Hello!
I would like to introduce myself... and get the 50 post limit so I can finally ask what I want
Something about me:

mining at 850 Mhash/second, excited about bitcoins... came here for some hardware modification advice
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I am Tony F of the CottonFog Farm. I support bitcoin because I am thoroughly awake to the fact that my freedom has been trampled by outside forces that benefit greatly from having a monopoly on a debt based currency. I want to own some bitcoin. I currently have silver bullion and livestock that I will sell for bitcoin. Face to face in central florida or silver via mail. I have spent all weekend learning about bitcoin and I am certain that I would like to own some as well as mine for them. My computer is only producing 4.5/mhs using a gui CLminer. I want to buy a decent dedicated mining rig but only have silver bullion and dollars (mostly silver - i need the dollars to pay my bills) to spend at the moment. i looked into buying bitcoin via exchange but talk about a hassle. That is just sooooo much trouble. Id rather just buy a machine and let it run and let it pay for itself via pool mining. I have been mining for almost 24 hrs at the moment and have only earned 3/10 of a single penny at a price of $15/BTC. If I could average 2/ week I would be happy if the machine cost about $500.
I have been a contributing member of Economic Fundamentals google group for about 3 years and on youtube a bit longer. www.youtube.com/tonyfarese
I first heard about bitcoin from Max Keiser. Then i read a crappy article in Bloomberg Business Week. Then a youtube channel I subscribe to (DonHarrold) put out a video bad mouthing bitcoin yesterday. I get news from various sources so I do my own research. Don has been loosing credability lately. Either way, I do not agree with his views and I am here to do the things I mentioned above. If anyone is in central florida (deland area) and can help me out w/ a mining rig or wants to buy siver w/ bitcoin or fresh Berkshire pork or live hogs or milk goats I would like some bitcoin. Fresh goat milk or free range chicken eggs. Thanks for reading my intro.

You seem like you've done your "Homework" on Bitcoin compared to most Noobs...
Welcome, and +1 to You !

Hi,

I have been into computers for +15 years and started mining about a month ago.
currently have 2 x 5870's and 2 x 5830's for a total of 1,350 MHashes.
Have been viewing this forum for the past month, but signed up yesterday when i needed to post something.

I have created a new all in one difficulty adjusted BTC Mining Calculator. Grin
Give it a try here: www.kaptain.me/btc_calc.php

Hello everyone,

I am forever a student of finance and economics. Bitcoin came to my attention, I must confess, rather recently through a friend on another message board. Letting the currency float is the most interesting part of bitcoin's equation.

The reason I am joining the forum is I am interested in being part of the development of an effective contract system for buying and selling bitcoin currency in the future, be it contracts for five minutes from now or five months from now.

For now, I'll just learn as much as I can because bitcoin represents something historically significant imo.

Hello, my name is Hakim ibn Ishaq. I live in Seattle, USA.

I am not new to Bitcoin, but new to this forum.

I have read and learned a lot about Bitcoin and I think I am ready to give people advice.

Ask me if you have questions.

I'm hoping to find honourable men to make business with here.

Hi there. I'm new to bitcoins and I dislike the increasing difficulty when it comes to mining therefor, unfortunately, I think my interest will be short-lived unless it balances out.

Not too much about myself except I have had a pretty bad experience with bitcoinexchange.cc I would like to post under his topic as I understand it is the only way to get responses. Alas, as a newb I can not yet post. I wonder how many others would leave bad feedback for him only to be discouraged by the difficulty in registering on the forums.
