having some trouble getting started:

at first , the stick could not find DHCP, but now it has  Smiley

When I go to the simplemining.net site, and login, it seems like it sees me
   noname   default   -   ON(4)   0 H/s   35℃ 30 %

on my rig, I get a few error messages, one of which seems rather ominous...

SAID invalid http response, wrong number of bytes recieved : 42
response; {:message" a valid address is required."}

any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Have you configured a Miner and Miner options in Rig Groups and assigned it to your rig yet?

last night , in chat, Gpunot asked me to list my config
I went to "rig groups" and under
Miner options it says:
-epool stratum+tcp://eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal $walletETH/$rigName -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1 -dpool http://siamining.com:9980/miner/header?address=$walletSC&worker=simpleminer -dcoin sia -dcri 16 -mport 127.0.0.1:3333

which Gpunot explained meant I had not assigned an address to my rig

I went to "RigList" and then "Global options" and added my public address
0x449F3333C5046eaD162e9Aa5cEECc4Fc9879830a

since miner option also says "$rigName", do I have to assign that too? Or can I leave it as default?

$rigName will just "feed" the actual name of your rig to the pool statistics. If you leave the Rig Name as the default, you'll see "noname" in the pool stats. For example, if you were mining Metaverse on Sandpool, your Miner options would look something like this: -epool stratum+tcp://etp.sandpool.org:8009 -ewal METAVERSEWALLETRECEIVEADDRESS -eworker $rigName -epsw x -ftime 10 -allcoins 1

Then, when you wanted to check your stats, you'd go to etp.sandpool.org and enter your Wallet Address to look up your Worker ($rigName) to see what it's up to.

It really sounds like you need to start at the beginning and use the steps below.

1. Choose a coin you are going to mine.
2. Find a pool to join to mine that coin.
3. Determine what miner you can use to mine that coin (based on a number of factors, hardware and algorithm being the most significant).
4. Download a wallet or use a web wallet (or other wallet with a receiving address) to get a Receive Address to mine to.
5. In smOS, select the correct miner for your coin and hardware and set it up with the appropriate Miner options (usually retrieved from the mining pool's website).

For example:

1. Coin to mine: Metaverse (ETP)
2. Pool is: etp.sandpool.org
The pool's website says Miner options (parameters) should be: -epool stratum+tcp://etp.sandpool.org:8009 -ewal METAVERSEWALLETRECEIVEADDRESS -eworker $rigName -epsw x -ftime 10 -allcoins 1
3. Since ETP is an Ethash algo coin, you can use Claymore miner. The current version is 11.9.
4. Go to https://www.myetpwallet.com/ and setup a web wallet. Get your ETP Receiving Address from there.
5. Set up smOS with all the info from the first 4 steps above.

Mining x16r, you should probably start with no OC at all.

Thanks SavageMine.
I found some use in

https://youtu.be/WSGaHckKN7M

however, I can not seem to get any pool to launch

Coin to mine: ETH
Pool:
dwarfpool.com
coinfoundry.org
Receive Address to mine to. (acquired)

I am using one AMD Radeon HD 7950
I was looking at some other videos, and they mentioned the R series  download.
I am 99% certain I downloaded that, but is there a way to check for a file in the smOS directory of my rig to make sure?

Hello,

I can only assume that this has been asked at least on time. But either way i am going to ask again.

Is there any way that you can set a script so that if any rig that is in the list goes off line some sort of email is sent?

My 5 yr old son somehow found the only wire that anyone in the world could trip on and pulled the plug to my switch that runs 3 rigs just enough to cause it lose power but no dislodge itself from the receptacle. Needless to say, the rigs ran for at least 4 hours with no indication that anything was at fault.

Our wifi is connected at another location so literally nothing else showed any kind of fault, except the 5 port switch that was not blinking.

Thank you for the consideration of this addition.

Let's focus on getting it mining on one coin/algo before jumping all around. In this example, we'll choose to mine Ethereum (ETH).

So, let's do this:

1. Once logged into simplemining.net, click Rig Groups.
2. Click Add group.
3. Expand claymore-eth.
4. Next to the line that starts with claymore-eth-v11.9, choose Select miner (GREEN button).
5. In Group Name, enter in ETH_Claymore119_Ethermine so you know which one we are working with.
6. For Miner OPTIONS, enter (EXACTLY - don't add anything else to this line):
-epool stratum+tcp://us1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal $walletETH.$rigName -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1
7. Click Add group.
8. Click RigList.
9. Put a check mark in the box next to your rig. Every rig should now turn grey.
10. Choose ASSIGN GROUP.
11. Click the down arrow and choose ETC_Claymore119_Ethermine.
12. Select Reboot.
13. Click Save.

