It's odd, I see the price of NMC vs BTC going up. Until it goes into a freefall, I'll be mining it either myself with p2pool, or on bitminter. M Thanks for the kind words guys, Blaksmith has been an awesome addition to the team and Wayno continues to be great and reliable support. They have put huge time into the stratum/VarDiff/POT setups and some recent updates to site and API. I am very pleased with how it is all running and looking currently We have looked at adding NMC to stratum, but the amount of coding time to support a unsupported alt coin isn't time well spent in our opinion Most of the NMC mined on Ozcoin is auto converted (we pay out between 5 and 10 actual NMC per day to miners) price is dropping towards a 40,000NMC buy wall at 0.00425000 once through that (if it stays) I can see NMC going into freefall.... I am having to sell 500-700NMC/day to minimise my losses in the falling market as I am sure other pool operators are doing and miners that are paid in NMC from non auto converting pools (shame it doesn't have a use or value apart from exchange for BTC anymore). I do see it is (decreasing) additional income for miners, a few weeks ago NMC was ~3% of income, my feeling is (have been a bit busy to do the maths for a few days) it is rapidly approaching 1.5-2%, with the incredibly low stales on stratum most miners are close to 1% better off than on getwork. We will continue to run the ecoinpool getwork nodes with NMC for the time being, there will come a time when they get turned off. If not before it will be when Version2 blocks reach a supermajority. cheers Graet Stratum is open source, if anyone wants to take the time to make a merged mining patch I am sure not just Ozcoin would use it. Or supply a 100BTC bounty to Blaksmith to spend the time coding it into Ozcoin's setup We do not think the reward for effort is there. Ozcoin does provide merged mining on the getwork servers for those that need NMC

Someone found a bug for us - mistaken vardiff setting I think when setting -2 or lower for Variable Difficulty stuff screws up including pool hashrate, and submitted shares being shown as negative :/ Please do not try it - you will get 0 payout Payouts are showing correct
***BUG fixed***
Best wishes Graet

Hello, mining on stratum, bamt shows that i'm mining, but both the website and the widget app shows me as offline. Is everything ok? Are my shares beeing counted?
edit : Now, it's ok... i guess!!
edit 2: BTW, how is the payout of POT processed? Or when? What is the process?

Payouts for PoT are processed the same way as PPS payouts. Payouts are run every 30 minutes. If you are a VIP (with donation of 2% or more), you will be paid within 30 minutes when your balance is over your payout threshold. Non VIP, you will have to wait until the blocks worked on that pushed you over your payout threshold have had 120 confirms or more.Edit: PPS / POT does not have the payout delay of 120 confirms like DGM does.

I am having this problem now also.....is something amiss on your end? Of course this happens right after I decide to switch all miners over.....

If I am using CGminer, can I ignore the memo on a stratum proxy?
I run 12 miners in an offsite location, using mobile broadband for my internet....suffering some connection issues and I am wondering if that has something to do with it.

um, memo? not sure what you mean there, cgminer natively supports stratum now. mobile internet is known to have connection issues at times and probably has a lot to do with losing connection no-one else is reporting issues and site hashrate is higher than it has been for months.

NM.....I clearly have some issues connecting to Ozcoin over mobile Broadband......it works fine with 50BTC and Coinlab. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Do either of them use stratum yet? maybe try a getwork server and see if that helps us.ozco.in:8332 or eu.ozco.in :8332

Stratum implementations have problems with unreliable connections. The main one being that when you lose a connection, most (all?) pools won't allow you to reconnect and then pass back any work you did from the previous connection, you have to throw away the old work when you reconnect. (this has been brought up before but I think pretty much everyone has ignored it) If you have a reliable connection, then that's not really much of an issue, but if you have an unreliable connection, then the disconnect/reconnects can lead to losing work ... the more unreliable your connection is, the more work you will lose. Is that what you are seeing, or is it something else?

Hi Yochdog, Mine on getwork only by pointing your miners to http://us.ozco.in:8332 and adding the --fix-protocol switch to cgminer. --fix-protocol tells cgminer to ignore the advertised Stratum or GBT headers. Best, James

Well the solution is logically straight forward. But I presume the issue is the implementation - and well that depends on the software, not my ideas The solution is quite simply that you must keep work around after a disconnect and allow it to be replied to on a reconnect. Associating the two connections is logically quite obvious ... worker. There could be an issue if someone is mining on multiple rigs over the unreliable connection to the same worker, so I presume there would need to be some way to allow any new connection to the same worker, to be allowed to reply to any old work, for the same worker, that hadn't expired but has lost the client. The time frame is also quite obvious, since it would be the same time frame as if the user didn't disconnect. I've no ideas what problems there are implementing that, but of course I've no idea what restrictions are in the software design of the pool.

Every time I tried stratum mining (3 different miners, multiple versions of cgminer and bfgminer, etc) I got JSON authentication errors. I finally broke down and created new auto workers and all 3 switched over flawlessly.
