PS Whats the point of mining and using an unregulated and undetectable currency if when you go to exchange it, it becomes just another normal currency that can be logged . Keep the whole process under the radar like it was supposed to be.

You might as well ask, what's the point of using untraceable cash if you're just going to put it in an easily traceable bank account? The answer is the same in both cases: bitcoins and cash are both more convenient than other ways of moving money around. No exorbitant fees, no daily withdrawal limits, no risk of chargebacks, no risk of identity theft, no waiting forever for transactions to clear, etc. The potential for anonymity is just a side benefit, which not everybody wants or needs to take advantage of. They can use bitcoins any way they want for any reasons they want, regardless of what other people think. That is the way it is supposed to be. Smiley

Will pretend to do unverifiable things (while actually eating an enchilada-style burrito) for bitcoins: 1K6d1EviQKX3SVKjPYmJGyWBb1avbmCFM4

I have been reading forums for ever but still manage to read over the Intro thread.

I was looking for something new to research, remembered hearing about some cryptocurrency thing back in 2009 and decided to check it out.

I've been online since way back when, I believe it was 1996 sometime.  I will probably be online after I die, I plan on taking my tablet or what ever we have around that time.

I already read a lot of the info on the wiki and I am reading through the forum, trying to decide if I want to invest or mine.

Have any spare coins? I'll take them:

Hello. Is there a better way to vet users?  I'm a newbie but have been reading these forums for over a year now.  I finally have cause to post and contribute to the discussion but must play the newbie game first.

I'm Batman.

no you're not... I am. as well as the real slim shady, the 99%, and some other meme.

... also none of the above. I'm a retired engineer (whee! medical / disability retirement) and also posting in here to celebrate that I already posted 5 posts BEFORE hopping over to this thread.

Some time in the next day (maybe sooner. possibly even by the time I finish writing this post) I'm hoping the newbie status will be lifted. Been an engineer / geek / network & server operator / software developer / beta tester / writer of reviews for random things / android-rooting, custom-distro-spinning, other geeky things on this list... ok I've lost interest in typing this. I'm very lazy.

blah blah blah going back to bed I really hate intro threads & never know what to write. This is one of the few occasions I'll ramble on about nothing like this lol

Hey everyone. I'm pretty new to the Bitcoin scene. I'm just curious in finding a place where my money would sit better than rotting in paypal. Smiley

Hey guys, iJeax here. Looking to buy some BTC via PayPal. I know it will be tough, but once I make some buys and get trusted, it will be great!