Your rig should now reboot and begin mining ETH.

Hi;

I have been mining for 2.5 years, I was aware of "SimpleMining OS" a few minutes ago. I haven't used Linux before, but I want to try it as soon as possible.

Kind regards

...
Is there any way that you can set a script so that if any rig that is in the list goes off line some sort of email is sent?
...

There is Telegram notification that will send message when your rigs did not reported in last 15 minutes.

Can we added Avermore`s sgminer for x16s and x16r FOR AMD?
We are only oadding MOST wanted miners that have significant votes in our voting pool.

I have been mining for 2.5 years, I was aware of "SimpleMining OS" a few minutes ago. I haven't used Linux before, but I want to try it as soon as possible.
I could say the same about bitcoin.. why i discovered it in mid 2011 while it was released at the beggining of 2009.

BTW. We will implement AMD aggresive undervolting option in OC modal in few days.
This will be as a "TICK".
All new rigs from release point will have it as default but all old rigs will have it as disabled to make sure that they will not crash or freeze.
Anyway the aggresive undervolting will solve once for all the undervolting issues.
Right now the Undervolting under AMD is hit or miss. It will work on some GPU bioses and will not work on others.
The Aggresive undervolting will force all states to use lower voltages and this will cause the real wanted undervolting.
This is top priority now but as we have few other things in progress - it will slow down release.
It should be ready within 7 days.
I hope you will all like it Smiley

Hi. I never participated in this type of investment. Is it a scam? What is the minimum capital to join and profit?

Great news!
Thanks! Will be waiting for it to make real undervolting

P.S.

When we could make real undervolting of Nvidia cards with 396 Nvidia driver and Cuda 9.2 ?

Unfortunatly no, The nvidia does not support undervolting right now.
Only way to limit power usage is by setting powerlimit in watts. This will lower power consumption.
For examplke GTX1070 takes like 160 watts and lowering to 110 watts will not affect mining speed at all Smiley

Hi. I never participated in this type of investment. Is it a scam? What is the minimum capital to join and profit?
Simplemining.net is not investment. We are only service provider for easy operating system with many scripts + cloud dashboard to manage rig remotly.
Whole rig (PC computer with GPU units) is something that you need tu buy yourself and see if it will be profitable or not.
Unfortunatly i cannot advice if it is profitable or not. I am not here for that Smiley
I suggest going to those two websites and see for yourself how it was until now.
https://whattomine.com/
https://www.etherchain.org/charts/miningRevenue (from those amunts you need to substract power costs ofcourse)
I can say that right now this is worst time in profitability.

@tytanick, I apologize for my ignorance, i have no idea what you are talking about or how to set up. I reviewed the help section and could not locate anything in there.
Is there someplace you can point me to to get this step completed.
Thank you.

Maybe I set the question in bad way but I meant not to undervolt Nvidia cards but to make lower power limit as much as possible.
I am waiting when there will be possible to install 396 Nvidia driver in SMOS to lower -pl to 65w on my 1063 cards rigs.
And as long as its still be 390 Nvidia driver in SMOS I will NOT register my rigs here and will continue to use Ubuntu.

Sorry, Tytanick

Hi, recently i had someone that GTX1060 powerlimit was not working and it was due to unsupported GPU by current driver.
So if thats the case then i think reflashing your pendrive will solve this problem
https://download.simplemining.net/SimpleMiningOS-NV-RX-v1182-4.17.14-amd18.20-nv396.51.img.zip
So, download, reflash, change email (now editing this file will work even under MacOS) and then save, unmount and boot on rig.
All settings should be ofcourse downloaded from server so no need to do anything else.
Just please check if this is working fine and please tell me if by any chance you had PALIT GPU - becasue that was the case last time in other user rig ? Cheesy
Also if you guys will have more issues, please write to admin@simplemining.net
We have official support by email as writing on forum is not so easy/fast/good.... etc ....

Thats becasue i am not focusing on documentation and rather i am trying to make everyting as easies as possible and in most cases people figure everything out Cheesy
Lets call this mistery and adventure in my OS Tongue

OK, after loggin in into your dashboard, please click in right top corner in your email adress (geat icon).
Then you will have few things there : 2fa and telegram notifications.
Proceed steps there and it will be working Smiley
In future there will be more notifications than online/offline rigs but we need more time.
And i did not made email notifications on purpuse. We do not want to spam it as we can use telegram much better notifications.
