortunately, it didn't happen, and for sure, they regretted that decision.

Kawhi Leonard will be the key to them winning a lot of games and taking the highest seed possible without hurting himself. That way, he can rest all he want by being in a safe spot and then he can wait for the playoffs to come. This is the problem with fragile players, he cannot even complete the whole season anymore after the championship with the Raptors. But whenever he is around, the plus for the team is way high that it almost looks like a mismatch against other teams. Just one player can make a big difference especially one with both powers in the offensive and defensive ends. Seems like WB will take anything now at 34 years old, especially on an All-Star caliber like the Clippers and I think that's a good offer considering he will become a backup guard for them.

Yes, Westbrook's net worth is already $200 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth: https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-athletes/nba/russell-westbrook-net-worth/So he can take a lower salary because he already has a lot to fall back on. The Clippers did not have to make a difficult decision on what they could offer Westbrook, as he willingly accepted a very low salary. Just imagine, that's only more than 10% of his yearly salary during his prime. He probably just want to solidify his achievement because as an individual player, he already made a history, so winning a championship will make it better.

Yeah, I really thought that Kawhi will be healthy last season, I mean we have seen a lot of improvements in his legs. The trainer did a good job on his 2 seasons ago to improved his lower body as it was too weak to handle the rigorous NBA games. And thus, in the beginning Leonard looks healthy until he suffered the same injury if I'm not mistaken. So back to 0 again, but I guess they can only strengthen the muscles around the tendons. But if tendons are to weak then not sure if there will be trainings that can improved that part of our body. But if he becomes healthy this coming season then it might be a very different LA Clippers. And then Steve Ballmer, who has put out huge money in rebuilding the Clippers again, then might be happy if at least they go on the finals.

Yeah, and as Paul George, shout out to WB for taking the minimum just to stay with the Clippers at least for this year.
Money is not that important to him anymore because it seems to me that Westbrook is on a revenge mode to gain his confidence and reputation again, and I believe that he still got a chance if he will be given an enough time to play as a main role with Kawhi Leonard because being a 6th man in the team was seriously not suitable for him. He just needed some time to take care of his own business to bring back that old version.

Hard to say at this time since teams haven't settled yet. I mean I can have a better idea once all teams were done with their trade business. Lakers and Warriors are expected to at least make it to the playoffs and who knows what's going to happen after that. I'm doubtful on Heat's case after they broke their core. There's always that air of uncertainty when you bring in new players.

He needs that playing time to showcase again his talent, this new season may give him that chance if the coaching staff allow him to play more minutes. He may negotiate about the money if he plays well in this upcoming season and make a big impact for the Clippers, but without anything we may not hear anything about that salary, it might be possible that he will end his career and think about it after the contract.
