well it very much seems that way.  I will have to ask him to update and then load his wallet and then see if the balance is still showing in his wallet....  So bottom line.... What happened? the coins never left his wallet? are they in limbo? Or in my wallet?  Where is that HODL lol?

so by the start of the next year many will dump here lol, i have 24k in hold mode, which will be unlocked in march, but the price is bad already, i would get only 0.24 if no more dump will happen, and i'm sure more will happen

Many other Coins also crashes this time. Understand this as chance to buy cheep. So I.
One part to deposit, the other part to trade in the next days or Weeks.
The price goes down, the price goes up. That's normal and usefull for trading.

Please not another fork. A fork creates more problems than it solves. It's good that you have published this behavior. "It's a bug or a feature"? I think the second   . It allows anybody to maturate longer. Once some coins are transferred, these extra-maturation will stop. The effect will therefore not be as strong.

This fork is different from the previous, this one doesn't add anything but just fixes a bug, therefore if executed cleanly it won't make any problems.

Yes, we had a lot of hassle with getting YoBit to update last time, so we'd want to give them at least a month's notice of an fork, and there are no guarantees with them. I'd advise everyone to withdraw any funds from YoBit in advance of any fork in future.

The other update we want to get done is to get the improved optiminer code compiled in the wallet. That's taken a back seat over the past month, but should definitely be included in any new release.

Yes, Yobit is now on the right chain.
With yobit that's such a thing: you have to find the few pearls there. Hodl is definitely one.

I think its just market fluctuations.. its back at around 1000 satoshis now. The good thing is that trading volume has picked up a bit lately. Its the most profitable CPU coin right now

Sooo..... my friend just resynched the 2.0.0 wallet and ran the -salvagewallet command on his wallet.  The hodl transactions that he sent me did in fact disappear from his wallet but the HODL did not reappeared....    So where are those HODL´s?     Can anyone help with this???  TIA again guys.

I noticed my xfer to YObit a few days ago, it took several hours before it appeared in my YObit balance.  If the TXid appears in the block explorer, the balance will appear in the YObit wallet.  It may take a while, or day...

I noticed some strange behavior with matured deposits yesterday that I've been looking into. After a term deposit matures, it's not supposed to earn any further interest until it's either moved or placed into another term deposit. However I noticed matured deposits were still earning interest and I figured out why today.

The error is on or about line 232 of transaction.cpp -

        blocks=std::min(ONEYEAR,valuationHeight-outputBlockHeight);

The code should also check that the number of blocks being rewarded is not greater than the term deposit time but does not.

Here's an example of what it means in practice.

Let's say you make a term deposit of 100 HODL for 2 months.

What should happen is that after 2 months your deposit is unlocked and ceases to earn interest.

What actually happens is that after 2 months the deposit is unlocked but continues to earn interest for up to a year. The interest multiplier still uses the 2 month period bonus, so someone locking for say 6 months would still earn more than someone who locked for 2months and got the unintended extra interest.

I propose a hard fork to correct this problem - to simply say after block X, the additional interest is no longer recognized. Another alternative is to leave it as it is. It's not really a showstopper, but I think the intended behavior is superior so is worth the fork.

I say we do nothing. just my opinion. I will of course back you whatever decision you come to. The yobit thing took a lot of work on many peoples part to get them to update. You want some good fun read the chat logs from that time frame. It is sad we have to work with such a terrible scam exchange. What do you think the impact would be if we did nothing at all. it does make people keep hodlin and that is what we are going to need during that time frame. Im down with it I like it. I say we promote it as a new feature. Fish
