Its that the way of Chinese business, or just from Avalon/Bitsyncom?

They never set out to be a retail company with full on marketing and customer support and that's very much reflected in their priorities.

To some extent, Asian business culture is different than US business culture but I don't think that's the central issue here.

It is disappointing, to say the least, that Yifu hasn't answered the question of whether the batch of 53 units Avalon has shipped made it out of China before the CNY cut-off date as that affects when we can expect to see more Avalons in the wild.
Thus you have your answer? Smiley

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Sad that so far no one had the balls to take responsibility for that fiasco today. No excuse, nothing. Sad

They got 300k and only produced two devices, one doing 70GHs, the other doing 90GHs.. This performance can be reproduced cheaper than 300k.. Smiley

It would be nice if they finished shipping batch #1 before spending effort trying to take batch #2 orders.  I've still heard nothing on my Batch #1 order.

Having batch # 1 order also ( it was easier to overcome bugs and make an order at that time )
Confirming. Still only the same "Bitcoin Payment Completed".

After coins was sended status were still hanging in "Pending" more than 4 days, contacted bitsyncom via mail and he resolved this issue later.

What we have now:
mail, ticket, and finally PM was sent recently regarding the EMS issues ( did i miss the choose form somewhere? ), shipping status and batch # 2 ordering problems - but no communication ever in this year.

In summary, i have a mixed feelings for now as im starting to have doubts if i will receive something ever ..
maybe it's all hinting me that it's a good thing i finally didn't make an order from batch # 2 before receiving something i ordered before from them, and also i doubt about ever trying to place an order on batch # 3.. Only time will tell now, if i put my trust to right or wrong people.

batch #1 is http://store.avalon-asic.com/
batch #2 is http://store.avalon-asics.com/

@ BitSyncom
Since you have time to answer all the really nice questions above;
Maybe you have also the time to answer this?
-How many units have you ship so far
-and how much is the expected daily capacity before the CNY?

Or is it a trade secret?
Thanks for your time.

around 12 a day currently, so total about 40, however I am seriously unsure how many actually made it outside of the country, I'll be giving Jeffs tracking number soon as I get it, during business hours I call the people handling the shipping every 2 hours or so for updates.

We are seriously bottle necked by Customs at the moment ( due to upcoming CNY as well ) and are looking for more routes, it isn't really a trade secret as this is honestly beyond our control at this point. God, I hate sounding like BFL.

So has anyone else received their units other than the 2 known?  Shipping 12 a day I'm sure more than 2 would have made it to their destination by now.

poop!

Hey I totally understand people are wanting to know where their orders are. So I want to make sure people are reading the front page.

Shipping Time: Jan 20th – March 1st, 2013 (Batch 1)

Now if this is being shipped from China it can take up to a month before you will receive your item. This is customs, possible container shipment, etc. This is common practice and has been going on for years. (I used to sell lighting accessories for cars, trucks, etc.) Avalon has no control over shipping besides the carrier they use. Just because Avalon has posted shipped doesn't mean all orders where shipped. Orders started to be shipped on that day.

I am positive that I read a post that Yifu would like to have a US distributor. This way he can send a large amount of units through a container to clear customs and can be sent through the united states quickly. However, there are a lot of strings on both ends to make this happen. Business licenses, agreements, etc. And unless Avalon can get stock on these units there is no way for this to happen anytime soon.

Just a side note.

Purchase an item on ebay that is shipping from China. It takes about 3 weeks or so to receive your item.

Except if they shipped DHL or EMS as they said, it should take no more than 10-14 days MAX. Usually it's about a week.

I order stuff from india, china and all over the pacific regularly. Heavier and more complex than this. Customs usually takes 2-3 days max unless they are sending you a nasty-gram.

China and Hong Kong have shipping down. Western Russia, not so much.

Sorry with all the Avalon posts I missed this. I didn't know all where sent DHL or EMS.

But with that being said. He still has until March 1st to get all orders of Batch #1 out. And then gives 10-14 days from there. March 15th.. its time to freak out!
