Are there any better deals for the Trezor harvard wallet on Black Friday? I was expecting a bigger discount at the official shop, maybe there will be something for Cyber Monday?

I don't think there will be a bigger discount. There might be some other deal like a free Trezor One for each Trezor T bought or three devices for the price of two.

Although any discount is welcome, I have a feeling that they could do it a little better. If we compare what another leading manufacturer of HW wallets has to offer, Trezor's promotion seems a bit weak. I expected them to at least offer the same price as the main competitor.
What I wanted to say, it would be cool for Trezor to have a 40-50% discount on Black Friday promotion as well.

Barring permanent decreases of the base price or bundle deals, the highest discount I've ever seen Satoshi Labs offer was 30% and that was in 2016 when the whole user base and consequentially the market size for hardware wallets were smaller. Since they only really have one serious competitor, I wouldn't expect bigger discounts in the near future, even less so during a bull run.

Thanks for the screen replacement link. I took mine apart and the metallic case appears to be reusable, just clicks back together. Unfortunately the screen connection has tiny soldering points which would need some specialised equipment I think.

Cool to hear that the case may be salvageable, that's not the case with plastic ones. Google 'tiny soldering points', or go to an electronics/laptop/phone repair shop and ask them to do it for you while you watch.

That's Trezor Bridge. You need it to be able to use your Trezor with the web interface. You can disable it in the "Start-up" tab in the task manager. You will have to launch it manually every time you want to use your Trezor in a browser, though.

Snip
It has almost zero affect on your CPU and memory consumption as well as your power usage, so just leave it as it is. If you decide to disable it, as Rath_ recommended, you might forget to enable it manually later when you want to use your Trezor and you could run into issues or bugs.

brand new trezor 1, going through the process, start to copy down the paper seed backup, it shows me the first word, write it down click the next/right button on the trezor, it shows me the second word, write it down click the button...nothing, click click click, hold button down...nothing, cant move to 3rd word

does not exactly instill confidence

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.
Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

Web wallet says to update Trezor T to firmware version 2.3.6 but there has been no tweets, nothing updated on website or firmware changelog announcing this update that followed so soon after version 2.3.5. What's up Trezor?

Buy a Trezor and Protect your BTC, BCH, BTG, DASH, LTC, DGB, ZEC, ETH and ETC from hackers.
If I was helpful please buy me a coffee BTC: 1DWK7vBaxcTC5Wd2nQwLGEoy8xdFVzGKLK  BTG: AWvN1iBqCUqG2tEh3XoVvRbdcGrAzfBBpW

You can always check the latest version of the changelog on their GitHub. It looks like that update was supposed to be released tomorrow and it isn't critical.

Could this be some new Trezor hardware wallet redesign or is it just a concept from Prototypum Czech designers?
I don't know, but this has a nice unibody design, they say case is made from aluminum alloy and it does have similar Trezor shape but it looks much better.
Same team made this silicone cover for Trezor Model T in 2017/2018 so maybe they are working with Trezor developers on something.

Oh, this looks so good. Also the fit and finish of this Trezor look to be way better than on the current version and I really like the touch pad they have on top.
I really hope this is the final design for the new Trezor wallet and not just a prototype.

I asked Trezor team for estimation when they could release new Trezor with open source secure element and they told me there is no ETA but they are on the right path and chip is only the first step for new Trezor model.
I think that would mean some major redesign Smiley

The developers of the Trezor hardware wallet have recalled its advantages against hacking attempts against the background of plans by the US authorities to create a tool to bypass protection and gain access to crypto assets. After the digital forensics division of the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) placed a tender on April 29 to create a universal solution for hacking hardware wallets that may be of interest to investigations https://www.vice.com/en/article/k78a53/the-irs-wants-help-hacking-cryptocurrency-hardware-wallets

Precisely.  And that is why open source is imperative - in my mind.  Once we all realize that a Gov power will be able to crack a simple hardware device security element/chip THEN we will "grow up".  Time to learn to use off device encryption augmentation keeping their frickin eyes out of our business.  Long passphrases, and encryption SALT files (enabling encrypted SEED, and encrypted PINs) can be kept entirely OFF the hardware wallet on the devices I am using.  Even if I just save them time and give them my SEED I am giving them nothing they can use without MUCH more.  With the power of 3 letter agencies vs little secure elements it would be laughable to bet the farm such simplicity could prevail!
