Hello, I'm a pirate party and anonimity enthusiast looking to play with a toy currency that might became or spawn the best way to spend money. I mostly plan on lurking, but might soon post some rants with suggestions to make bitcoin more mom-proof

I also like to experiment with computer art and might make something bitcoin-related as a way of subtly begging for money to spend on socks Smiley

I want to buy bitcoins from somewhere with my Visa/paypal, and send them to my account on another website.

I read about bitcoins on the internet. I just started mining bitcoins but I'm not getting rich very fast, I think I may be losing more money on electricity than I am gaining in bitcoins. What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong.  That is how the bitcoin market is right now.  Unless you have cheap electricity rates or a very efficient rig/computer then you will break even.  However in the last two/three weeks the BTC price has jumped about $0.60 per bitcoin.

I run a small company with business all over the globe. I'm planning to start selling my goods and services in exchange for bitcoins, and want to give the Marketplace section a try. How long will it take before I'm able to post there?

Scandalous

Hey, it seems like getting out of the newbie box is going to take awhile.

I'm working on some BitCoin related websites that'll launch as soon as I acquire some more coin and find an area to promote it.

What kind of projects are you working on, or is it secret?

Not secret!

I've ran a 'Free Second Life Linden' site since 2007, and I'm basically going to open one up for BitCoins soon. Where users do things like watch youtube videos/ads, facebook LIKE pages, complete offers, register to sites, etc. and earn BitCoin. In addition to BitCoins users could also withdraw the earned rewards to Second Life, or redeem for amazon gift cards, etc. The site is done, minimum withdrawal is 0.01 BitCoins. I just need to buy/trade for more. Ive traded $L for some, but need more to be on the safe side. On average I'd assume most users would only be able to earn like 0.25 BTC, more only if they put in a lot of effort in 'Tasks'.

Other sites I was thinking about were an online casino where users could compete in skill based games to see who gets the highest amount of points. I'd also like to try my hand at a marketplace.

Those are probably the best three ideas I have. The codes all done from previous projects. Ive had lots of random virtual currency websites over the past few years, so its basically just reworking them for BitCoins and seeing if theres any interest.

Sounds good. I like the skill based games idea. I would love to get down on that.

Thanks for the reassurance, you have confirmed what I thought to be the case. At this rate I'll never recover costs for the used video cards I picked up on Ebay. Oh well, it's still interesting to fool around with bitcoin.
