The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

I mined bitcoins back in 2010-2011. After I mined casually for about a year I amassed about 10 bitcoins, which at the time was about $20. I woke up the other day and discovered I have ~$500 worth of bitcoins. You can imagine my surprise. So with that said I've decided to get back into the bitcoin world.

I'm Enoch Root, but I could not secure nicks root or eroot, so I went for goto. I host a Bitcoin Testnet Faucet at http://testnet.mojocoin.com/ written by ciphermonk. I'm not a Bitcoin n00b. I have been involved with Bitcoin since 2011.

Hello bitcoin world...  The sad fact is, I started mining not too long after Bitcoin was first spun up.  Boy do I wish I had been mining all that time...  Now, I'm just trying to get a few things squared away on a rig, wondering if the whole ASIC debate will make mining less of a good option than just flat out buying BTC.

Depending on the Mh/s of your older rig, it may be more profitable to just buy BTCs. But, why not mine your heart out until ASIC's have fully been integrated into the market and made everything impossible for the little guys..

Very true! I only have a 5870 and 5830 (plus an AMD APU, not that that does me a whole lot of good, but...). So profit wise, I'm probably looking at a net loss once the TH start to hit hard.

Hi, I'm Zeaster, here to better understand the roots of what seems is going to be the future:
taking a look at the bitcoin market value, it skyrocketed in the last 2 months.
What is going to happen to exchange rates?
Are we going to witness a 100 USD / 1 BTC?
Or a new 'accident' will burst the bubble?

Hi,

I like the concept of Bitcoins, and I'm now mining with continuumpool. I study linguistics and I'm currently learning Japanese.

Thanks. (Trying to get my post-count to five).
