I think that 2017 will bring some clearence how governments want to deal with bitcoins.
Some might start seeing bitcoins as a threat some as an opportunity and some will fall behind.
Especially the chinese market with all the mining power is going to be interesting
most likely to be true what will they do its not on us to decide its for them i just hope that adoption will go in our favor |

I don't think openbazar will have much influenze on bitcoin. for the normal user it is a little too complex to work with a decentralized market place. You need extra software, there is not much insurance that you get your product. Maybe after a few years, when the system has proven itself to be functioning. But for the next two years I just see it as useful for the bitcoin pros. There reasons for bitcoin developement now lie elsewhere. |

2016 will be the deciding year for bitcoins, this halving comes and the price will increase then we can see a more stable price after the halving. By 2017 the price will not be below $500 and will continue to rise as the demand increases. |

I think a change of bitcoin will not happen in the short term. 1 year is not going to change a lot of things. perhaps in 2017 in similar circumstances this year so next year may not be much different from this year may be a little better let's look at this year will be how far the developing bitcoin ? |

I don't want to disagree but for me we have different predictions what will happen with bitcoin for the year 2017. Let's just hope that 1k USD would be possible next year and it can be a good start for next year. |

Why should whales offload? If economy crashes and fiat will have less and less value due to printing and inflation everyone holding Bitcoin would be dumb to exchange it for that shitty paper!! I predict the whales will not offload in such a situation. No they will either buy goods with Bitcoin or keep on holding.There are whales out there who say "I have already cashed out of the current system!!No reason to switch back when shit hits the fan soon!" |

Despite all these conditions you mentioned I think bitcoin has its own patch somewhat beside main economy tracks. I won't deny that BTC and other financial markets are slightly connected. But it global situation won't matter as much as people might think, bitcoin is gradually getting stronger despite global economic situation. |

We don't know what will happen next year but still it is possible that 2017 will be the year of bitcoin and every year becomes year of the bitcoin  But I think 2017 the economy will be good enough to proclaim that 2017 will be bitcoin's year. |

I honestly don't get why we are talking about 2017. 2016 is in a way still fresh and when it comes to bitcoin, 2016 has been very kind to bitcoin.
We got news (blocksize, discussion, Craig), we got a price rise (from 250) and we have seen bitcoin very stable.
Now the halving is coming up, maybe some more things from Craig and a solution with larger blocks..

2016 is already shaping up to be the best year for bitcoin especially because of the halving and all the price rises to this point.
so the next year, 2017 will continue being a good year for bitcoin because all these popularity will take some time to become really big
