Anyone nows what the r9 390x from Gigabyte or the r9 290x from msi is doing? Speeds and watts please

I can't speak for the x versions but I have a sapphire nitro 390 (2x 8pin for serious overclocking space) and an asus strix, both seem to hover around 240h/s I don't like the idea of pacing them too hard, since I'd rather have them mine pretty quiet at ~60-65c and prolong their use -25mv and -40mv, 1100 core, nothing extreme. I think the 390x should get around 255h/s the 290x should fetch slightly less from what i've been reading. my guess is the power draw is quite polite but i don't have a wattmeter to verify. probably between 180-230 watts. my guess is with the right power mod bios you can get it lower if you're willing to do your homework.

I run my R9 390 at 950MHz/1250. The hash rate is about 200H/s. So it is very quite and the fan is below 30%.

My full stats of rig with Claymore V7
2050 H/s @ 1450W at wall

My best scenario is ZEC price stay between 60-45$ for some months, then be pumped when I have store a nice amount of ZEC Smiley

That is about 0.7J/H. I think it is very efficient. For my undervolt under clocked R9 390, that is about 0.85J/H.

R9 Fury are really efficient, the worse thing was the prise of the cards.
But right now, you can find them for 270€ in my country (I got them in july for 330€ with a discount, others selling sites used to sell them at 500+€ at this time).

They could have been more efficient with BIOS mod, but I'm okay with the stock settings.
I just reduce the power limit to -46% in afterburner and I can achieve 24-25 Mh/s ETH + 600-630 SC
Or with ZEC, 220-230 H/s (with low budget CPU), on gaming desktop with only 2 cards to manage, I'm at 240 H/s with the same power restriction.

With the new version 7.0 I'm currently getting
916 and 864 on my rigs but when mining the effective hashrate is the same as it was in version 6.0 if not lower.
Could I be getting a false reading from my GPU's or is the miner giving false readings?

I have seen the price for the r9 390 and its well ToDo against the 390x. So maybe @ the end of the month i start the build with these gains. It's something different than always the rx 480's.
Thanks for statics Wink

Im mining with:

PC ---- mb: MSI Z97 G55 / CPU: i7 4790K  / 12GB Kingston hyperX1600 Mhz ram  / Win 7 pro 64bit

3x MSI R9 390 gaming 8 GB (no bios modding)

each getting 232-236 H/s stable

OC Settings with Grimson v16.10.3:

GPU clock:   +10% = 1144 Mhz
Power limit: +10%
Memory clock: 1650 Mhz

I would like to ask what is my problem. The rig gets restarted in about 12-16 hours. I see that GPU2 is hashing 0 but i use the same settings on another rig with 390s and there is no such a problem.

Many thanks for any advice....

Bad riser or virtual memory that isn't standing on minimum 16gb

I suggest stress testing your cards. I have lost a few sins this started.

i use this. http://clgpustress.nativeboinc.org/

Having on my 390X Sapphire Nitro 240-243 H/s. But always 1 rejected hash Cheesy

The rejected share comes after a block is found.

if your 390 hashes 0, lower your core clock, its overclocked too much.  Some can be clocked higher, some not.  probably if it was connected to a screen you would start seeing artifacts and stuff

i would back down the clock to 1100 and see what happens.

tried my two 390s @ 1140 (stock is 1040) and after 6+ hours the rig would reboot.

if your pc is rebooting thats a psu issue or the driver is crashing and bsoding win so either u need a better psu or downclock card or up volts to make oc stable

because pool determines your speed by shares submitted and pools always fluctuate so 1 sec u might be way higher than u have next lower but usually it avg the same

many thanks for all your advices..

i clocked down the core to 1436 Mhz (+9,5%) - Eth was stable with +11% but nwm, let try it.... Zcash is another story Smiley

and i settet up the 16GB virtual memmory, i could swear that it was set up before, but it wasnt (my fault) - based on your advices i checked it and was surprised...

Now i will just w8 what happens if the miner or the whole rig restarts or not... Will inform after some time of testing....

Thanks 1more time for your help....
