According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Having an i5 or faster and 8GB+ of RAM also seems to help.

I can get over 40sol/s on my RX480 in my i7 with 16gb machine. But in my dual core Pentium G3220 with 4GB RAM I only get about 30sol/s per card.

I've also noticed a performance boost by having the card in a 16x PCIe slot instead of 1x PCIe.  I would imagine PCIe generation differences also making a difference.

I'm using a Celeron with 4 gb of ram using windows. 42 sols/s all day per RX480

Today I tried existing miners, I don't like their stability and speed.
Ok, I will release first version of my ZCash miner very soon. AMD only.

Great news!! Equihash + AMD currently equals bug city. And the primary coin is worth more than 1 btc, close to 2.

Agreed, to keep the miners running I had to use a script loop to relaunch them every 10 minutes Cheesy
At least the restart is pretty fast.

care to share your script  please Smiley
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3wMsc4FJjyYjdjLVB4YnNIR2M/view

very nice & helpfull script to make my miner more have stabillity
but, sometimes i have dialog box says "genoil.exe has stopped working"..
if i closed that box, than miner run again..

and maybe can you make auto loading for this script:
example:
cd C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0
call powershell.exe
type Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned
type Y
close

thanks and very apreciated for you  Wink

Go to Start>search(or use windows key+r), type in gpedit.msc to open the group policy editor. Then click Admin templates>Windows Components>Windows error reporting. In the right hand side double click "Prevent display of the user...." to open it, then enable

@Xardas2014 By the way do we need to restart the miner every 10 to 15 min to lower the difficulty and make finding share faster?
No, that script only restarts the miner if there is a problem. Restarting a lot to lower difficulty is rather pointless in my opinion. Sure you find more easy shares, but they are of lesser weight. Not sure if weight is the correct term, but it is all that comes to mind. Anyway, in the long term it works out the same. Similar to mining on a small pool that doesn't have many miners and doesn't find many blocks, but when it does find a block you get a nice slice of it.

H81 Pro BTC, G3240, 4GB RAM, 6 x RX470 Nitro+ 4GB (Hynix) = ~230 Sol/s  (Linux, 1500 mem strap, no GPU/mem overclock, zogminer)

Isn't ZCASH ASICS and GPU resistant? My old 1st gen i7 does as well as an RX470, I think it's normal.
You cant have 6 I7s on one system.  :p but you're kinda right, my RX 480 doesnt beat one core of my 7990 from 2013 lol. (except in stability)

AND efficiency. Don't forget the MUCH lower power usage.

I hope you can make Equihash miner, current state of mining in zcash is a disaster.
I have never seen such rush/stress about new coin, all devs and miners with a great enthusiasm started to create mining software and mine zcash even before it was launched. I'm impressed, it's seems I'm the only dev that don't have own miner at the moment Smiley

At the launch date (today and tomorrow) around 300 ZCash coins will be mined. with a price of 1BTC per zcash, the pioneer miners will split the 300BTC reward. ($207 000 per day (24hours))

The total etherum network is currently making around ($343 341) to the miners per day (24hours). If half of the miners switch to zcash, Etherum will be 2x more profitable to mine, and Claymore's income might decrease.

The Zcash future prices indicates that 1ZEC = 1BTC..

This is interesting...So 1 ZEC is worth 1 BTC even if it still doesn't exist? Cheesy

Or it will be worth in December?

Who cares? I mined 1.6BTC in 48 using my laptop and PC with Nvidia card. My rigs are all AMD so they only came online Sunday but by then the gap was closed. at 2500BTC per ZEC on Poloniex early adopters paid off most of there hardware.

Damn. You were very lucky. I wasn't able to use my amd rig when the price were that high but for now i'm getting 3 times what i used to get mining etc.

trust me, it's not that much better. I mine with my 7990 undervolted hard, I cant do that for some reason with my 480. it's a lemon.

PS: Obviously I'm talking core per core Shocked

Stable? Or does it crash every few hours or so. I can't get my 470 stable with any modded bioses.

Hotmetal - what miner are you using and what settings? Thanks

Genoil and using -k zec zec zec
(that will use close to 6 GB of ram on your GPU)

thanks hotmetal.... my 6x480 just went overdrive!

that zec x 3 = 3 zec instances?

My rig:
Sapphire 480 8gb vram
celeron 1840 on H81 BTC Pro
8gb RAM, SSD 120GB
