Those IDE-looking cables that connect to miner models... there was some info around that they're not actually IDE?

So is there any spec for these cables available? Is it possible to somehow make such cables from normal IDE cables?

The reason I'm asking is that I try to rearrange some Avalons into 4-unit configuration, and most of these non-IDE cables are just too damn short to reach the 4th slot...

Once you have the specs, try THESE or THESE guys

What do you guys think of this Power supply as a suitable replacement for the Avalon?

http://www.corsair.com/en/power-supply-units/ax-series-power-supply-units/ax1200i-digital-atx-power-supply-1200-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-fully-modular-psu.html

It has voltage correction for brownouts and seems to be spec'ed to run at 50C temperatures. (Summer is coming)

This PSU is super luxury, but 200mm long, won't fit in the case, you might put it outside of the case

I just replaced mine with a corsair GS800, no cgminer restart after one day, so far so good  Smiley

Sitarow do not understand how you can have a 1000w consumption over a source of 800w  Huh

Is there a datasheet for the ASIC which describes the protocol of the interfaces, the pinout, physical and thermal characteristics of the package, as well as the ac timing of the pins?

There is not.  Avalon has stated that this information will eventually be released.

So all this talk about DIY is basically a kit?

Kit?  I don't think most of the DIY projects are being designed as kits.  It is all preliminary talk and design in anticipation of the actual datasheets.

Anyone with an oscilloscope and an Avalon could cook up the datasheets right now, but I don't think anyone (publicly) has.

it is two Avalon units.

Unit 114
and
Unit 445

Each have their own power supply they are just plugged into 1 outlet. To demonstrate how many you can have operating on 1 15 amp 120v plug.

It seems that the original power supply (Antec Earthwatt 650) is a bit inadequate

Had the same issue today with firmware 419   hash rate was 0
Stop/restart cgminer /reboot of system did not worked
Changing pool , reconfiguring cgminer did not worked
Cold boot fix it (power off /on) and now is working again
It worked without restart for  about 22h (each day after about 20h i`ve restarted the cgminer software)
The system was running for about 50h
Before the last system restart , it worked for ~85h with no problems

Perhaps, but mine is holding up remarkably well. 300 MHz clock speed and current uptime has been 6 days..woohoo! Smiley

As I understand, one (20) of 24 miners is partially dead? Can other owners share stats of their units? Is this normal?
