Quick question for OP, maybe it was already asked but did you ever consider adding the multi-algo nicehash miner ?  Smiley
I think its is what you are looking for
https://tytanick.tinytake.com/sf/MTQ1NjExNF81MTY2NjY1

Anyone knows sgminer scripts that can do auto switching / mining to most profitable coin when a certain profitability level is reached?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=769239.0

I think something like this would set smOS to the next level

Why? Switching to most profitable coin usually means you're already too late. You want to mine before the pump, not during the pump.  Maybe Citronick with his 30 rigs can still make money but most of us smaller miners can't. By the time we mine and go to sell that coin isn't most profitable any more.

Better to play specific coins that have proven returns or speculate on a coin while it's still cheap and profit when the pump comes.

yep  I could sit here and explain why I hate switching via auto scrypt.   it only serves to make alts flatten price wise.

many other cons .  granted  at times switching may be needed but I prefer hands on for decisions to switch.

First things first. But auto switching causes too many problems and WONT be implemented any soon. I have already big list and i dont want to add and add more things to it Smiley
Propably what i could implement is some informations from whattomine or other services. After my OS will have some more important functions i will think about this also.
Right now i am still busy with those fcking cables for SRRv1 Grin (once SSRv2 will be released i will have much more time because now i am helping my girfriend with those cables. It is masacre, each cable takes 7 minute to make it Cheesy
Anyway after that i will TRY TO IMPLEMENT this nice looking dashboard, see this below Smiley
Example: https://simplemining.net/inspinia/
Once i will migrate all functions to this, i will make grouping feature thich is right now most wanted.
I was thinking many days about rig grouping function..... First i wanted to do this in very simple way but after few days i realised that i want to do this in better way.
Anyway it needed more time to do and then i saw this beautifull dashboard which i told myself that i must have this !! Cheesy
Anyway you guys think its nice right ? Cheesy

It looks VERY cool! I am really looking forward to see you deploying everything you have in mind  Roll Eyes

Yes its only for RX OS. In 4 OS the update button should be unavailable - It is not available right ?

On my kids gaming windows PC, I installed NH Windows miner that switches to most profitable automatically. When they areally not using their PCs for gaming or school work.... the miner starts when idle.

They get up to around 50 cents to 2 dollars per day and BTC rewards goes to their Coinbase wallets. They use GTX970 and 980ti on their W10 PC respectively.

When they want to buy game credits they use their bitcoins. They seldom now bug me for early allowance and they learn early how to use the currency of the future.

I have experimented installing this NH miner on full fudge 6 x RX480 Windows rig.... and it becomes a quick easy multi algo and profit switching mining rig. Too bad, this is all on Windows only.

Welcome Community and SMOS enthusiasts.

1. GENIUS WORK!

2. Future-Dashboard
it looks Very nice indeed!!!!!!

is it imagined from you, that you can controll every single rack? so i have in my Dashboard rig001 rig002 rig002

rig001 = claymore zcash = wallet 1

rig002= silenarmy = wallet 2

rig003 = claymore zcash = wallet 2

with detailed stats? Cause this is what i would need.

I manage some Rigs of a Group of 5 People. So its hard tioll now with SMOS to do so, cause i must use 1 Miner and 1 Wallet... just can do different workes, but cant get the stats out how much work each rack have maded.

3. Back to Topic:

Update runs Fucking stable.

i Use XFX 470 4GB Black Edition.

After BIOS-Mod under Windows, and OC in SMOS, i reach 28.8 MH/S each card. havent looked till now on energy consuption, cause i havent to mind it Cheesy

EDIT: started a new Rig with 3x HIS RX 470 OC and 1 x XFX RX470 Black Edition. Have to use different coreclock. HIS rx470 run stable at 28,4 MH/s

btw. All cards are Elpida Bios

Hi All....I just purchased some Pandaminers that will be hosted in Canada. They come pre-installed with windows but I want to run SMOS.
Is it just matter of me buying some msata ssd drives and flashing them with SMOS then sending them to the hosting company who will swap out the drives?

Will they just start mining as soon as they are turned on with the new drives?

I have consistently beaten profit switching for years by simply having a mining strategy and looking at difficulty and general trends. Profit switching for max daily income is literally ONLY a good idea if you don't follow the market and need a daily income stream to pay bills.

Skip both and buy the Panda OS from Eliovp. Will get you max hash rate for ETH/Zcash/XMR @ lowest possible voltage and is amazing to run if you own Pandaminers.

