Hi, I'm about to buy some bitcoins, the seller is stepping me thru the process and answering questions which has been a huge help. As a trial he has sent one coin to my wallet which is taking aaaaaaages (so far 29 hours with 90 blocks to go) to synchronise, and it's not showing the coin he's sent. Does the wallet have to synchronise before the coin will show, and WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG?

The little I've read about synchronising indicates there's a way to automate it so that it doesn't take so long.

WOW, just received as I type this... there has to be a shorter way - any suggestions?

After the blocks finish synchronize, the next time you load it'll be faster. The coin is already in the wallet, and you could check the process without synchronizing your wallet at blockchain.info .Simply search the wallet address.

If you hate to stay up to date with the latest blocks (I do this like once a week when I send coins out, and it takes around half an hour for a week's worth of blocks), simply use an online wallet like the one at http://blockchain.info/wallet

My BTC Tip Jar: 1Pgvfy19uwtYe5o9dg3zZsAjgCPt3XZqz9 , GPG ID: B3AAEEB0 ,OTC ID: johnthedong
Escrow service is available on a case by case basis! (PM Me to verify I'm the escrow!)

I don't mind staying up to date with the latest blocks.

Hello Everyone,

I just registered here after I found out a few weeks ago about Bitcoin. I was introduced by a colleague who tries to make some arbitrage profits here and there. I have been active as an online project developer for the past few years, especially in the Adult business and I can certainly see big advantages to starting to accept Bitcoin.

I'm very eager to step into the Bitcoin world and participate in this great opportunity and try to set up a few Bitcoin accepting websites Smiley

Honestly B(b)itcoin get's my entrepreneurial blood cooking again Smiley

Thanks for reading. Good day Smiley

Regards, Kingdom of Ends

I've been around almost a year, but have nothing really to contribute.  So far, when I have, I didn't want to have to deal with the newbie process so I never contributed Smiley  I'm pretty much just setting my account up now so I can contribute in the future, even though I likely wont.  I'm interested in alternative currencies, privacy, and business in general.
