You can now PM with only 1 post.

I was trying to post in newbie forum but I got some "300 second" message. What was that all about? That totally blows.

Don't post so fast.

Really guys, these drastic measures weren't made because of some random trolls.  I have been on this forum non-stop for the last 10 hours, and even at the peak of trolls, there were only 3-4 active threads with porrly reasoned arguments going on.

The reason for these drastic measures, silencing new accounts, is because of people like me who came here and spoke honest trueth, well reasoned logic, and mental discipline to examining not only the bitcoin market, but the nature of bitcoin itself.

And you're going to see a lot more of it, this was just a temporary measure so they can try to get people to calm down and stop selling off so many BTC.

No, it really was necessary. The forum was being overrun by trolls.

I think you're over-reacting. There are many trolls on this forum and the admins are just taking a simple extra precaution.

Is one post every five minutes really that fast though? I see the need for a limit, but that seems fairly high.

There was also a lot of PM spam.

But you can now PM with just 1 post.

Added to that, you think too highly of yourself.  This is a forum about bitcoin, not bitcoin itself.  The new rules don't exist to prevent you from talking your book, even though that is still bad form.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

So not only are we restricted to the noob forum, but now we have to wait 5 minutes in between posts?

I drink it up!

I have been watching the boards pretty much constantly for the past 10 hours, and at its worst there were only even 3 trollish posts flaming on in dishonor.

Again, any mod worth his salt could have easily locked threads, banned accounts, whatever.

Of course, people just could have ignored them, or posed intelligent counterpoints that made the trolls look stupid.

Heh, just ironic hoe much centralized control we have here on a board about an idea about a currency that hypothetically has no authoritarian chains attached...

It's interesting...

Thank you very much for that!  Makes the forum semi-usable again.  I understand *something* needed to be done, a lot of us here are just frustrated at the moment.  Any chance some of the other restrictions may be reconsidered??

Start your own forum and client. I am, this place is obviously run by forum administrators that lack managing a community of any significant size.

This is the first good thought you've had.  It goes against my instincts, but I guess your right, it is time to ban you for trolling.

Same. Also doesn't help rotating such a critical change with "Version 0.3.22 is now available" in their news ticker ...perhaps a bigger notice? Something only visible to "Newbies" would be great. Nice and bold, so we don't hunt around and bother admins on AIM.  Undecided
