Is there anyway to tell ticket prices before purchasing?
This is also helpful. Edit: someone beat me too it. https://dcrstats.com/On the stats page I find this comment: Don't buy new PoS tickets right now
Current ticket price 4.23 DCR is very high compared with all time low 2 DCR. We suggest to wait for the PoS-difficulty adjustment. I'm calculating: The probability to find a block with a ticket is around 99% in 142 days. The reward is 1.8 DCR. The gain is calculated by ( 4.23 DCR + 1.8 DCR ) / 4.23 DCR. So the gain is 42,5% over a year. The recommendation of the devs is now, waiting with buying further tickets, because 42,5% seems not enougth. This are times I have to review my investment. Or to stay there, to squeeze out a greedy world. Did I miss something, perhaps? Confusing... Why don't just trying it? In 1 and a half days my 191.815 DCR became 197.23. As simple as that.

I think you missed this part. dcrstats.com is the biggest unofficial dashboard of Decred Network. Ok, the devs are not driving this page and have no direct influence what is written there, if I understood this right. Then I will stay as an investor for squeeze out the greeds to help the devs.

How you do that ?
I observe nature, and try to learn from it. There is too much misunderstanding in between human beings, and along the escalation path it will become even more. Until the end.

Hi I received correctly my airdrop, many thanks to all devs. For now I leave my DCR quiet where they are. As I truly believe that for mass adoption of any cryptocurrency, people and shops in real life must be able to fully confirm a payment whitin 5-10 seconds, when paying a magazine or a coffe with a card or a phone, is it planned to develop a feature like Zerotime from Vanillacoin into Decred (if Zerotime really works, don't know) ? https://github.com/john-connor/papers/blob/master/zerotime.pdfThanks for your work.

wow... this coin was difficult to mined LOL and from https://dcrstats.com/ i can see Dev subsidy: 3.1195 DCR what was taht ? 10% of the block reward goes the development fund. A request for proposal is made to the community. If a person makes a proposal, it is approved, and when that person delivers the work, they get compensated in DCR for their work. It is a fund to encourage other people in the community besides the original dev team to start making improvements to this coin. Here is the link to the address with the disbursement fund. https://mainnet.decred.org/address/Dcur2mcGjmENx4DhNqDctW5wJCVyT3QeqkxAt this moment nothing has been spent from this fund. I am not certain who controls the private key for this address. I suppose that it could be subject to abuse. Edit: I guess Decred Holdings Group LLC ("DHG"), a Nevis LLC controls the private key for the fund. They are an offshore corporation it appears. Not certain who the officers are at the moment, but probably the members of the current dev team.

I am not certain who controls the private key for this address. I suppose that it could be subject to abuse.
"a development organization" - Self-funded development via block subsidy - In order to have an ongoing source of funding for development work, a consensus rule has been added to allocate 10% of each block subsidy to a development organization. This entity is transparent and responsible for funding development work performed by current and new developers so that the project remains sustainable without a funding dependence on outside forces in the future. Decred therefore improves with growth in a sustainable way and is accountable only to its users.
Any more details anyone?

Any more details anyone? What if this key is lost or hacked and abuse (in future)? I guess, at that point, this coin and any bagholders will be SOL. They could change the code so that future subsidy goes to another address. However, with over 18000 coins and growing sitting in this account, I would think this would be more than a superficial blow to this coin's health. Of course, the dev team could do the right thing and reimburse the new subsidy account with some of the premine. The remedy would probably be too little too late, since a dumpfest would likely occur if this happened, with no chance of market recovery. Does anyone have more info on how this fund is handled? I would pray that it is sitting in cold storage at the moment. I would also assume that the funds can be recovered with a seed, rather than the key. It would be pretty stupid to lose both the private key and the seed.

So, I guess that is innovative in a way. However, I do not see a clear marketing strategy for this coin, ATM. Tinkering with code, and making improvements with code is great, but ATM, the only purpose of this coin seems to be trading on the exchange.
