these "shocks" are a regular thing in bitcoin market, and has always been around. but it doesn't mean you can't speculate about the future, especially for the long term.

these "shocks" are bumps in the road which only make the short term prediction hard. but you can always say that in a year from now bitcoin will be a lot bigger than today and price will be above $700 at least.

By following the progress since you posted this, I don't think it will be a rosy picture on 2017. The BitFinex hack had another negative impact on BTC and is quite a turn off for some of the more skeptical users. The case for using BTC is getting weaker and weaker every year and for most who have dabbled with it, consider it more of a fad than a revolutionary payment platform. Others think it's only good to invest in and that's it. 2017 will be more of the same like right now.
