That is new to me. Someone who knows bitcoin yet he doesnt invest in it, instead he is mining altcoin for a part of bitcoin. Interesting. What coin are you in to? I think that is a good decision for a good profit.
i hope that bitcoin will never be without altcoins because it surely helps bitcoin grow and with trading the altcoin you can make a lot of money over time i think it would be really great i think
bitcoin is still alive without alt coin but better if there is another coin like altcoin can push the growing of bitcoin. with altcoin can make another people is not a bitcoin user is interested in joining with them. and pushing the statistic of bitcoin.

Altcoin is a big help to increase the price of bitcoin because some altcoin competing bitcoin to be the best coin. But more of the users threat the altcoin as an other investment by trading to increase their income

bitcoin would have the high value more than 1K usd if there were no altcoin. but then of course thats not going to happen.
source code has to be for public for the trust of the community. and since its almost required to make the codes for public, altcoin can always exist.

Mining bitcoin alone isn't just very profitable right now. Mining alt coin, however, not only is it easier in terms of difficulty but it is also easier since you don't really need as much miners as you need like in bitcoins. Mining ETH for example is very easy and profitable if you're going to do it alone.

The potential of the altcoin is more than the bitcoin. If you choose the right coin, you make more profit.

Well IMO I think bitcoin would still be better even if there were no altcoins. It's just that there will be no altcoin trading and some sites won't exist without it, and the bitcoin community wouldn't be the same as it is now earning decently on altcoin trading and the likes will be affected without altcoin.

Actually it makes bitcoin look like it is bigger thanks to those altcoins. When you see the gap in prices you will think that this is the best choice to have an investment with.

I don’t think it will effect much to bitcoin because it has its own advantages and features and it does not depend upon other crypto-currencies.As for me only bitcoins matter and not any other altcoins much.

Bitcoin without altcoin could have not reached such a high level as its now. When the competence increases the growth will be enormous.

I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?
I think if there were no other strong cryptocurrencies, btc would be a monopolist with a huge price. However, I think it is just as impossible as for btc to suddenly rise up to 1000$ in one day

In my opinion, only few alts have purpose in Bitcoin ecosystem. I dont want to mention any specific coin, just Bitcoin need some anon alternative when you dont want to anyone track your transactions. Other than that, maybe some faster coin, but all others are just shitcoins if you ask me.

Yes that would be true that other coins are just alternatives. They may come handy when bitcoin will no longer be in the cycle. So at the meantime we just let them roam around and give traders more options in their portfolio and make trading more fun.  But let us focus on bitcoin since it is really what most people today are using and it is the most useful cryptocurrency at the moment.

That is right. I do not buy the bitcoin directly. I mine the altcoin and then convert the altcoin into the bitcoin.

None of the currency is dependant on any other currency so we can say that without altcoin there will be no lose to bitcoin, but if any issue occurred to bitcoin then people will lose trust on altcoins also as bitcoin is considered as the master of all crypto currencies.

For some people or miners, they mine the altcoin to get the bitcoin. Without altcoin, they will not have bitcoin.

Saying the truth i think that altcoins has increased and decreased the value of bitcoin, sometimes bitcoin crashes because traders move their bitcoins to altcoins to trade and invest there.

if no altcoin then bitcoin have attractive prices. with their altcoin make bitcoin prices constantly change with the various rates altcoin. like in the real world, bitcoin is USD dollar. while altcoin is the yen, rupee, euro, pound sterling and others. all bind together and need each other.

I am a miner. I mine the altcoins to get bitcoin. Without altcoin, I will not be a bltcoin owner as I do not buy bitcoin directly.

Yes. as a trader. I also have similar thoughts. an altcoin trader and an altcoin miner surely know the importance of both and know how much altcoin important for bitcoin. it is true that if altcoin not exist the bitcoin also will be fine and it won't effect so much. but this is also true like a hell that altcoin increased and bitcoin value and demand so much.
everyone can't mine bitcoin because of the expensive mining equipments but mining altcoin is more easy so people mine altcoin to earn bitcoins.

Bitcoin is the origin and the core version of digital currencies so I think it will be very fine without altcoin since it is the main, Altcoins in the other way won't actually exist without bitcoin since it is the main and gets the media coverage.

If altcoin didnt exist, I think bitcoin price will be very fluctuative since everybody will focus only on this crypto currency. The price could fluctuate within a relatively short time. Altcoins give an alternative ways to gain some profit. But frankly, bitcoin can survive without altcoins since bitcoin is the 'father' of all crypto currencies.

Altcoins have a long tradition in the Bitcoin community, but they tend to cause a contentious divide among those who think they’re useful and those who think they’re all scams. One side of the argument, articulated by the Satoshi Nakamoto Institute’s Daniel Krawisz, is that altcoins have no chance of success and distract possible users from Bitcoin, while the other side, articulated by many Ethereum supporters, believe platforms such as Bitcoin and Ethereum can work together.

I don’t think the Bitcoin developers ‒ they’re not doing things from a perceived competitive perspective. Their perspective is: ‘I have this awesome piece of technology, and I want to be able to help develop it and bring it more into what I think is interesting to build on top of this.’ So no, I don’t think it’s from a perceived threat of any of the altcoins.
