I remember them saying subsequent units will be 1599$, not 1999... But I may remember wrong. Afterwards, they priced everything @ 1299$. But again, I might have got it wrong. Either way, like Sounds said above, until there's competition they can set the price. Now, a dismantling of my Icarus cluster seems to be on the horizon... Hopefully they keep the 399$ trade-in rebate.

Well, ~1500 dollars falls somewhere in between, so at least for now it's decent pricing. Let's see how everything pans out now, with the new subdomain. Awaiting new info. Also we need to see if the competitors catch up with them in the next 1-2 months.

Anyway, they mention on the site that they plan on delivering at least 300 units weekly once production ramps up. That's 20 TH added to the network per week starting march, and that's only Avalon. Things are bound to get interesting fast.

they entered to compete with BFL improving their hashrate at the same price, but from the beginning they said that this price would only be with the first 300 units

No I mean the positive one that the greedy ones rushing to avalon will need to pay to get their units. (1299->1499)

If I recall correctly 1499 is lower than their original non-discounted advertised prices.
