The rule that hashrate follows price is obviously kind of broken in XMR. I guess due to the many botnets which mine for free. The same could happen to ZEC soon. CPU coins suck.

It's easier to set up a one size fits all miner that can be run on n PCs to CPU mine for XMR. Less the case for other currencies.

Now when silentarmy v3 miner comes, the power of Claymore's miner is its user friendliness and a lot of options including remote monitoring and management. Plus now Windows version that silentarmy v3 lucks (yet).

Though, I still cannot run ETH CDM on some motherboard that has internal video set as a primary (it does not start without it). CDM just does not have an "OpenCL platform" option and fails to run on it. Another system under Windows I know of does not display temperatures for cards for the same reason: Windows detects internal video as the 1st adapter and return its temperature readings to CDM. So CDM mines on few AMD GPUs but displays just one temperature for internal video that happened to be found as the 1st adapter in the Windows system. And there is no option to select the temp/fan monitoring platform and order.

This is where open source rules: I can fix anything there, but in CDM.

Buy a dummy hdmi plug, costs $15 and saves you from enabling internal graphics or lacking temp/fans/overclocking

Yeah for some reason AMD cards only show temps, and give clocks, voltage etc options if at least one AMD card has a monitor attached.  You can get an HDMI dummy plug, or use second video input on monitor (if it has it).  I have no problems with my miners, mostly Intel, but have one with an APU, never had issues if I used the plugs.  You don't need them to mine, but better remote desktop, and monitoring.

can get 4k version for $20, but totally unnecessary.

CPU mining in Zcash will be obsolete very soon! As the difficulty rises CPU's will retire!

A shitty i7-6700HQ in my notebook gets 25 Sol/s with one of those lousy first-gen miners. Without CPU boost! I think it draws less than 45W. Obsolete my ass. This coin will be botnet op's dream come true cutting deep into GPU mining revenues. I predict less profitability than ETH had in the past few months. Then ETH switch to PoS and hundreds of throusands of GPUs will desperately search for new revenues and flood ZEC further.

right, i didn't bother mining ZEC on my core 2 quads in my mining rigs...i think it gets only about 0.1 sols

while my gpu's aren't heating up, hopefully claymore will max them out in time.

Please discuss ZCash miner here now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1670733.0

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

Is there any way to set claymore to only mine the NVIDIA cards? I'm using his new zcash miner for the AMD cards, but was wondering if there's a way to run another instance of the ETH miner set to NVIDIA only. EDIT: Never mind, I see the -di option now.

Hello Comunity!
The story is little bit complicated, but i will try to tell you with some words.
Before 1week a good friend of mine call me and tell me that he owned 2 miners.I was excited. He tell me that he was bought the machines, but no have idea how to manage them and etc.,the man who managed them was start job that need to travel and cant support him.And now the miners are in my home, cuz its interested for me to "touch" crypto-currency.Thats is the story and now  i have some problems and etc.
They are two rigs metal construction 70x40x70cm.
First one:
MB:Asrock H81 Pro BTC
PSU:2xAurum Au-1200 proH
GPU:6xR9 390 [4xR9 390 windforce   2xR9 390 Sapphire Nitro]
HDD:120Gb SSD
CPU:Intel Celeron G1840 2.8Ghz
RAM:8Gb Adata
Powered risers
OS:Windows 10.0.10586
Second one:
MB:Asrock H81 Pro BTC
PSU:2xAurum Au-1200 proH
GPU:6xRX 480 [4xSapphire Radeon RX480 Nitro]
HDD:120Gb SSD
RAM:8Gb Patriot
CPU:Intel Celeron G1840 2.8Ghz
OS:Windows 10.0.14393

And now i will tell you what happends here.I use Claymore Dual Miner v5.1 on both miners.Used Crimson 16.6 on both.Installed TeamViewer on both.
Rig with R9 390 is stable now,but when try to open GPU-Z in background crash, windows stuck. On the beggining when i take this machines that rig ofently shows blue screen:thread_stuck_in_device_driver after that restart and wont up before switch PSUs and turn on againt, now i mining in single mode and its stable if you dont try to start GPU-Z.These are the setting of GPUs http://imgur.com/I371HgL http://imgur.com/dkk9jvp Those settings are set for 4GPUs and for other 2 are:Clock:+10,5 ;Power: 0% ;Mem Clock:1575Mhz
Fan:100%.
Now i mining with this rig in single mode with 196Mh/s.In dual mode rig crash after time.
Command Line:EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal MYADRESS7bad2985ee264cf67b0c12db7d.rig1 -epsw x
I make and reboot.bat and try to use -r 1 and miners says no reboot.bat file.My reboot file is:C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /r /t 5 /f.

Rig with RX 480 this is super strange machine. On the begining its runs with 6xGPUs and stuck after time, windows freeze. And waits for hard restart.yesterday i have many GPU fault and miner crash and crash, then i decide to remove one GPU and i remove one RX 480(not NITRO).And the machine runs very well.Today when i back from work i saw that in the miner have only 3GPUs and the second PSU was stopped.I try to turn on/off from the button, but nothing happens,i need to remove the bridge between Green and Black from molex and put again to start the PSU.Now i mining with 5xGPUs and seems stable.
GPU settings:http://imgur.com/1Pja0xw http://imgur.com/4qqJ9WK http://imgur.com/KYcHuHR http://imgur.com/sn61wF9
4xGPUs are set to 1342 Mhz and 1xGPU is set to 1250Mhz
Mining in single mode with 124 MH/s.
Command line:EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal MYADRESS85ee264cf67b0c12db7d.RX_480 -epsw x

I tried on both miners to set -r 1 to reboot when gpu faults but without success.I try on both -dbg 1 but its only create 2 files(on R9 390) one was empty, second was :Missed option value after -r option; ( then i see i was space between r and 1,and correct it)But everytime when something gone wrong its not reboot and dont make debug file.
Guys do you have some suggestions what to do?

They Draw from the wall 200kW/h for 6 days.

Good news: I'm going to release my ZEC miner in a few hours so all ZEC-related discussion will move to new thread finally Smiley
Bad news: I was not reach 100h/s on 390 in this version. I'm going to improve speed, but people want to have miner asap so I will release it as is, about 50h/s on stock 390X. I don't like to hurry so further improvements will be added later.
Damn, that was quick. Looking forward to try it out.
