Hi guys,
Can I sign&verify btc transaction on trezor? i connected my trezor but i didn't find that option on btc wallet

Bitcoin Core has not established a protocol to sign from segwit addresses. The default wallet for trezor only uses segwit addresses. I believe that you should have the option to use the legacy wallet and be able to sign a message from there.

All paid signature campaigns should be banned.

Hi guys,

Bitcoin Core has not established a protocol to sign from segwit addresses. The default wallet for trezor only uses segwit addresses. I believe that you should have the option to use the legacy wallet and be able to sign a message from there.

My literal reading of the question "Can I sign&verify btc transaction on trezor" is that he is asking if the Trezor signs transactions to which the answer it "that is the main purpose of the device, so yes"

Reading between the line perhaps, as you assumed, he is really asking "Can I sign&verify messages on trezor" to which the answer for legacy Bitcoin addresses is "of course - it has always been able to do this"

AND the answer for SegWit addresses is "Trezor is one of the few wallets that can and does offer a signature algorithm for SegWit addresses - full disclosure:  the SegWit signature algorithm implemented on the Trezor is not a standard yet."

Finally to answer his question "i connected my trezor but i didn't find that option on btc wallet" I would need to connect one of my Trezors and find it but I am currently at work so I will do that when I get home or, someone else can answer that part.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

The real answer to whether you can currently use a trezor to sign a message with a Segwit address is found here. https://blog.trezor.io/rolling-out-trezor-wallet-segwit-segregated-witness-5700269debc5

Why can’t I sign or verify a message?

While the TREZOR firmware supports signing with SegWit addresses, there are currently no other wallets or services which support the signing feature. Also, there is no agreed standard yet, therefore the compatibility of signature and verification processes cannot be guaranteed. These functions were temporarily removed from TREZOR Wallet.

I've been using Trezor for a very long time. I really like using the password manager, but there is a question - if I lose it and want to recover by seed, will the data of the password manager be restored or not?

Unfortunately, with the new segwit addresses, you cannot sign a message. I don't have my Trezor with me. It may work with the legacy wallet.

Guys, just another question.
When I create a legacy address and sign my message after Trezor reconnects my address disappears. But if I click "Add legacy account" the address creates again. Does Trezor wallet not show empty addresses of what?  Huh

Have you ever thought of just going to Amazon and searching for "Trezor".  Wouldn't that be even easier than coming here and asking someone else to do it for you?

Oh, I see, you are just spamming your paid spam signature.

SatoshiLabs probably has to wait and see the final code for Bitcoin Gold before committing to supporting this or not.

Can’t Tolerate This’: TREZOR Ditches BitPay Over SegWit2x ‘Games’

https://cointelegraph.com/news/cant-tolerate-this-trezor-ditches-bitpay-over-segwit2x-games

Bitcoin hardware wallet TREZOR is ending its BitPay integration over what its CTO describes as “playing games” with its API.

In Twitter posts Thursday, Pavol Rusnak said that because BitPay could potentially rename the SegWit2x chain ‘BTC,’ Trezor would no longer display its tickers.

The hardware wallet had adopted a cautious approach to SegWit2x, while BitPay, along with fellow wallet Xapo, said it would potentially treat the 2x chain as ‘BTC’ should it gain sufficient support.

“We're replacing… BitPay exchange rates API in… TREZOR Web Wallet because they plan to play games with the BTC ticker. Can't tolerate this,” Rusak wrote...........