Anyone else confirm/deny my observation of difficulty not going up?  Is the timestamp on the genesis block to blame here or should we be worried…

Well did you get the older shorter model b1  that uses the msata .

i don't  know what is in the newer taller model.

if  it is a msata which i think it is you could flash it with smos and then put in the email  to be able to control the gui.

some hints you may want two emails  so one panda can mine  xmr or zec.
the other panda could mine eth.

i had a pandaminer older style i ran it with smos  I also ran it with eliovp os.

eliovp charges 300 for his flash card bios    and give you 1 os.

so if you want a lot of pandas it is 400 for 1

then i think he sells the 2nd to 11th os as a 10 pack for 300.

i have not checked prices in a while  you need to talk with  him.

as i see it 1 or 2 or 3 pandas  his pricing was not good

7 or more pandas his pricing may be good.

also you have the newer panda it has rx 470 4gb not rx 480 4gb.

my suggestion is run with smos and if it works well which it should  then study  the deals offered by eliovp.

I am all smOS  because I am small  under 30 cards and mining with eliovp is not cost effective

Thanks for the info.

I ordered 5 (B3) Pandas, I might look into Eliovp's OS later if I buy some more. My understanding is he needs to get his hands on a B3 first before he can release a version that works with the B3 anyway. I want to get these up and running as fast as possible so smOS looks like the best choice.

Thanks for the tips about the email Phil. I will verify the B3 runs Msata then order some and get them ready.

+1

PandaOS really only gives you full benefit if you run 10+ rigs, and/or really just want a decently optimal setup without much work. I know he's also working on auto-flashing for RX cards outside of Pandaminer for those wanting to run the Panda OS on custom rigs so when that happens I'll definitely pull the trigger.

Here are my settings if it helps (sorry don't have time to go through your bat lines, have to run):

-epool us2.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal <MyWallet>.$rigName -epsw x -allpools 1 -wd 1 -r 1 -dpool dcr.suprnova.cc:2252 -dwal reelen1.$rigName -dpsw x -dcoin dcr -dcri 10

Thank you, reelen. I tried to copy/paste your settings and pools only replacing my wallets and workers, and it is still not workin: I hash ETH, but DCR gives me "Job Timeout"... I have even tried Claymore's default wallets and pools and I still have the same problem:

-epool us1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal 0xD69af2A796A737A103F12d2f0BCC563a13900E6F -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://yiimp.ccminer.org:4252 -dwal DsUt9QagrYLvSkJHXCvhfiZHKafVtzd7Sq4 -dpsw x -esm 1 -mode 0 -tt 70

This is so frustrating!  Huh Huh What am I doing wrong? Something related with my router or internet provider, perhaps?

Remove "-esm 1" , when i removed it, it fixed timeouts.
I'm mining in ethermine and suprnova.cc - some pools don't like each other Smiley but ethermine and suprnova are working.
Hope it will help you.

Yes its only for RX OS. In 4 OS the update button should be unavailable - It is not available right ?

The beta menu and updates are showing as available for me but not an issue.Planning to upgrade all of the old r9 series rigs this month and running rx470's in a few new builds.

On the topic of RX series what RX470/480's are performing the best currently with smos?

Thought it best to ask the smos community  Wink Smiley

Hello!

I am not sure if I understood the first sentence, just in case i'll say it! Do not update your R9 cards to the new beta build. The new beta build is only for RX cards (The kernel and the amd). Please update the kernel first and then the amd driver.

Our RX 470 and 480 are doing great overall. Most of our cards now do the same hashrate compared to windows. We just have a few left hashing for 0.2 to 0.35 less than what they used to do on windows. For the remote managing, we honestly couldn't care less. That OS was exactly what we needed to manage our farm.

Best of luck!

Hello, this question is to someone who is using smOS with 4+ GPUs on same board.
Are you using just the image for RX or you are adding additional swap space on top of it.
Is it really needed? Like on windows Claymore suggest 16GB+ virtual memory.

In my lttle of knowledge of Linux.... swap files are dynamic and better optimised. That's why 4GB memory on most cases is more than sufficient.

You basically don't need to do anything apart from getting the RX or RX images to work on your USB, HDD or mSATA SSD.

Maybe the Linux experts can add on.

nope you dont really need any swap space with this linux distro
its a very basic OS uses around 1G of memory.
so you could get by with only 2G of ram
windows is also a recourse hog thats why you need to increase the physical memory limit
