You can already generate bech32 addresses and spend from them if you use the latest Electrum. I have used it a few times without any problems. TREZOR is fully compatible with SegWit but it lacks some features on the official TREZOR website.
I spoke to them and full bech32 support should come soon. It's their priority right now in addition to native ETH/ETC support.

RIght, but I'm asking about python-trezor, not the wallet.trezor.io service, or Electrum. My plan is to use the device with some privacy, you can't get that unless you use python-trezor. You can already generate bech32 / bc1 addresses with python-trezor, but it's not obvious that spending works with python-trezor yet (the documentation at https://github.com/trezor/python-trezor/blob/master/docs/EXAMPLES.rst implies you might be able to, but it's not clear you definitely can spend from bech32)

Super excited for this. Any estimates for when you will accept orders? Maybe 4-6 weeks?
What? They have been selling them for over three years. You can buy now. bit.ly/2L6pw2I

My plan is to use the device with some privacy, you can't get that unless you use python-trezor. Note that you can run your own ElectrumX server or Electrum Personal Server and with " electrum --oneserver --server 0.0.0.0:50002:s" you can ensure your Electrum wallet/client only connects to that server. So this is an alternative way to use a private full node+wallet (but requires some setup.) Bech32 receiving/spending works fine with Electrum+Trezor. Personally I don't know much about python-trezor, so this still doesn't answer your question though, lol.

Yesterday, TREZOR released a new software update for both TREZOR T and TREZOR One. Even their wallet page got an update allowing users to export their transaction history as PDF and CSV. The most noticeable features are: Cashaddr support (Bitcoin Cash new address format), Zcash Overwinter Update readiness and support for many new cryptocurrencies such as Lisk, Decred, Bitcoin Private, XEM (model T) and so on. You can find more information on their blog.

Probably just their way to force people into switching.

The coins which were added in this update, are supported by both TREZOR T and TREZOR One. I mentioned XEM because TREZOR T didn't support it until now (unlike model One). TREZOR keeps their promise but they mentioned that some coins might take longer to become available on the older model due to different software.

Well they needed to sell all older model in stock Eventually they will stop testing all updates for older models, they can say whatever they want at this point but all major hardware manufacturers do this kind of stuff for their equipment. When something goes into EOL section you get only critical updates and nothing that could add additional value to your device. Sure you will get firmware updates for Trezor 1, but all new additions like for example new coins support not so sure about that.

Yes, that sucked. The update wiped my two Trezor One devices. Having to restore with 24 word seeds is annoying. My Trezor T updated without wiping the device. Also, why is there still no official DGB support in the wallet? It was added to the firmware many updates ago and it works by manually inputting the backend DGB explorer. I do not understand why Satoshi Labs is dragging their feet on DGB support in the official wallet site.

Every piece of code is open source so you can contribute and help developers with making this possible. Don't expect them to add every single cryptocurrency to their official wallet. It would be a huge mess. They are probably busy with more important things such as Monero support and TREZOR model T new features.

For some reason Satoshi Labs is hesitating to release it. They finished the code a year ago for DGB integration into Trezor wallet. There is nothing to add other than a pull down menu to the wallet website.

I can't find anything related to it on their github beside the changelog. Could you help me with that? Also, they have added a lot of new coins in this update and stated that they will add them to the wallet interface in the coming days. I will try to ask them about DigiByte on their Telegram channel.

Go into custom settings on the web wallet or beta web wallet and enter the following for the server URL. https://explorer.digibyteprojects.com You can then use your Trezor to receive and send Digibyte. Functionality has been working for over a year now. They just do not add it to the menu for some reason.

It looks like Monero support is almost here! https://twitter.com/TREZOR/status/1012308383305695232You can then use your Trezor to receive and send Digibyte. Functionality has been working for over a year now. They just do not add it to the menu for some reason.
Thank you for the instructions but I have already known that. It's inconvenient but DigiByte is not the only affected cryptocurrency. They are still updating their redesigned wallet so it's probably a matter of time. As I wrote earlier, I will try to ask them about it on their Telegram channel.

I find there a new version of Firmware. So, after updating, device memory will be cleared and I need to reactivate device with seed? Right? Can't it be updated without clearing memory?
