Using it and investing are two different things. But yes, since the people behind this project care more about the user base and not investments. It currently is unattractive. I really wonder how they plan to increase the 'user base' when ordinary people only know bitcoin from news. Actually they don't plan much. Their philosophy till now was to develop something and 'hope' it would get people's attention. So far it hasn't worked. and before people gonna throw numbers at me, the price action of the last 3 years is not caused by ordinary people, these are people who chose to invest in crypto, not use it

You have a point. My take is that they don't know what the hell they're doing. I analyzed their marketing stuff over the last year and find that they are shooting all over the place. They don't know who the hell they're selling to, almost as if one guy is setting the tone at his whims.

I don't think a lot of people are going to use it in the future
the price action of the last 3 years is not caused by ordinary people, these are people who chose to invest in crypto, not use it

Of course this is always the case for projects that are high in risk (e.g. cryptos), but when the coin was still a community driven coin this was much less. The goal at that time was mass adoption within the Netherlands, now it is "0-confirmation transactions". Two totally different audiences.

Some posts make me laugh, new users they are very trust full Cheesy (speculators or losers)
But seriously Gulden has thousands of real users you can always make an appointment or come to organized meetings.
About bittrex this is no longer trust place, at any time your account can be closed (frozen) or exchange go EXIT. People are running away from bittrex

Nowadays Gulden has about 60,000 users all over the world, but the majority in the Netherlands. Based on the number of downloads we can say that Gulden has about 20.000 android, 15.000 iOS and 25.000 desktop users, Mac and window mostly (a small amount of Linux users). Probably the 25.000 desktop user has also a mobile wallet linked to their desktop so the total number of people with one or more Gulden wallet is estimated to 40.000.
Most of them are ordinary people and small to moderate holders. So we can say that Gulden already get the people's attention and has succeeded to his plan to reach the ordinary people to form with Gulden a new payment platform besides, but better than Euro.

Gulden isn't meant for the average speculating crypto-idiot that's looking for fast profit.

I bet when you walk in any city in netherlands and ask 100 random people if they know about gulden, not even 5 will know about the 'Digital currency' one

That's right but have they heard of digibyte, Monero, Dash, or the 900 other crypto's? So what's your point. 40.000 people know about Gulden, probably a lot more then members of digibyte, Dash and Monero together.

So what's your point.

The whole point is that gulden is aiming for (worldwide) acceptance. but something is not adding up with their strategy (so far)

Of course you should always set your goal higher:) By the way, December almost lasts another whole month.  Grin
But you have to admit that there are not many coins in the netherlands that have a user base of 40,000 members. And all that users aren't stupid.

Not yet I guess. Most people you ask will probably know BitCoin, but how many of them actually understand what it is? Knowing a name is just one thing, but knowing how something works or how it is meant to be used is worth a lot more. Actual use cases will bring a true perspective to users on how to actually handle crypto coins. My guess is that a 'local' and/or country specific crypto currency could work well.

I have already studied this project once, but something stops me from participating in it. It's a great team, but I do not have full confidence in this project. Maybe in 2018 the coin will be developed more actively.

Gulden started this week with Facebook advertisements. They have several adds. Dutch ones and English ones. I see them regularly on my timeline. 💪💪

Gulden price has increased significantly since january and I believe that right now is not a good time to buy more gulden unless you want to hold it for a long term. In 1 year, Gulden has a great chance to tripple its price. However, I believe that there are still many coins which are better than gulden like ethereum or Lisk. I suggest you to avoid investing in this coin just by looking at the charts.

Lisk a $1 billion marketcap coin is going to increase to $3 billion before Gulden goes from $30 million to $90 million.

Lisk has less then 40 000 users. Shows the different class of people investing in Lisk.
