Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Hey guys, I've been mining now for about 2 months when i read about the article in forbes.  Electrical Engineer by degree, and Software engineer/entrepreneur by trade.  I've made a couple associates that work for ISPs and the likes and have studied monetary theory so bitcoin is an awesome experiment to see what and how a currency really forms and operates from the ground up.  Really digging it.  I'm also looking at FPGA SHA256 designs when i'm bored.  I've read alot of fpgaminer's posts and really like what he has to say.

Hi, GoldenEagle here. You can call me GE. Joined and started reading a while ago. Have a couple of 6950's running ATM and getting about 630 M/hash. Stock cards with 840/800 speed. Waiting on my pci-e extender cables to get here and will setup both cards in one machine and unlock the shaders and overclock the GPU some more, hoping to hit 950. Going to stay with the 6950 bios and NOT run the 6970. Everything I have read has said that once card starts pulling more than 225w it starts throttling the GPU and the 6970 bios makes it go way past that at the clock speeds I want to hit. Better hash speeds with the 6950 bios in the end. Glad to be here and looking forward to learning and growing with the community.

Hello, you may know me by another name; however, today the forum no longer allowed me to access the network anonymously via tor.

This measure has stopped my business plan in its tracks.  Since I will probably no longer be able to conduct my business in the bitcoin economy until this problem is fixed, I have decided to turn my attentions to this problem directly.

Edit: problem solved... perhaps I was just hitting a bad exit node.

please do so! and get some posts Smiley
don't be so negative, the 50-post-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy
50 post rule...ok...take it easy ...good advice...

Ah, well...perhaps cheating is frowned upon in moderation.  My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father.  Prepare to die.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi, my name is Eamon. I am an artist and life coach. I was a
software during the Internet bubble of '97-'01 and burned out hard.
I think bitcoin is the most exciting thing I've seen since I first
saw the Mozilla browser in 1993.  I just finished a B.S. degree in
Psychology, and although I'd like to go on to medical school, I see
Bitcoin as a unique oppurtunity. I've worked for an Internet
startup, and I've had my own consulting company. I'm fresh, and
ready to work like hell launching a new idea. I guess I might be go
back to being a software architect for a while.

I think the most interesting thing about Bitcoin is "alternative block
chains".  I also like using "prediction markets", such as Inkling Markets.
I put one prediction there, and would like to create more, but Bitcoin is
moving so fast!

I don't expect anyone to read this, since I guess we're all just trying to
get out of the Newbie box, but if there was one thing that I would want to
peirce through all the noise, it's this - "Life isn't fair. It's not your
job to make it fair. There is an oppurtunity here, take it, make it your
own, and spread the value to everyone you care about. If you could be a
thousand times more effective than you are RIGHT NOW, what would you be
doing?"

- -----
If you want to give me money, track me down in person. I want to provide
value, not beg for it.
