Hey!

Bubba here. Been lurking for a while then this new rule thing comes along and I can't post now.  Soo figured I'd say hey and get the post count going. Smiley

I am very interested by all of this and hope to get started in the next couple of weeks (been lurking for a while).

I have done quite a lot of reading and hope to get into all aspects of Bitcoin (mining/speculation/business).

I love the idea of this currency and hope to be able to see it come to fruition.

Oh well, back to lurking.

Hello all! I'll go ahead and state the obvious. I'm new here; been looking into this for about a week or so now, been using tor for over a month. I find this seemingly lucrative project quite fascinating, and since this seems to be the predominant forum to which its users lurk, I figured I'd join.   Grin

please do so! and get some posts Smiley
don't be so negative, the 50-post-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy

Hey guys. Just got started with all this mining and whatnot 2 days ago, and I'm getting pretty interested in it. A user in the bitcoin-cad irc channel told me to come here to see if anybody would sell me some coins, so here I am Tongue

Looking forward to interacting with everybody here.

Hey guys, im jerry.. Im down with the whole bitcoin thing and ive been reading all the post since the beginning.  I have bitcoins and i have a dual 6970 miner right now.  Me and my friend henly are totally down! Im not a noob, but right now its at 15 bux, and I think its on a decline.  Im scared ppl arent buying coins and ppl are selling like crazy just to get out.  We need major media coverage! Major positive coverage!  We need CNN, MSNBC and other stations to tell the benefits of bitcoin so people can join in and stimulate the economy.  Or else it is doomed!  Who thinks the same!

Hi, Im from central germany, act. with deepbit for a few days @ est. 750 MHs (3xHD5830, win7x64 KIV's GUI/poclbm), planning to come up with another 1.5 - 2.0 GHs next days :-) if they can deliver some 6990's.

***

Open question: Does anyone know, how many 5830 or 6990 cards can take a ROG formula IV board with Win7x64?

***

Deepbit again & again under attack?? & 3 THs add. power since two days ago within the network. For a short time this start with add. 6 THs. This is MWatts of electricity & cooling power. How can pay this for a longer time on MtGox rates going down?

***

MtGox is @ consolidation after an unawaited rally at the beginning of June. Keep cool, usd 50/BTC comes within the next months. This last rally was only the prelude. Now the market have enough BTC to strenghten BTC use itself. After this will come the next rally.

But, additionally, if or when Greek is going down, defaulted & than the Euro is going down a little bit, this is BTC-push power again, the lost confidence into classical currency.

If a big rating agency, as announced earlier, will downgrading the U.S. in july (if the administration can not handle the congress properly regarding the allowed national dept), this is the next step. So take your time, think about the powerfull factors at work, wait until good selling rates. :-)

***

And a little bit later, if I made it some day out of this strange newbie section, I will render you the ultimate BTC-deflation scenario if we'll see sometimes the crash of a major currency. Everyone he waits until this time with a few BTC in his wallet, will be a happy man!

R.

Hey, name's Dropbear. Was going to see how long it took for me to mine enough BTC for a t-shirt on a 10mh/s computer, but now it's gone into the "Will do by 2013" category. XD

Also, Australia has horrible banking options for BitCoin. Tongue

Hello, I'm TeaRex from Hannover Germany. I'm currently mining, not really interested in speculation by now, so I sell my coins whenever I get 5 or so.

I got a 6990 last week... sleek beast, though I heard electrical heating is kinda old-fashioned. ;-)

Converted my main Desktop computer into a mining rig for now, and am using my netbook for other stuff until the 6990 is paid off (which I do hope will actually happen before difficulty really goes through the sky...). I found that running the computer with the case open and pointing a large room fan at the card on lowest setting allows it to run with a lot less noise, I can even sleep in the same room (which is the only one I have in this shared apartment).

For the moment I'm being adventurous and trying out the new Taiwan "Multipool" but unless the payout is noticeably higher, I plan to return to Bitcoinpool soon because of the great community spirit and openness.

Currently I'm mining on a freshly installed Windows 7 with Phoenix SVN. So I had to learn how to install and configure Python to run it... If you want to try it look at the How-To I posted in the Bitcoinpool forum.

That's it for now, bye!
