when trying to open the wallet i get this : cannot obtain lock on data directory home/user/.zcoin. zcoin is probably already running

If I extract the file it dissapears and if I try to open it nothing happens. tried it on a other pc there it seems to work fine but I dont want to use it there.. Its probably my own fault but dont understand what it is and why its only with zcoin
What OS and version ? And where did you download from ? Did you check if it is your antivirus? It should be nothing to do with the app if you extract it and it disappears since it is packaged normally . I'm on windows 10. It probably is my antivirus. Allthough normally I get a pop up and can decide if I allow it or not but this time is doesnt react at all if I try to open it. I'm a real noob technical speaking when where talking about OS hmm Yes, it's correct . I used windows 10 and I got the issue like yours the reason is that you open the windows defense (anti-virus software of microsoft) so you must close this software then download ans install again . it's normal. Good luck, guy. Tried to download and open with smart firewall off and auto protect off but still didnt work. I know its my antivirus but still its a bit frustrating since I only have this problem with zcoin |

Is that the correct command for importing a paper wallet?
Importprivkey (then the private key typed here)
I tried it but it is not working...
please help. Is importprivkey the right code to import paper wallets (followed by the private key of course) in the zcoin wallet? Sorry but im a noob and i cant import cold wallet, please help me so i can buy lots of zcoins and make u rich Yes but if it's encrypted make sure to type walletpassphrase YOURPASSPHRASE 60 first. Then type importprivkey YOURPRIVKEY If you're still having problems we need the error details. This is all typed in the Debug window by going to Help |

Go into your .zcoin folder and delete the .lock file. running linux mint but a quick internet search to kill running processes revealed going intothe terminal entering top then finding the process id # then typing k and then the process number hit enter then type kill and then hit enter |

How does ZCoin compare to Monero or Dash?
What do you all see as short term and long term price targets?
The way I see it Zcoin is the only coin that offers true anonymity as it is the only coin where the transaction link is being broken en therefor not re-traceable when doing a blockchain analysis... Monero has nearly as much anonymity but still organisations like CIA and NSA can figure out the transactions because the link between transaction still exist on the blockchain... Also Monero transactions are heavyweight and slow and there is still no normal functioning wallets available for mass adoption.. In addition the people behind Monero dont care much about community and have taken the piss out of investors before which is very amateur and childish... Dash is foremost a company... The anonymity is children's play compared to Zcoin, and as a company the have the sole right to blacklist certain dash tokens and offer CIA/NSA type organisations the opportunity for analysis of previous transactions... They might even have no say when summoned to give it all up... Nonethless DASH has a large community and is commercially active.. Zcoin seems to be the single one digital currency that has defeated the anonymity problem and therefor seems not to be able to be taken down by powerful governmental forces... As we all see the governments are already ganging up on the crypto community as we speak... From Zcoin's roadmap it is clear that the end goals are desktop and mobile wallets, integration with ethereum for swaps between zcoin and ether and foremost a decentralised anonymous market place... It sounds like Silk Road 2.0 and I guess that is exactly what it is, but with the security to not be shut down by any powerful organisation... If Zcoin can live up to all this and if the Zcoins are truly untraceable and completely anonymous...as well as the market place that will be the main infra structure to integrate Zcoin with regular economics... I'd say this coin might even be the last one standing soon... and the eventual evolutionary product of what Satoshi envisioned... In this case the value will be priceless... On the shorter term think simple.. Zcoin has better tech than Zcash and Zcash costs $300 per coin.... Zcoin costs $12 per coin.. This disparity is in Zcoins favor |
