I noticed that the screen of my Trezor was so dim (almost black), it can't be used immediately after I received it. I contacted the Manufacturer and I send it back to Czech Republic by express mail on the 12th/SEP. It arrived on the 16th/SEP but they have not yet picked it up afaik.

It is weird that the customer has to cover the shipping cost back to the manufacturer when the product is clearly broken. Why should the customer pay any extra cost when you send broken hardware?  Angry Huh

Thank you for the notice. Last time we checked, there was no package in the Box yet, but today we will check again. Please rest assured that our support team is doing their best to cater to your requests.

The reason why the customer has to pay for the RMA shipping is to avoid fraud. After the device arrives and is investigated, if the fault was found to be a manufacturing error, then we will process the shipping reimbursement on an individual, case-by-case basis. A new device will be shipped to you too.

If you have further issues, please report them on the support channel; it will help us process your questions faster! Thank you Smiley

Hello. I have a question about trezor U2F auth.

I used it today and i like it. However I saw "Save github key?" or something similar on trezor when connecting it to github.

So - will trezor device work with github auth after wiping and re-initializing it using same paper backup?

Lets say I set up github auth using trezor. Then I lost device, bought one more and re-initialized it with paper backup. Will it auth me as old lost device?

Restoring a seed on another TREZOR restores all the U2F keys too, as they are derived from one master key (and the seed). However, due to the design of U2F, some services might implement a counter that records the number of sign-ins. When recovering a seed, or cloning a TREZOR, this counter will be off and might have to be increased, in order for the recovered TREZOR to work successfully with a service. This is by U2F's design, unfortunately.

Okay, I tried to simulate this situation. I cloned trezor and tried google auth.

Looks like I authenticated 3-4 times before.

Google requested usb device, I inserted cloned trezor and it requested authentication.

When I pressed "Authenticate" on trezor, nothing happened, but in a few seconds there was another auth request. I pressed "Authenticate" once more, and there was 2 more requests. After 4 times it passed me in.

When I tried then to auth with "old" trezor, google asked auth two times in a row before success.

Looks like google checks that counter and increases it on auth failure. However it works.

Thanks for the info. I just tried it too, on GitHub and Dropbox, and both let me in, using a cloned device, without an issue. (Doesn't seem like they check the counter)

It's not optimal for UX, but it works, for backup and recovery...

I love this password manager but I hate that I now have to use Chrome. It's worth it to use chrome for the password manager. But I hope they do something in the future to allow me to uninstall chrome and never have to see it again.

If the reason you do not like Chrome is privacy issues consider Iron instead.

Wouldn't it be better to make a thread in "Collectibles"? That's where the people who will be interested are all at.

However, is it a First Edition? Those were aluminum. I've never heard of a plain stainless steel one.

looking for a signature campaign, dm me for that

Is there a easy way to update Trezor without using Chrome/ Iron /Chromium? Trezor Bridge is not working in combination with Win10. Huh

If you have an Android, you can use the Trezor Manager app.
