I wonder, if major pools are in a bad luck, that means someone could be pushing luck, or using rainbow tables...just saying...
Maybe someone is doing a block withholding attack. I doubt it, though.
As I mentioned in organofcorti's thread, there is also now a very clear reason why to do that.

What is the Automatic Namecoin to Bitcoin exchange rate for OZ Pool?

Also what does the efficiency mean, example: "Namecoin Round: [ 800,681 Shares | 0d 0h 30m | 89.28% Efficiency"

Means that a NameCoin block was found by the pool  @89.28% of the current difficulty

Oooops, I should stick to things I have (f)actual knowledge of  Grin

namecoin conversion is based on current rates, so changes with the market rate.Right now 0.00285000BTC per NMC

efficiency in the case is the percentage of shares returned to served
most miners on ozcoin disable the namecoin longpoll, this causes more namecoin stale shares and thus lower efficiency but limits the number of Bitcoin stale shares
Bitcoin round efficiency is usually >99%
with a namecoin worth 0.00285000BTC currently, most miners prefer to be sure of the Bitcoin blocks Smiley

DutchBrat I think you are being confused by the % of round difficulty displayed by the bot in IRC, it is not efficiency as show on site Smiley

okay I understand everything except where you said "be sure of the Bitcoin blocks"

do you mean right now they disable namecoin long polling to make sure to get the most bitcoins, the opposite or something else?

Longpoll is the pool software telling mining software to "discard current work and get some fresh work, there is a new block on the network" namecoin has a lower difficulty so there are more namecoin longpolls
BUT when the namecoin longpoll comes Bitcoin work is also discarded, possibly Bitcoin work that would solve a Bitcoin block.
with the relative value of namecoin versus Bitcoin, most miners would prefer to be sure of the Bitcoin blocks and suffer a few more namecoin stales
Ozcoin allows the options of mining with or without namecoin longpolls (per worker setting) or pure Bitcoin mining with no merged (port 8331)
hope that helps

great I'll turn off nmc longpoll then Smiley

great pool, really liking it

Does get new work mean start a new share or something else? I'm not sure on what a 'share' is, what is sent to workers and what it means when a new block is found what happens

yes, particularly when there is a new block on the network, no point on working on the previous block.
a "share" is a work unit, the pool keeps count of these to know how much to pay you Smiley
shares do not exist in solo mining

Saw an orphaned block, assumed that's why payout is less than average last 24h

Are you still planning on increasing the data on the luck section? 15 blocks is only like 16 hours for us now.

I was thinking it would be cool to have 1,30,90 day luck percentages like p2pool. Or at least something more long term.

Thanks Graet

yes it is, I had hoped to have an all time graph up by now.
ø Shares/Difficulty Ratio:   98.87% shows we are doing ok since we switched to DGM, though it was closer to 96% a few weeks ago.

Graet,

I'm testing your pool with DGM, I've noticed that using firefox or chrome, on windows and firefox on mac, when logged in, the righ "frame" User DGM Statistics covers part of the the central "frame", data and/or graphs.
